Claire strode onto the pitch, looking around at the players waiting expectantly in the air. It was dry this afternoon, but a lot of cloud coverage made it darker than it should have been. Crouching down, she lifted the lid of the box that was placed in the centre of the ground. Releasing the Bludgers into the air, followed by the Golden Snitch.
Lifting up the Quaffle, Claire placed her wistle in her mouth and blew a short, sharp burst, beore throwing it straight up into the air, where it was caught by…
Hikalyn pushed off the ground as soon as the red Quaffle was launched into the air, her black hair and green and silver robes streaming around her as her Firebolt launched her unnerringly towards the scarlet dot in the sky. Her hands closed around it, and she whipped her broom around towards the Huffle goalposts, her eyes searching the sky for the other team members.

Wyl flew up into the air, delighting in the air on his face. He pushed his glasses up his nose and started looking around for the Snitch, feeling strange as Seeker.

Silver gritted her teeth firmly together as she strode out onto the Quidditch Pitch, holding her WildWind 600 with a firm grip as it rested, gleaming, against her shoulder. It wasn’t the best model broomstick, but she had spent every sickle she had saved from last year on buying the best broom she could afford, and this one was just right for her.
Her heart hammering madly, she couldn’t hear, see or really feel anything until she heard Claire’s silver whistle blow loudly, ringing in Silver’s ears.
She shot into the air and grabbed the Quaffle right out of a Slytherin’s outstretched arms, and shot towards the goal at a speed she had only ever dreamt of in her most wonderful dreams.

When she saw the girl dressed in the canary robes of of Hufflepuff headed towards her, Hikalyn gritted her teeth and willed her Firebolt to greater speed. Her eyes were watering from the wind in her face, but she was used to the feeling. It was exhilerating, really. But she took that adrenalin and channeled it into useful energy, streaking towards the Hufflepuff goalposts.
She still didn't see anyone on the Pitch other than Artemis, their Seeker, but at least Huffle didn't appear to have any more players than they did.
Just then, another canary-yellow clad girl came up unexpectedly behind her and seized the Quaffle. Cursing mentally, Kalyn turned a tight loop in midair, chasing after the other girl.
OOC: R Ight, sorry.

Camber threw her fist into the air, glad that Silver grabbed the quaffle. She continued to be ready for anything

Smiling at the togetherness of whatever small team Hufflepuff had mustered, Silver flippantly passed the Quaffle to Camber, it sailing easily over the Slytherins’ heads. With a smile at Wyl, she shot forward to get into position to score – you never knew when opportunity might knock, and she had a feeling that Hufflepuff might yet surprise the rest of the school, and that even without Ace, they could still perform perfectly as a team.
“Come on guys, we’re doing great!” she yelled encouragingly to Camber and Wyl.

As soon as the other girl tossed the Quaffle, Hikalyn was there, her arms stretched over her head to grab the red ball from the air before it could reach its target. The Quaffle safely in her hands, Kalyn once more whipped around, heading back towards the Hufflepuff end of the playing field.

Camber caught the quaffle and grinned. She sped off to keep the quaffle away from the Slytherin team. She watched Silver, and watched where she was going, not wanting to loose the quaffle. getting to the end of the field, she took her shot.

Hikalyn sped after the Huffle girl, leaning so far forward that it was a wonder she didn't fall off her broom. If she had noticed the tentativeness of her position, though, it didn't show on her face, which was hardened into an expression of intense concentration and determination.
The other girl released the Quaffle, getting of a shot at the Slytherin goalposts. Quick as a blink, Kalyn was there, her hands closing once more around the Quaffle. Now it was a race back to the other end again, and Hikalyn willed her Firebolt forward.

Silver did a quick loop in the air before swooping down low, below where the Slytherins were passing the Quaffle amongst themselves. Signalling to Camber that she should do the same, the two female Chasers flew steadily beneath them until Silver nodded her head, and suddenly –
WHOOSH!
They shot up amongst the very middle of the Slytherins’ formation, and one surprised Chaser shrieked and dropped the Quaffle right into Silver’s waiting arms. Grinning manically at Camber, the two shot off synchronically down towards their goal, hoping to score.

Tired with the effort of keeping the Quaffle away from the demanding Slytherin Team, Silver swiped away the fringe that had become dampened against her face with perspiration. Her pale eyes carefully watching the game below, she signalled to Camber to create a diversion – it was time to throw away the rulebook and play dirty.

Once again, Hikalyn was there. It was hard to be everywhere on the pitch, but fortunately her excellent broom model, her experience at the game, and her light build allowed her to make a fair job of it.
She snatched the Quaffle out of the air, but fumbled it, nearly dropping it. Cursing mentally, she recovered the ball and her hands curled protectively around it. Turning, she streaked once more across the pitch with the speed for which the Firebolt was named. Her focus narrowed until she could only see a slender tunnel around the goalpost, and when she neared enough, she she raised both hands and released the Quaffle in a graceful arc. It streaked crimson across the sky, towards the Huffle goalposts... and it went it!
Kalyn grinned her exhileration. First goal to Slytherin!
