Dovie gave a small smile. Yes, that would be wonderful. Should we meet outside? It's such a lovely day...Oh, careful! Dovie thought over, trying to get Teagan to watch out for the boy's foot that was placed in front of her.

Teagan gave a small hop over the shoe, and finally sat down at her own desk. Now, she could give Dovie all of her attention before beginning on her neglected assignment. "Outside is fine," Teagan mind-spoke to Dovie. Her new focus was making her voice louder than it had been when she was walking. "By the lake? The water will be pretty. Should we meet after classes, today? That would be a nice break."
Teagan pulled out a piece of parchment, her violet ink, and a defined black quill. She started on her homework.Charms: Uses of Wingardium Leviosa Teagan Monolayre Ravenclaw
The Levitation Charm, Wingardium Leviosa, has many daily uses. It's a charm that uses the standard swish-and-flick method. When used correctly, the chosen object levitates and can be moved to where ever the user chooses. It's very simple, and usually taught to students in their first year of wizardry school. If you pronounce the incantation well, and use the proper swish-and-flick method, the charm should work fine.
As I said before, this charm has many uses. If there is an object on a high shelf full of breakables, the Levitation Charm would be a wiser choice than Accio to get the object you want. If you were to use Accio, the object might push against the shelf in someway that could damage the other valuables. The Levitation Charm could also simply be used to get an object on a high shelf down, and into your hands. If you are rearranging books on a shelf, for instance, you could use the Levitation Charm to move the books if you're too lazy to get up or the shelf is high. If a cat was stuck in a tree, you could use this charm to get it down, though it's not recommended to be used on larger animals. If you needed to zig-zag something through an area for some reason, this would also be the spell you should use.
I have used this spell to put things out of people's reach in higher places, and I've used it to take things like Easter eggs out of trees and other high places during Easter. Another thing I've used this charm for is making things float around or in front of people; it's funny to confuse friends like this. The look of confusion on their face is adorable and cute. Pranks, and taking a disarmed wand from your opponent are other uses for it. If your opponent had a strong grip on it, this wouldn't be the most practical spell. Instead, I would once again recommend using Accio--it's much stronger. Of course, you could just use this charm at any time to defeat the boredom overwhelming you.Teagan blew on her the ink, and waited for Dovie's answer. "Wingardium Leviosa." She levitated the finished assignment over to the teacher's desk, and gently set it down. Now that was excellent. I liked the part about the breakables. Great job, Full credit (=10 Points)

Pika, strangely quiet today, walked up to the box and peeked inside. Feathers, paper that was balled up, cushions, plushies. They all sat there, waiting for someone to come pick them up to practice with. Pika picked up a whale plushie and hopped back to her seat.
She pulled out her wand. Alright...swish and flick she had said. Let's see... Pika practiced a slow swish and flick, trying to get the swish to look pretty and aim the flick at the plushie. She did it a few times more. Faster and faster. Hehe...this is fun!
She observed the class from her red eyes. Oh woah! she thought, her eyes widening, It's so simple for them. They've already starting their essays! She stared dully at them. I guess that's what happens when you're a first year...Everyone gets it but you. Pika sighed and turned back to the plushie.
She stared it down. Just you and me now. Grr... Pika glared at it playfully and glanced at the Charms text, searching the page for the words.
"Right then...uh...wing-Gar-deeum li-vee-O-sa...." She poked the whale plushie, smushing its face in, "You ready?"
Pika nodded and cleared her throat. "Wingardium Leviosa!" She did a well-practiced swish and flick at the plushie.
And it started floating in midair.
Pika stared at it in wonder and jumped up, "Oh yeah! I did it! My first time eh~!" She made the whale plushie zoom all around the room and made it drag across the teacher's desk, as if it were moving across.
She levitated it back into the box with a soft 'thud!' and pulled out her brown ink and quill, ready to start her essay.

“No student should ever feel silly asking a question, Mr. Ashlocke” Merry told him kindly. “There are no stupid questions, only unfair Teachers who are ignorant and bullying peers who are rude.” She smiled at the Class. “Aren’t you all glad there is neither of those kinds of people in this class? Next time you see your friend be sure to tell them that Asking questions is ok and the only way to learn.”
Suddenly a Whale plushy came zooming (abet slowly and in a floating manner) about Merry’s head. “Eeek!” She tracked down the Originator of the Charm and walked over. “Nice work Miss Pika, but you might want to try less zooming and add a bit more control.” then she laughed. "I don't think I've ever seen anyone Zoom a levitated object before."

Dovie gave a wide smile when she saw The Red Blur come into class. She smiled over at her and waved gently. And the plushies are off! Dovie thought over comically to Teagan. Yes, after class would be wonderful. It would be a great time for a break, especially since I've gone to.....to.....5 classes now, I think? Right after classes would be perfect. invite everyone that you know should come and we can all talk. Dovie finished and smiled at both of the girls.

"Okay, I'll try," Teagan sent back. "I'll see if I can get a hold of them. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to find at least one of my friends in the common room or our dorm room." After finishing her essay, Teagan had begun to sit quietly. Noticing something fly around the classroom, knock things off of the teacher's desk, and more, Teagan assumed, We have a beginner here. She looked around, and found the user. It was by a girl who was younger, but had red eyes and hair. This is interesting, she thought to herself.
Teagan realized the rag was still on her desk. Using the Levitation Charm, she began to make it drift along the ceiling. Like I said, it's used to fight boredom.

Shazza finished her essay and looked it over: Shazzamyn Xynorek Charms assignment
Wingardium Leviosa is a levitating spell usually taught to first years. When said correctly and with the proper "swish and flick" wand movement, it levitates what the spellcaster desires. Thus, giving them the advantage in situations ranging from random battles with trolls in the girl's restroom (OOC: Sarcasm in full effect), to extreme laziness.
Uses this spell would have on my life is to help me get things that are beyond my reach; me being a measly 5 foot tall. Other uses would most likely be for my sole entertainment, such as launching things at people out of pure and relentless boredom. This concludes my essay.Sighing, Shazza knew it was a piece of crap, but she decided to turn it in anyways. ' I hate essays...' Very nice, direct and too the point. (10 Points) You sound a bit bored to me dear, I hope our next assignment will be more fun for you.

Fuu stood up and headed to the teacher. She finally finished her essay. Due to her being a slow writer she was slow to turn things in. She handed Professor Divine her paper it read: Fuu Sunzaki
Wingardium Leviosa is a simple levitation spell. It is normally taught to first years with less experience. Pronunciation and correct flick and swish movement are very important. The cute little charm can be use in many situations, ranging from duels to getting a book from the top shelf in the library.
When duel it can be used to disarm an out of control opponent or cease the other duels actions. When reaching higher items it can be used to slowly bring an item to your level. Wingardium leviosa can also be used for the opposite of this. To place things into high places. If you are helping organize books or hiding something. This is more of a convince charm and its use it to make a witches or wizards life easier. She politely smiled and walked to her seat. Nicely put Miss Fuu. But is that what YOU used the spell for, or are those just possibilities? (8 Points)

Anna awoke from her daydream/daze to realize that class had started. 'Tsk tsk... Sleeping in class isn't very polite...''Shut up, Amadeus.' Anna snapped back. She opened her book and after reading the assignment, she headed to the teacher's desk. Grabbing a hackysack, she headed back to her desk, dropping the hackysack on it. Anna remembered reading about the charm Wingardium Leviosa during a random visit to the library, so at least she wasn't completely clueless. She practiced the 'Swish and Flick' and the pronunciation, and when she was comfortable, she recited "Wingardium Leviosa!" Nothing happened. Anna could hear Amadeus' laughter in her mind. Ignoring him, she tried the spell three more times before getting everything right and levitating the hackysack. Trying it again, she levitated the hackysack back into the box on the Professor's desk. Then she pulled out her quill and parchment, and started her assignment. Anna Riley Hufflepuff Charms
Wingardium Leviosa is a levitation spell which focuses on the 'Swish and Flick' movement when casting. Unlike Accio, which summons the desired object to the spell caster, Wingardium Leviosa allows the spell caster to levitate the object to where ever [said] spell caster desires. This charm is usually learned during the first year of magic schooling.
I would use this spell mostly to grab out-of-reach objects. Another use could be to move heavy objects without having to strain. It could also be used during a duel (such as levitating a rug from underneath an attacker). That's about all I'd use it for.'Wow, that was halfway decent.'Anna couldn't believe what she had just heard. 'Did you just compliment me?''No. It still sucks, but I was just saying it looked better than the other pieces of crap you write, which isn't much of a compliment.'Anna mentally glared at Amadeus. Satisfied with the work she had done, she levitated her essay to the Professor's desk and took out her drawing notebook to doodle. Beautiful! The Rug idea was very creative. Full Credit (=10 Points)

Post by Carmen on Jun 16, 2005 9:10:21 GMT
After watching various students perform the very simple looking spell of levitation from a shadow-cast desk, the Hufflepuff decided it was her turn to try out the new spell. The wand of hers was already placed on the table in front of her, grasped in her hand, and now after a rather cautious swish movement, the girl muttered "Wingardium Leviosa!" rather half-heartedly.
Nothing happened. Not even when she aimed the charm at the text atop the desk of hers. Her brow pursed together in a frown of frustration until it occurred to her. She hadn't made the 'flick' movement! With a mental palm-smack to her forehead, Carmen repeated the movement and call, adding in the flick which stopped suddenly facing her text book.
The book hovered lightly for a split second, then shot over the heads of some students, only to smack into the left wall. "Woops!" she cried out of embarrassment. "Sorry!" Deciding to be safer, she'd leave the book there until the end of the lesson, and write the essay Ms. Divine had assigned. Carmen pulled out her blue biro pen and began to scribble down her essay onto a piece of parchment.Wingardium Leviosa Carmen Thompson Hufflepuff House.
The charm of levitation, Wingardium Leviosa, is used in (I'd assume) all households around the world belonging to the wizarding people to levitate helpful objects to wherever they are needed. It is used by stating the name loudly whilst making a swish and flick movement aiming at the object needing to be moved, and is very useful anywhere, any time. The movement of the wand in the person's hand is the only thing that can control where the floating item ends up.
I have only been introduced to the wizarding world earlier this year when I first received the letter, but I would use this spell to remove any unwanted items if need be, collect the mail, shift heavy items like couches and various other things that would need moving. And perhaps if the time comes, I might have to rely on this spell to give something to someone in a dangerous situation! Who knows. All I know is that this spell definitely will come in handy. That second the girl put her pen down, she caught a side glance at her pen from another student. Perhaps there were people who didn't know about biros! Carmen winked a little, and moved to place the essay on the professor's desk. Very nice! Oh and Welcome to the Wizarding World! Er- a unique pen you have there Miss Carmen. Can you tell me where you go it? (10 Points)

Merry couldn’t help but notice the look on Miss Anna’s face when she delivered her work to Merry’s desk. She quickly followed the student back to her seat to ask her a question. “My dear Miss Anna, is something bothering you? You look very distracted. If someone is bullying you, Please tell someone who can help, such as myself or another teacher.” She looked kindly but concernedly at her student, wondering what could be the matter.

'Am I that readable?'
Anna blushed (her reddening face clashing horribly with her light orange/blonde highlighted hair), and couldn't help but smile, liking Professor Divine more and more. She looked at the teacher, choosing her words carefully.
'Too nosy, that one. Don't tell her anything.'
'What I say and do not say is my decision, not yours.'
"Well..." Anna began. "Someone is, in a way, bullying me, but it's... it's much more complex than that. It kind of goes back a long way."
She bit her lip and looked down. Should she tell her about the Everto Signum?
'And risk having the Hunters come here? Hell no, are you CRAZY!? What even makes you think you can trust her? She could be one of them for all we know!'
'I highly doubt it. She's too nice.
'Funny, they said the exact same thing about Ted Bundy. You women. Feh. Keep in mind, Anna: In order for them to get to me, they have to get you. And if that happens, We both die.'
The Inner Struggle must have shown on Anna's face; the Charms Professor was giving her curious-if-not-slightly-amused look that Anna missed.

"Well" said Merry, noting the changes in her student face were too rapid for this to be a regular case of bullying "If you like you can see me after class. We can talk privately then and if you like I won't tell anyone else. On the other hand, we could always get help for you together." She smiled, and pat Anna's hand.
"No one deserves to be treated badly just because a bully thinks they should. In most situations it's a case of bigotry or popularity and I won't stand for either." smiling again she returned to her class which was getting a but convoluted.
"Please! Don't use your own books or other objects unless the are soft and won't hurt anyone, just in case you loose control of them."

Zee carefully read the assignment, and got up. She walked over to the box and chose what looked like a feather duster devoid of its handle. Returning to her seat, she once again looked over the spell, scratching her head, and concentrating. Finally, she felt she way ready. "Wingardium Leviosa!" she said sternly to the feather thing, while performing the swish-flick as best she could. The feather thing trembled, then rose into the air. Zee guided it a bit higher, and floated it out into the middle of the room. Seeing as how she'd gotten it that far, Zee tried to direct it back over to the box. She made it, and wondered how to make it drop. She decided to try the spell she'd learned in DADA. "Finite Incantatem." she said, and the feather thing dropped neatly into the box. Zee grinned, and got out a piece of paper for the next part. She began to write: Zee Oddwyn Levitation Spell Ravenclaw Uses for the Levitation Spell can be found in abundance. You can use it for simple convenience, household chores, or even as a dueling technique. An example of convenience would be when there is a book on a particularly high shelf in the Library. Instead of calling the Librarian, or trying to climb the shelves, you can use the Levitation spell to bring the book to you. A good example of a household use, assuming that someone doesn't know a good scouring spell, would be to use the Levitation spell to lift a feather duster up to high places, and dust them. Perhaps one of the more pressing uses for the Levitation spell would be as a defence against attack (levitating your attacker can be quite distracting for them), and as an offensive manuever (drop them once you have them high enough.) In other words, there are many ways to apply the Levitation spell to real life, all you need is a good imagination. P.S. I'd like to ask you a few questions about charms in general. Is that okay? You may ask any question you wish Miss -er- Zee, but I'll have to ask you to give me at least two paragrahps before you ask them. Your next paragraph might be about how you, yourself would use this spell. So far you've only metioned how it could be used.
