Kyoske rolled his eyes. He had a feeling she was being a pest to the teacher. And he liked having points in their hour glass. So he slowly pointed his wand at her. It would be next to impossible for her to figure out it was him. She had her back to him. "Pondus Lingua." he muttered under his breath. A faint pink light hit Hayzie's back.
OOC: Pondus Lingua- Heavy Tongue in Latin( online translator so it might be a bit rough)... basically it will make her tongue feel very heavy so her speech will be all messed up.

Aidana Hawkins peeked through the tiny window into the Charms Classroom. She mentally kicked herself, this was the second class she had been late to! By the look of things, she was really late. People were practicing the spells, and things looked pretty fun. She quietly opened the door, and snuck in. She saw a faint pink light, which obviously wasn't the spell they were practicing. She used this to her advantage, and quickly sat down in the closest chair to the door. Aidana quickly pulled out her wand, and glanced at the board. Flying Charm? She could do that!
" Wingardium Leviosa!" she said, pretending she had been here the whole time.

Sylph, trying to ignore the noise and bustle around her, started to scribble away on her parchment, wanting to get thsi homework piece done and out of the way.
Levitation is one of the rudimentary skills for every witch or wizard. It is used in many situations and can be modified to float something in the air, making the object (as this charm is very rarely to be used on a person) fly, glide or hover depending on the movements of one's wand.
'Wingardium leviosa', being one of the most basic levitation charms, may be of great use in everyday life. For example, this charm is frequently used to obtain or place an object in a hard to reach place, such as a high shelf (my mother, being only five foot two, uses this charm all the time around the house). Alternatively, simple levitation charms may have defensive properties, used, for example, to remove an opponent's weapon or wand, although there are other ways of achieving this (through disarming charms etc.). Similarly, 'wingardium leviosa' may be used to prevent something crashing to the floor or into something or someone else. This has come in useful for me personally when a shelf of heavy books collapsed above my head, saving me a bad headache and possible concussion. Levitation charms may also be used to remove objects blocking one's path, if there is no way around them.
Simple charms such as 'wingardium leviosa' also form the basis for much more complicated levitation (and other) charms, allowing inexperienced students of magic to gain confidence before moving onto more complicated matters.Wow, I think you may have covered every single use for this charm in that middle paragraph. Very nice Indeed. (9 Points)

Hayzie, being who she was, kept on getting distracted while she was writing, both by spells that were going around the room and people talking, both to her and to their friends. However eventually, she had finished her paragraphs. Hayzie Roberts Gryffindor Charms -- Class 1
Wingardium Leviosa is a spell which is commonly taught at an early age, and one which proves useful in many day to day tasks. For example, if one was feeling lazy, and didn't want to lift their dropped quill off the floor, then they could use the spell to pick it up again.
Also, if in a duel situation, if you had unarmed your opponent, you could use the spell to lift the wand out of your opponent's reach and allow you to win... even if that wouldn't be fair. However the same technique could be applied if you found yourself in trouble. Finally, I feel that pranksters can use this spell quite effectively in their day to day lives, though I won't be mentioning how. With a small smile, Hayz looked up and tried to say "I'm done," but her words came out slurred, and it was then she realised her tongue felt bigger than usual. A shocked expression came over her face, and she looked at Kyoske, the only person sitting nearby. Very nice Miss Hayzie. A bit vague at the end, but we all have our reasons. (10 points)

Merry shrugged at Hayzie’s insistence that the joke was one that was already played at the breakfast table. Someday they would trust her. She could wait. Still she checked her back in the mirror once more to be sure.
“Just as long as you have time to do the work, Mr. de Lioncourt you’re not late in my book.” She told him bracingly. She looked around to find another student had also come in ‘late’, but had not tried to excuse herself.
“Hello Miss Hawkins,” said Merry coming over. “Are you being shy, today not to greet the new teacher? It’s fine, I’ll let you be, just be sure you have enough time to do the work.” She smiled fondly at the girl.

Ashlle looked into the nice blue eyes of the boy the professor had called Mr. de Lioncourt, they were nice eyes, and seemed to hold a deep sence of fairness in them.
"Well, Mr. de Lioncourt," She said primly "In the book is the Homework Assignment (she indicated the book in front of him) but other than that just levitate something from the box and you're done."
Ashlle held out her hand to shake. "My name is Ashlle Rainier -by the way- and I believe she is testing us to see what level we are on."

Shinjiki walked up to Merry and handed her his paper it read: Wingardium Leviosa is a extremely simple spell taught generally to younger students. It can also be used by teachers to test there students level of abilities. It is very useful when trying to reached something from a high shelf or just something you cant reach. Its seems more sensible to just find a really tall person but magic is just more fun.
Wingardium Leviosa is also very useful in combat. If you are dueling or fighting to stay alive it can be used to unarm an opposing witch or wizard. With a simple swish and flick one could easily win a fight.
He would admit he never was a great writer but if he seemed to take pride in his work and not look worried it may help him out. Lovely first paragraph, nice content, but the second paragraph is missing one sentence. I believe a paragraph is three sentences. Otherwise nice job. (8 points) Cute hinting at my motivations.

Cole followed the Professor's gaze to the other student that had come in late. He shook his head slightly not wanting to say how rude that gesture was to the teacher's intelligence. He turned back to the book and opened it. He was a fast reader so he read the text rather quickly. He looked at Ashlle "Thank you miss Rainier." He said to her quickly after reading the text "I think she wants to be sure we know our basics in magic." he said simply smiling at her He picked up a piece of parchment and dipped his quill in the ink. He thought for a moment then began to write Charms Class - Wingardium Leviosa Cole de Lioncourt, Ravenclaw Student
The Wingardium Leviosa spell is very useful in alot of different ways. First off the levitation spell can be used to lift heavy object or large objects our of yours or another's way. As well as to retrieve or set a object on a high station, such as a high shelf. This spell can also be used to disarm a unsuspecting enemy, by lifting the weapon or wand out of their hand and out of reach. I believe i have stated all the apparent reasons for the charm.
Other Practical uses of the charm may be used in school for things like fetching a book at the library, or in many of this school's case pranks, example a bucket of water or something of that natureHe looked over the page for a moment then waved his wand muttering a spell to dry the ink quickly. He looked at the teacher then raised his hand and waited to be called on. Nicely done Mr. de Lioncourt, clear and precise. Though -as I said before- a paragraph is at least three sentences. Your last 'paragraph' had only one sentence. (8 points)

Post by Aidana Hawkins on Jun 13, 2005 19:23:25 GMT
Aidana looked up to see Professor Divine standing next to her with a knowing smile on her face. To her delight, the Professor didn't look at all mad that she had made it to class a few minutes too late. " Sorry, Professor Divine," she said smiling sheepishly. " I'll get to work right now! And don't worry, I'll make it on time the next class." Aidana set down her wand, and was about to get her quill and a piece of parchment out from her bag, when she thought of something. Why not practice the spell a little more? The Flying Charm wasn't all that difficult, but practice was always good. She picked up her wand again, and made the correct wand movments: swish and flick. " Wing-Gar-deeum li-vee-O-sa she said, putting emphasis on all the syllables. Her quill and a piece of parchment neatly rose up from her bag and hovered in front of her. She grabbed both of them with her left hand, and got down to work. Two to four paragraph essay on how the spell would help her? That wasn't too difficult. She dipped her quill in ink and began to write. Aidana Hawkins Gryffindor Charms Class- #1
The Wingardium Leviosa charm is a quick and simple charm that comes in use in everyday life. This spell is mostly taught in beginners classes and is quite easy to master, though it may come in handy in different situations. The spell itself requires clear pronunciation, and a quick swish and flick movement which makes it quite easy to perform.
This spell can be used in a variety of different ways. For instance, it can be used to hover object towards you, if you don't want to get up and do it yourself. It is much easier to do than a Summoning Charm, and can be used in the opposite direction also. It can also be used to retrieve things out of reach, or things too far away.
Though it is useful in everyday life, this spell is ver beneficial during a duel. It can be used to float the opponents wand away from them, and like a Summoning Charm, this spell is masterd more easily than the Disarming Spell. Not only can it disarm your opponent, it can also be used to make different objects fly towards your opponent and hit them. If all else fails, you could use this charm to make your opponent fly and run them into a wall. So, as you can see, the Wingardium Leviosa is a versitile spell and can me used in many different ways.Aidana put her quill down and reread her paper. It wasn't the best essay she had written, but in what time she had, it was okay. SHe leaned back in her chair and relaxed, all her work finished. It's true the spell can do all that, but what do you use it for? Well I'm sure you must have used it for some of that. (9 Points)

[glow=purple,2,300]Tut, tut, tut, Aidana Dovie thought over, smirking, and stuck out her tongue for a second. Shame, shame....As if I'm not as bad! Dovie chuckled in her mind and shook her head, smiling warmly at Aidana. "Hello, pleasure, Miss Teagan..." Dovie stood, bowed slightly, and shook Teagan's hand. How does she know me, though!? was the one thing that kept repeating in Dovie's mind. What has she heard, what do people say about me? Dovie, however, tried not to let that concern show on her face and knew Teagan would, hopefully, say what she knew and who told her.[/glow]

Mel finished wrighting and put down her quill the parchment folded up and then disapeared and she put her quill away about 5 mins later an owl flew in through the window. it wasn't moon dust it was one of the school owls. No one would know the letter was from her that way.
The owl started flying around the classroom very confused. mel brought her hand up to her head and wacked it. "ug i should have picked a better owl" she muttered under her breath and when she put her hand back down the owl spotted Kyoske Ashlocke and dived and landed on his desk makeing his papers fly everywhere. Mel gasped *oops* she thought in her mind as the owl walked around Kyoske's desk and then stuck out his leg for Kyoske to untie the letter. Mel raised her hand quickly "Ma'am may i please be excused?" she asked "I have to... I have to use the wash room may i please go?".......

"Yes Mr. de Lioncourt" she said hurrying over, "What do you need?"

Kyoske looked and shruged tot he teacher as if to say 'don't ask me'. He reached out and calmed the bird by stroking it's feather's softly then untieing the letter. He read it quickly and wondered if the spell could be altered. He toke his wand out and muttered some words in a mix of latin and greek. The words he wrote would not be seen either but the words would appear on the sender's hand. ( again in PM).
He looked up at the teacher as he tapped the wand to finish the spell then ignited the parchment with a simple spell. "Sorry Professor someone asking me a question about the spell, they felt silly asking you for such a simple spell.... will not happened again i promise." he said calmly hoping she did not yell at him

Teagan had noted that Dovie also didn't expect her name to be known. Even though the change was slight, Teagan had noticed the change in Dovie. She smiled a little. It was comforting to know she wasn't the only one who had been confused.
"I'd better go. The teacher's getting antsy," said Teagan in her quiet voice. Her red eyes remained gentle, along with her tone of voice. Then, Teagan began to walk back to her seat.
"Dovie, should we meet later to talk? Sylph and others could also come," said Teagan in mind-speak to Dovie. She was carefully looking at the ground as she took each step; Teagan had tripped on things quite easily when she had spoken to her friends at her old home like this.
