Lumiere stared at the boy who had rushed in and sat down by Hazyie and in front of her. He seemed like some one she had seen before but it didnt matter. She looked aroung at the class working on their papers and she began to write.

[glow=purple,2,300]Oh, someone is so hitting on you.. Dovie sent over to the Prefect. And that's just from watching, I didn't read his mind... Dovie gave a wide, mischevous grin and hoped the girl took it as it was meant; light, harmless play. He's pretty cute, too... Why don'tcha flirt back..? Dovie stifled a bit of laughter and turned her attention back to.....Dun, dun, DUN! The exciting exploits of the FLOOR! Dovie sent out to everyone she knew could hear again and chuckled. Her way of saying she was keeping to her business. She was still, however, interested in meeting this Teagan, if it was possible.[/glow]

Hayzie flinched as an unfamiliar voice entered her mind, and looked around the room. Sure enough, one girl was looking in her direction, down at her shoes to be precise. Shaking her head a little, Hayz was about to reply when someone came and sat next to her. Smiling a little, the blonde almost missed his introduction as she sent back: 'Hayzie Roberts. And, let's say... I know a little of her.'
Turning back to the boy who had introduced himself as Kyoske, obviously a fellow Gryffindor from the badge on his robes, Hayz smiled. "Hi! I'm Hayzie. It's a pleasure."
For a few seconds, she concentrated on her paper, swapping quills over every now and again until Kyoske spoke again, asking if it was all. "Well, there's the spell and the paper after it. Do you need the question?" she asked, offering him her parchment so he could see the title on top.
Hayz heard Dovie's voice once more and went a little pink. 'Nuh-uh. I have an essay to write. Duh!' she sent back playfully. Sweeping one plait behind her shoulder.

Mhm, sure.. Dovie smirked and went back to staring at the oh-so-interesting floor. Pleasure, by the way, to finally meet you, Miss Hayzie. Sorry about the, erm, odd circumstances, though... Guess I'm just kooky like that! Okay, seriously now...back to the FLOOR! W00tness for floors! Dovie chuckled very lightly and did just what she said she would: stared at the floor. Ooh, nifty shapes...definitely going to have to draw later... she thought to herself as she memorized each interesting speck she saw. OOC: I've gtg now, chores are calling..blahhhhhhhh

Hayzie had to bite her lip to stop bursting out laughing, probably completely randomly to everyone else in the class, but it was likely Sylph could hear Dovie, too. Shaking her head and looking back down at her desk, still trying not to laugh, the blonde waited for Kyoske to finish writing down the question.

"Nice control on that Miss Teagan, a lovely performance."
Teagan blushed and immediately tensed. She wasn't expecting to be talked to by the teacher. Professor Divine started to urge the class on to their homework assignment. Teagan would have already started, but she needed to speak to Sylph first.
"Well, thanks anyway," said Sylph, almost as softly as Teagan's own voice. "If you want to know more abut what's going on end me an owl or something later on... I think we should get on with this now," she added, gesturing at her empty parchment and quirking a small smile. "Glad to see you're alright, anyways."
Teagan gave a small nod. "Okay. Thank you." She began to walk back to her own desk. Someone had been glad she was alright? Not that she hadn't heard that line before, but it had never been said to her. Teagan paused for a moment looking toward the ground, and then looked up.
The girl Teagan had heard of as "Dovie" walked toward her. It had to be Dovie. She knew their names, anyway. Dovie stuck out her hand, and Teagan hesitantly shook it. She wasn't used to shaking people's hands, or trying to make friends. "Yes. Hey, you're Dovie, right?" asked Teagan. The girl sat at a desk beside Sylph, and the area Teagan was standing in. Suddenly, Dovie started sending messages to a few people. Teagan could hear them, especially since she was so near. Teagan ignored the thoughts that were appearing in her mind, something she was good at.

Kyoske nodded and began to write down the question. His eyes moving from he paper to hayzie and the others in the class. He wondered what they were all laughing and giggling about. He decided it was not his business so he would stay out of it, at least till he was sure it didn't bother him. Once he wrote down the question he nodded to hayzie "Thanks for letting me get that off you." he said politely. She was biting her lip and he knew her rep as a trickster so maybe she was planning a joke on the new teacher. His eyes moved to the teacher and he felt a pang of pity, but he also smiled. He found life here at the school fun because it was exciting to work with all this magic and to be near kids who truly had a knack for it. He was good a transfiguration and charms but not much els. He had a steady hand in potions but it was not on the top of his favorite classes list. Kyoske Ashlocke Gryffindor Student, 7th year Wingardium Leviosa Essay
My belief is that this spell was designed to help in the common everyday house. The bother of having to always run across the room to get something is lessened by this spell. Of course is your not skilled with this charm the results can be a bit disastrous to say the least. But more so it is beneficial rather then bothersome.
The spell has been used in my life in a wide range of uses. To lift heavy books to the top of a large book shelf. Or lift a bucket of water tot he top of a door, as a joke on a family member or friend. The ability to levitate a object is a needed skill, without such basic skills the more advanced magic of this world would simply be to much for some students to handle.
Kyoske pulled his wand out of his bag. 10 inch, holly with dragon heart strings. He pointed it at the box of feathers on the teachers desk. He knew the words so when he said the words "Wingardium Leviosa!" He did the simple swish and flick of his wrist. He began to slowly lift his wand up, and with a smile he saw a feather lift out of the box. He lifted the feather some 7 inches over the box then motioned for it forward, or backward toward him. He looked at the professor to see if he was doing the assignment correctly. Lovely! Precise and to the point. Full credit (=10 Points)

Shazza tiptoed into the classroom after rushing to get ready because of oversleeping, and made her the way to the back of the room; none of her few friends were here to sit next to, and surprisingly, there was less people in the back. She found a desk in the corner of the room and dropped her knapsack beside it. Figuring out that everyone was doing the Wingardium Leviosa spell by the way various objects zoomed across the room, she smiled, remembering how her Grandfather would levitate her toys to entertain her, and how she'd practice the motions with her Tinkerbell wand she got for Halloween. "Swish and Flick, my dear, Swish and Flick!" he'd always tell her. It was the first spell she had tried out on the school grounds (succeeding to lift her trunk), so she knew that casting this spell would be a breeze. Whipping out her 7-inch Hazel wand with Phoenix Feather core, she pointed it at her napsack and said, ''Wingardium Leviosa!" Her napsack lifted off the ground smoothly, and with her direction, landed on her desk. 'I think I'm going to like this class' Shazza thought with a grin, as she grabbed her quill from her bag and began her homework assignment.

Sylph snorted loudly in an uncontrolled burst of laughter when she heard Dovie's thoughts. She couldn't help it. Stifling it though lest the teacher ask her what was wrong Sylph turned to her essay, but merely twirled her quill in her hand idly, unable to concentrate just yet. Instead she looked over to the boy that was apparently flirting with Hayzie. Sylph grinned over at the Gryffindor prefect and shot her a discrete thumbs up sign before breaking into silent fits of laughter. Charms class was great.

Mel was looking into the teachers eyes when Kyoske had entered and had looked in his direction allthe way to his seat he had sit inbetween where she was sitting and another gilr was sitting and decided to go back to her seat and hand in her work later. so she just told the teacher "never mind i will giveit to you when you arnt busy!" she smiled and walked back to her seat and sat down. "hello Kyoske Im melody." she said softly. she smiled sweetly and then took out another piece of parchment but this time not silver and clear ink aswell as a white quill not her black one. and began to write and to anyone who was watching there was nothing going onto the paper but to someone who knew what she was doing would know that she was writeing not on the parchment in front of her but on parchment that could be anywhere in the world or heavens... she smiled at Kyoske and continued on.....

Kyoske smiled at the girl. "Hello Melody, thats a very pretty name by the way." he said kindly to her. He was still working on a good prank to pull on Hayzie but by no means was he rude to a lady. He watched her writting something but didn't see anything appear on her paper. It was odd, how would she know what she was writing if she herself could not see the words. He often messed up if he looked up while writing.

Merry couldn’t help noticing many of the students laughing at what seemed to be a very regular class to her. She checked the mirror to see if they had play another joke on her but she couldn’t make out so much as a ‘Curse Me’ sign on the back of her Pink robes. “Can someone please share with me the joke?” she asked the class “I’m not a total dweeb, I can appreciate a good joke when I hear one.”
Suddenly noticing Mr. Ashlocke’s efforts Merry smiled at him. “Nice job Mr. Ashlocke. I’ve never seen someone do the Writing assignment first but what ever floats your boat.” She then laughed, having hear that particular saying in America, and knowing most of the students wouldn’t have much of and idea what she meant.
Once Merry was done with speaking to the other student she returned to Miss. Ravine’s chair. “If you can tell me what they hurry is, I will let you go.” She told her fairly.

Kyoske blushed slightly at the teacher's comment "Thank you, Writing is something i do for fun so it was the easier of the two for me to do, plus with the dread of a essay one does not enjoy their charms as much." he said his face still a little red. He stayed quiet about why everyone was laughing, because he felt it was none of his business. He did look at Hayzie as if to ask what to say about it, if anything.

Cole de Lioncourt, A simple boy, Black haired, blue eyes, about 5'11. He wore a simple enough black robe. His crest showed him as a Ravenclaw Student, which might explain the look in his eye as he read the board briefly. He sat down next to a girl. He didn't know her name and at the moment he felt it was rude to the teacher to ask such things "Professor I would like to beg a pardon for my lateness." he said simply to the young looking women. He read the board and figured the teacher had to be returning to basic principles, or else he got stuck in a very idiotic class.
The students may have been laughing at a joke he was not in on, he didn't think them slow. He looked at the girl next to him. "Is there anything that needs doin that is not up on the board?" he ask kindly to her. He didn't think being rude was a honorable thing. He didn't know the girl, and he was new, having just been sorted the day before he had no clue who anyone was.
That was the reason he had been late, he had simply gotten lost in the many halls. He had gone to three different teachers, who from the directions they gave all seemed to be new as well. He got the feeling he was just one of the flood of new blood into the school. His calm blue eyes fell on the girl's as he waited for her answer.

"Nothing, Professor," Hayzie replied, struggling to keep her voice level, both at Dovie's thoughts and Sylph's "discrete" thumbs up. Shaking her head a little, innocent green eyes and a straight face replied: "It's just something that happened at breakfast. See, we're all in the same house, and there was something going round... quite comical, really. And yes. So, it's nothing," she smiled, the mischevous glint back in her eye.
Canary Creams really were great fun. Little did the third year students know they were being offered them instead of custard creams.
