Rezna thought about it for a while. "Too many to list off, I guess. I can tell you the first spell I learned though. I was eleven, and had just gotten my wand from my parents. They had come down to the wizarding world on vacation and returned with all my suplies for school. Of course, they told me I couldn't start as a first year until I finished 8th grade in the muggle world. They said it served for stability. Anyway-"
Rezna swalowed a particularly dry chip before continuing. "My mother allowed me to practice in the safety of our home for the years I was to miss. My first masterd spell was Accio, considering I have a brother. We were always in fights and I loved the fact that I could steal anything of mine or his from him at will. It wasn't fair to him, I can admit that now, since he can't do magic. But four years ago, I could care less."
Rezna smiled at the thought of her older brother's exasperation when she won their duels. Many times, the girl found that she relied more on what he taught her than on her magic. It was for those reasons her dreams about losing him caused her so much pain. She felt like she owed him the protection he had given her.
Shaking her head to remove those thoughts, Rezna tried to smile at Ondrea as though nothing happened. "What about you? Any funny childhood memories?" Rezna covered her mouth too late. What if thinking about her past caused Ondrea to remember her father and the horrible past that tied to that. Rezna wanted to take her question back, but she knew the damage was already done.

Ondrea nodded, and laughed, "I think I have only really mastered a couple, but those ones are the ones I really use, because I seem to attract trouble." Ondrea said, smiling.
"I know what you mean, when your younger you really don't think much about how the other might feel, but only of what you want, kind of thing." Ondrea said, "But everyone is like that... at least when they are younger."
The next question Rezna said, hit her hard, but she forced a smile, when she saw Reznas hand cover her mouth, she didn't mean to hurt her. Rezna must be a good friend.
Ondrea thought of all the memories she had, the one she thought was the best, she said, "Eating dinner with my family, all being there and happy... for a change." Ondrea smiled, remembering that one night. She could remember it perfectly.
She was six years old, her younger sister was five, and her older brother was eight, and her eldest sibling was eleven. Her parents were smiling and laughing, and the cheery feeling seemed to be contagious, because everyone was happy. Ondrea could even remember the taste of the mashed potatoes, with the perfect amount of butter on them, and the chicken (she wasn't a vegetarian then) was so tender, it was probably the best meal she had, or would ever have.
Ondrea looked at the ground, thinking, "Only if he stayed that way... only if he didn't have the problem..." Ondrea stopped, once realizing that she had just said that out loud, and laughed, "I really have to learn to keep my thoughts, my thoughts, not my words."

Rezna looked at Ondrea's expression, it was that of bliss, of pure happiness. Surely what she was remembering about that dinner was a happy thing, so Rezna's question could not be forcing on her bad thoughts.
As her friend voiced her thoughts, Rezna nodded gently to the ground. "All I heard was a cricket, so don't worry, I heard nothing," she told her with a forced laugh. Of course, both knew that she had heard the other's comment, but Rezna wanted Ondrea to know that she was not going to intrude on the other's privacy.
"My family dinners were no where near that... positive," Rezna replied, trying to slip off the topic of Ondrea's father. The Hufflepuff was trying hard to keep her curiosity under control, and finally her self control was working. "My brother would always end up doing something, inappropriate, and we'd start arguing. Our parents learned to let us yell it out as long as we didn't go hostile. Once or twice I remember throwing food at him, usually something gross from my plate like broccoli or a carrot, but nothing more serious than that."
Rezna's green eyes became disfocused as remembered such a time. Alexi had spinach in his hair that time, and after all their arguments, both kids ended up laughing like crazy. Rezna could almost remember the feel of jello on her face.
"You know, Ondrea," she said softly as she kept gazing into her memory, "those were the best family times we ever had. I really do think that we all loved our fights to some extent. Right now, I'd give everything to relive those moments when my only troubles were escaping chores before my brother."
Her smile began to waver, as she came back to the present. Rezna was not at home, she was at school, a way different environment. She loved it, of course, but it was different. Trying to lighten her own saddening disposition, Rezna looked at Ondrea with a grin. "I have a feeling for jello all of a sudden, a gooey red mass of gelatin. It's weird because I don't really like jello that much."

Ondrea smiled, "My family dinners when we were all together were usually quite peaceful, however we rarely had a meal, all of us together and happy. I suppose that is why I cherish those memories."
Ondrea nodded in agreement as her friend spoke about re-living those memories, "I would too," Looking around the astronomy tower quickly, she returned her eyes back to Rezna, "The school is just not your home, there are rules against things you want or normally do, you aren't sleeping in your own bed, you can't go outside and ride a bike with your sibling," Ondrea let out a laugh, "You can't even fight with them."
Sighing as she gave her cat a friendly pat, she looked at Rezna, "But this is my home now, what I have to return back too is closer to hell then it is to my home."
Ondrea wondered into the land of her thoughts, letting a few of them slip into the real world, letting Rezna hear what she was thinking, "I feel bad for those kids in countries that would give anything to get away from their families, while we would give anything to be with ours. While our largest wish is to be with our families again, theirs is to survive, and get away from the ones who brought them into their terrible lives. The kids out there, that are afraid of the people who are supposed to bring you the most comfort, and happiness. I feel bad for them... even if they do have parents, and I don't, at least I had the privilege of being able to love my family and them to love me back."
Shadow looked at Ondrea a bewildered look spread upon his face, she never spoke like that to anyone, not even her own sister.
Ondrea laughed, "If I just said that out loud, that probably didn't make any sense at all."
Licking her lips, she nodded, "I usually have a great disliking towards jello, but now I really want some, I wonder if your cravings are contagious?" Ondrea said, a smile cross smirk coming across her features.

Rezna only nodded as she continued to remain def to Ondrea's thoughts. She understood the greater part of what the other said. Hoping to keep any further thoughts of family at bay, she adjusted the topic of the conversation.
"What's the harm in wanting a little jello. If it's not too watery you can even balance it on your nose," she replied with an innocent smile to Ondrea's upset smirk. "But really Ondrea, what was the craziest thing you've ever done? I just told you of my carrot war with my brother. Now it's your turn."

Ondrea laughed, remembering the 'craziest' thing she had done, really there were a lot, but she picked out one to tell, "Well, my friend wouldn't stop littering, and when I picked up their litter, they got like mad at me, and ripped it out of my hand and threw it back on the ground. I picked it up, and shoved it in their hand, and told them that they should stop being lazy and hold it for a couple of minutes. They just threw it on the ground again. So I told them that if they were going to kill the Earth, that they should just kill me too. So I walked out into the middle of the road, and sat on the ground, after telling them that I wasn't going to get up until they picked up that piece of garbage. They laughed at me, and didn't think I was serious, until a car came so close to me, they finally picked it up, and I got out of the way just in time... the driver was a little speeder. They haven't littered since though."
Ondrea smiled, "So what do you think about going down to the Great Hall to get ourselves some jello, and bring it back up here for a snack." Ondrea said this, forgetting that Rezna may not have planned to stay the whole night up there, but Ondrea herself did.

Rezna grinned at Ondrea's story. It was an interesting one for sure. And as the other suggested a late mid-night snack of jello, the 'Puff found it hard to refuse.
"I'd love to," she replied eagerly as she jumped up to her feet and looked down at her new friend. All signs of sleep erased from her face. "I can't promise that I won't fall asleep if we go up here again, but the sight of my face in jello was I sleep should be quite a sight."

Ondrea smiled, and then got to her feet, "I am sure that would be quite the sight." Ondrea said, as she imagined it, "I don't blame you for falling asleep if you do, I am like a zombie with a heart beat."
ooc: wow that was a short post, sorry. so shall we make a thread in the great hall... or just make our characters leave, and come back with jello?

(ooc: Rezna's really supposed to be in the hospital wing right now, so I'd rather not start a new thread. You wouldn't mind them leaving and coming back with jello, would you?)

Laughing, Rezna made her way up the stairs again and out into the balcony. She held a large plate of wiggling jello in her hands and fought to keep her balance as she sat down on the bench.
"It's so weird," she told Ondrea who was following behind her, "at home, ours was never this... um... alive." Picking up the fork on her plate, the blond jabbed the red mass hesitantly. "You sure it's not alive?" she asked her friend, her voice deadly serious.

Ondrea followed Rezna, looking cautiously at the red jello. Once reaching the top of the astronomy tower, Ondrea looked up at Rezna.
"Uh..." Ondrea said, her eyes falling down upon her jello, it seemed to be dancing/jiggling a lot more then usual, "It seems to be dancing... maybe it is a live."
As Ondrea said that, the jello had started to form what seemed to be stubs for arms and legs, and started to disco dance. Raising her eye-brows at the sight, she looked at it, "Oh my."

ooc: *shrugs* I can work with this.... bic: Rezna practically jumped up to her feet as she saw Ondrea's jello moving.
"You better tell me that this is your doing," she replied as she let out a ragged breath. Looking about the other girl, the blond tried to find her wand, in vain. Then, as she turned fearful green eyes at her own plate, she practically threw it onto the bench were she had previously sat.
"I know this is a joke of yours Ondrea," she said again, almost trying to convince herself of the fact, "because jello doesn't usually have arms or legs."
A memory of her first time in the great hall came to mind. Rezna had received a good scare when her breakfast appeared and disappeared from the table at odd intervals. Then, moving food was something to get used to, now it was something that she knew was not normal.

Ondrea looked at the jello, thinking Oh my... it was an entertaining sight, apart from the fact that food is not supposed to be living.
"I only wish this was my doing..." Ondrea said, Oh, I should keep that in mind though, might be a good trick... Ondrea thought, a smile crawling upon her face.
Cautiously, but willingly, she poked the glob of jello, and to her surprise it bit her! Yanking her finger away from the jello that now looked quite similar to a venus fly-trap the way it was snapping madly at the air. She looked at the tip of her finger, it had gotten a good piece of flesh off it, "Ever heard of a carnivore jello thing?" Ondrea asked, her eyes widening at the plate of jello, that had refrained from nipping at the air, but now was doing the macerina, what Ondrea assumed was his head facing her, as if to make sure she wasn't going to poke it again.

"No," Rezna replied as she walked a little bit closer to Ondrea and her living jello, "I've never seen or heard of carnivorous food."
Picking up the others' pencil, Rezna tried pocking the blob with it. "Did it bite you?" she asked, seeing Ondrea's quickly yank her finger back from the orange critter. Yet Rezna knew that it did.
"How dare you?" she asked it as she poked it a little bit more violently. To her shock, the orange thing wrapped itself around the base of the pencil and began spreading up the wood, consuming it as it went. On reflex, the blond yanked the pencil out of the jello blob making parts of it fly over her head and over the side of the tower.
"Um... Ondrea," Rezna began again, viewing the blob warily. "You don't think it would be better to move away from it. Then at least we can have a little spell practice with this guy. Or you can let Shadow pay with it," she suggested. She was quite surprised with herself, for she managed to joke around even when jello was out to get her.
'Elexi would be here in seconds, filming this whole thing,' she thought fondly. 'He would probably join the orange guy in his attack.' The thought made her even more sad. Since it was her fight with him over red jello that started the whole jello thing, and here she was, miles from home, getting attacked by nothing more short of living jello.
