Aidana stepped into the Dueling Hall, katana in hand. She sighed, looking around in the big empty room. It certainly looked like people had trained to fight here. Well, duel magically. Aidana wasn't here for that. She needed to learn how to fight physically. It was a good back up, in case her magic didn't work. She hoped that she was cut out for fighing. The only time she was in a fight before was months ago in the forest. She had been new then, and didn't expect a nymph to be so blood thirsty. Aidana winced, remembering how she had almost died that day. Her hand automatically went up to the thin scar on her neck. That wasn't a good day. This was why she needed to learn how to fight.
Aidana looked down at the katana in her hand. She slowly unsheathed it, looking intently at it. It was a long slender sword, that held immense power. She ran her fingers along the blade, careful not to cut herself. She snapped out of her reverie, and sheathed the sword again. She musn't get ahead of herself. Aidana looked around, waiting for Chris. She hoped that he could train her well.

Dante slithered into the room silently as he always did. Not a sound had been made as he passed through the stone wall. The being scanned the room quickly and recognized one young girl. His usual pitch black cloak shrouded him in darkness, his arms rested folded behind his back. In a poised glide Dante had traversed the short distance from the wall where he entered to the edge of the dueling stage. A wry smile crossed his face as he looked at the blade in Aidana's hands.
"A well crafted blade, but do you know how to use it?" Dante's pale, clawlike right hand stretched outward to the girl. "I could give you a sparring match to help you work up your skills if you would like." With this said Dante moved forward into a roll ontop of the stage so that he was at the same level as Aidana.

Aidana was so immersed with waiting for Chris, she didn't notice another presence enter from behind. She jumped as a voice spoke to her and whipped around to face one she had heard about. Some said he was soulless, that he had been to Hell and had come back. He certainly looked like he had. Her emerald eyes stared into his soulless ones. She clutched the blade, ready to draw it if he decided to attack. Maybe she would get her training before Chris came. The creatures hand came towards Aidana, but she backed away. What reason did she have for trusting him? Yet, he seemed willing to train her...
" Why would you help me?" she asked, drawing the blade. She knew that she couldn't hurt him, but maybe it would distract him enough for Aidana to get away.

Dante let out a cruel laugh as Aidana jumped back as she appeared to be ready to strike at a moment's notice. Dante plucked a spine off of the cloak sleeve and held it before her, a strange thing occurred as the spine that had been removed had another slowly growing in it's place. He held the bone-like spike between his forefinger and thumb. The look in her eyes showed something that Dante had not seen in a human's eyes in a long time, she had a look of fear and aggression. Dante looked back at her with his pure white eyes, no emotion at all.
His left hand lowered the cloak's hood to reveal his fallout-white hair and strangely tan skin even though it was always hidden away. "Strike the shard between my fingers if you want to test your aim. Attack to kill me as you would kill any other human if you fear me. I will not stop you, the peace of a grave would be welcome."
Dante stepped toward the girl, his heavy boots still made no sound. "Strike me, slash me, stab me, kill me, see if you are ready to strike another being with that blade, strike or else I will."

Aidana narrowed her eyes, looking straight at the being. She tried to show fearlessness, while really being unsure. Something he said really made Aidana think. He was fully ready to fight, if she was willing. But was she really willing? Was she ready to kill with this blade? She felt the doubt and uncertainty growing inside her. She was never one to kill, and she was doing this to protect others from being killed. Aidana shook her head, trying to get rid of these thoughts. She wouldn't win a fight if she was going to think like that. She held the blade upright, infront of her face. Aidana slowly nodded, accepting his offer. Who better to train with than one who was already dead?
" I would strike to kill you," she said. " But that is one thing I cannot do."
She quickly took the katana in her right hand, trying to get a loose grip on it. She narrowed her eyes again, aiming for the shard of bone between his fingers. She quickly lifted up the katana, and brought it down on the shard, neatly slicing it in half. On an instinct, Aidana kept up the fluid motion and brought the blade upwards. She sliced it toward Dante, and brought it to rest at the base of his neck. Aidana looked up straight at him, her heart pounding.

*A wooden sword flew in from the doorway hitting the sword Aidana held in her hands and jarring it free.
Chris stepped out into the room and closed the door behind him. He walked calmly toward the two.*
"Dante exactly what were you planning on doing here? And what did you do to have her attack you?"

Dante watched the blade soar through the air and slice through the spine. As the pieces of the shard hit the ground and the tip of the blade rested near Dante's neck. His eyes looked down at the blade and he laughed. "You can hit a steady mark, you have shown that. The true test is if you can hit your mark and take the next step. Like so," Dante gripped the edges of the blade and stepped back. As he moved backward he pulled the tip of the blade down.
In a lightning fast move he shot forward shoving the blade into himself. As he moved further along the blade he shoved Aidana's hands so that she drove the blade deeper and further up into his torso. He stopped moving when the hilt was touching his lower ribs and the blade tip was sticking out the back of his head. "Could you kill if you had to?" His face was inches away from Aidana's.
Dante walked forward through Aidana as though she and her sword were not there and as if he had never been touched. As he moved himself past the sword a black hazy smoke trailed behind him where the blade came out through his back. His black blood, similar to the haze that followed him, dripped from the blade into nothingness. Dante walked slowly back around in front of Aidana, there was no evidence that he had ever come in contact with the blade. The holes in his flesh and cloak had mended themselves quicker than the blade had entered.
He stopped and turned as Chris entered the room. He watched the wooden mock-up of a sword sail through the air and easily disarm Aidana. The new boy's words echoed out through the quiet room. "I intended to do the same thing that you do, give the girl a bit of practice with the blade. What did I do to have her strike? I commanded her to." Dante picked up the wooden sword and looked it over then extended it toward Chris.

*Chris accepted it and then looked at the bladed katana.*
"No one expecting to learn should expect to start off with a real blade. In fact if you would like a demonstration im sure Dante here would not mind."
OOC: remember Chris and Dante are not really friends in character

Aidana's muscles stopeed responding as the blade came to rest on Dante's neck. She was startled when he didn't do anything to defend himself, but instead he took the blade and pointed it at his own torso. She had a shrewd idea what he was going to do, but before she could let go, he had taken her hands in his and was forcing the blade deeper inside him. Aidana could only watch, horrified at what she was being made to do. Then at last, the whole blade was inside him, and he was only inches away. She closed her eyes, and shuddered as he passed through her. For a second, it felt as if all her blood had turned to ice, and her soul would be stolen. Aidana's eyes opened to see a black haze surrounding her, and black blood dripping on the sword. Dante was now in front of her again, and there were no wounds covering his body. Perplexed, Aidana reached out to touch where the blade had entered him, but a wooden sword flew at her. It hit her right hand, and she dropped the katana. She turned to see Chris walking towards them. No doubt he was wondering what was going on. Dante explained, but made one mistake.
" I didn't attack you because you ordered me," she snapped. " I did it because I needed the training. I don't take orders from anybody."
Aidana bent down, and picked up the fallen kitana. She nodded, wanting a demonstration. Then maybe she would have some idea how to fight properly. She offered the katana to Chris, knowing it would probably be better to demonstrate with a real wepon.

OOC: Dante could care less if Chris got hacked into tiny pieces. Also, Aidana - I'm so glad you don't suck at this, in fact you are quite good. BIC: Dante looked at Aidana carefully as she replied to Chris. "I told you to strike and you did, it was an order and you obeyed. You followed an order.Though it may have been indirectly, you followed an order." His eyes looked over the blade again as the girl picked it up. He had seen many blades like it in his past. Although the blades of his past were never used by a kind hand or for a noble purpose, only to kill mercilessly. Dante looked to the scabbard that belonged with the katana and stretched his hand out toward it. "Girl, give me the scabbard." He commanded her again, only this time his voice showed that he would not hesitate even for a second to take it from her forcefully. Dante quickly sized up Chris and accepted the challenge of demonstration.

OOC: Why thank you, Dante! But you know Aidana won't made this easy for you right? ;D
Aidana's eyes widened in indignation. Who did he think he was, commanding her again? And right after she had just said she didn't take commands. He had some audacity to do that! Well, Aidana wouldn't stand for that. Was she willing to anger a being who could kill her in a second, just to back up her point? Yes, she was. She stepped away from Dante's outstretched hand.
" No," she said simply. " I'd rather have Chris use it. Beside, I'm sure you have another blade."
She smiled sweetly, but her eyes held the look of a challange. She didn't take orders from anyone, and he would learn that. Again, she turned to Chris, and purposefully offered him the blade.
OOC: Ack...crap post. >.<

OOC: You know that "scabbard" is the proper name for the sheath of a sword, right? I'm just making sure you know what Dante's asking, because there's no sense in you geting beaten for nothing... besides my personal amusement ;D
Dante looked at Aidana. She had guts, but no brains. His eyes looked over her grip, it needed work. This was something he would make sure to teach her. If disarmed in battle she'd have no escape. He began to rock side to side and began a low chant. In a matter of seconds he had gone from stationary to a moving blur, it was only the begining. Dante shot forwards and with a drop kick to the tip of Aidana's katana and a hard smack to the inside of her forearm and the blade fell to the ground.
He did not stop with disarming her, he had not acquired his goal yet. Dante grabbed her by the lapels and threw her at the wall. Her body flew as though it were nothing and hit the wall suprisingly lightly. That was because Dante had moved himself in between the girl and the wall to soften the blow. As Aidana fell to the ground Dante was on top of her again. His knees pinned her arms underneath them, he was in a position so that her legs could not possibly reach him. Dante's hand dropped down to pick up something at Aidana's side, the scabbard.
With this in hand Dante jumped up and walked back over to where Chris was waiting. As he walked he looked over the scabbard, Dante always had a very strong interest in weapons. "Get to your feet girl! Lying down on the job can get you killed in this buisiness." He called out, his voice was rough but also mocking at the same time.

*Chris without warning and grabbed Dante's lapel. Holding it tight he looked into his eyes. There was no smile on Chris' face this time.*
"You think youre all that powerful? The point is to teach her how to weild a blade not the lovely art of rag doll physics."
*Chris let go of the shirt and went over to pick up the scabbard. He then picked up the katana and placed it safely back inside. Finally he walked over to Aidana and helped her to her feet.*
"Dante you play games which you shouldnt."
*A stern looked crossed over Chris' face as he stared down Dante.*
"Do not get involved."

OOC: A mistake anyone could have made...
Aidana raised one eyebrow as Dante, started to hum and move back and forth. It was quite odd, considering the situation they were in. And what good would that do anyway? She found out a second later. All she could see of him was a blur, and suddenly a foot came out and hit the kitana, knocking it out of her hands. Then Aidana felt herself get lifted up by the lapels and thrown across the room. She flinched, bracing herself for a hard impact. Strangely, none came as she hit Dante. She fell to the ground, getting the wind knocked out of her. She tried to stand up, but Dante had pinned her down by the arms. Then calmly he picked up the scabbard, and got off of her. Aidana tried to take a deep breath, but it pained her. She watched with satisfaction as Chris threatened Dante. Then it occured to her what was the point of doing all this if someone else had to stand up for her? Nevertheless, she took Chris's help getting up. She was doubled over her stomach, as it hurt to stnad up straight. Aidana threw a scathing look to Dante.
" You didn't teach me anything, except how to take pain. And I've taken worse pain than that!" she said, her voice somewhat broken because of the pain. Aidana stood up straight, and stretched out, trying to surpress the damage. If she was in a fight, she would have to learn to ignore minor hurts. Dante puzzled her, something about him was very odd. He had become angry at her for a small thing and thrown her across the room. Yet, he had tried to soften the blow. That didn't make sense at all. Aidana frowned, she would figure him out.

OOC: There are a couple things I'd like to point out. 1 - the scabbard is in Dante's hand, he picked it up and never even mand the offer to hand it to Chris. If he went through the trouble to acquire it he won't give it to you unless you give a very good reason. 2 - Dante didn't do anything that would cause much pain at all, in fact he purposely did what he did so that you would get the point but never hurt. 3 - Dante isn't wearing anything that has lapels on it and he's about 6'5", undoubtably taller than Chris.
Dante gave Chris a cold look when Chris attempted to intimidate him. Chris obviously didn't understand any of Dante's actions. "First, what is the girl's name? Second, do not touch me. Third, you don't ever want to be this close to me. Fourth, it is the girl's choice if she want's to be trained by a soft mentor or a veteran of Hell." He held the scabbard firmly about an inch from the mouth of the scabbard. He moved back two steps and raised the hollow object. "If you feel so confident, make your move. If not, let me give the girl a brief instruction about the blade."
"Girl, I have been teaching you a very valuable lesson. That would be when to obey orders, and when not to. Only do so when it is to your benefit or to your least consiquence. Come here and answer one question for me. Do you want to learn from him, or me?" As he spoke he had turned his back on Chris and had lowered himself so that he was almost kneeling. When he asked the question he pointed to himself and to Chris with the scabbard.
