Kiki stared at Rose for a moment, shocked. She hadn't recognised Claire. This was indeed quite bizarre.
"G-" Kiki changed her mind mid speech. She wouldn't bring anymore alienation onto this new Rose yet. She would say 'Hello', not 'G-Day'.
"G-Hello Rose," Kiki smiled warmly to the woman who was her best friend and felt the hurt slamming through her that there was no flicker of recognition behind the eyes.
"My name is Kiki. Claire, Amelia, Whisper and I would be more than happy to help you," Kiki bit her tongue to stop her from adding 'love' on the end of the sentence as she was so used to doing. She smilled softy at the Valkerie Elder in greeting. The pair had been talking in the Ministry not too long ago, and Kiki had not been expecting to run into her again so soon.

Amelia hovered by the door. She had never met either of the head's in person; only seen them from afar. And now she was in their private chambers when something terrible had obviously just occured.
She nodded at Rose as her name was mentioned; she would be more than happy; privilaged to help. But Amelia was just a lycan; a ravenclaw student before that and she knew not how she could be of help.
Amelia was still in the dark about what had happened and couldn't stand it any longer. Miss Claire, what happened? Why is Miss Rose like this? Is she going to be alright? she asked the headmistress telepathically. She hoped that Claire wouldn't mind the intrusion into her mind but Amelia didn't want to worry Rose by speaking her questions out loud.

Claire heard the Lycan's words speak in her head and turned to face her. Amelia, honey, don't worry. Rose is going to be fine. It does seem that she cannot remember anything about us or this place, but we don't know how long this will last. She may snap out of it... Claire closed her eyes away from Amelia and whispered a small, silent, private prayer.
Looking up again at Amelia she saw the look of worry and helplessness that all in the room were feeling.
You've got to take charge, Claire.
"Kiki, it's good to see you again," she said looking up to her as she stared at Rose. "I'm going to have to get you to try and help us find whoever did this." Claire moved and opened her bedsit table drawer. She removed a piece of parchment and then her wand from under her pillow. Flicking the wand at the parchment and closing her eyes, a picture, a drawing of the evil that did this to Rose, emerged.
Handing it to Kiki she realised that there wasn't much to go on, but maybe his build or height or something would be useful. The picture showed him in his long black robes, holding the vial... His face was hidden as it had been in the room when he had....
"Tell only those who you need to, please, Ki. We don't need people panicking. Try and find out as much as you can about him - how he got in here, why he doesn't like Rose and I, how he seems to have taken Rose's memory. Especially if there is any way we can reverse what he has done to her, or if it is going to wear off. We need to know who he is. Whisper may have got rid of him, but there could be more coming for us." Claire looked determined but pleading as she set out a task to the Ministeress, as if she was a teacher or student.

Amelia continued to watch Rose silently; she wanted to help so much but still didn't know how to.
"Could I do anything? I mean fetch something or..ah ha!"
Amelia opened her cloak and reached deep into one of the inside pockets; she pulled out a packet Bertie Botts Every Flavored Beans. Hesitantly she walked closer to the bed and outstretched her arm.
"Its not much; and I already had a few...but would you like these? The sugar might do you some good; I know they always cheer me up except that time when I got one that tasted of squished beetles!...And when ever I eat them they remind me of the last time I ate them...so maybe they will help you to remember something...its a lame idea I know but..."
She stopped her babbling. And smiled at Rose, then nervously glanced at Claire who she expected might have a confused expression across her face at Amelia's actions. she shrugged and gestured the sweets towards Rose again.

Claire smiled at Amelia's gesture. "It's true, I always remember the last time I had a particular flavour, though it's not always very often that I do get repeated flavours."
She looked down to Rose, looking lost and helpless. "Go on," she said in her most reassuring voice, "they won't hurt you and they sometimes actually taste good!"
Claire took the bag from Amelia and help it close enough to Rose so that she could take one, but not too close that she would move away from them.
If she takes one, please let it be a good flavour... Don't let her think we are poisoning her...

Kiki nodded to Claire then tucked the parchment inside her robes, resolving to do whatever she could.
She smiled slightly at the idea of Amelia offering Rose something as simple as Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans, but barely paid attention to the dialogue unfolding in front of her. She examined the picture, frowning and wondered how she would be able to find information on this guy. He certainly managed to cover his tracks well enough. She might appoint some people from the Department of Mysteries onto it perhaps. There may be a prophecy hidden somewhere within the depths of that place.
Kiki wanted to start immediately, but pushed the thought away as she considered her possibilities. Someone, besides Claire - who was quite clearly shaken up - and Amelia - who was a student and was possibly not as skilled in the magical arts just yet - had to remain here with Rose to protect her in case the being returned, as Claire had suggested. On the other hand, Kiki wasn't entirely sure whether it was such a good idea to be performing magic in front of Rose, who was bewildered enough as it was with her surroundings, let alone the magic that may happen. Then again, perhaps it may be better to surround Rose with magic so she could get used to it and think of it as somewhat normal.
Kiki sighed, clicking her fingers impatiently as she tried to figure out the best option for her at this point.
To hunt, or to wait?

Rose's mouth dropped open as Claire took out a long wooden stick and a drawing seemed to come out of the end of it, culminating in a very detailed drawing of the hooded figure that had been consumed in purple flame. Her hazel eyes very wide, she shook her head slowly, realising that these people were either trying to scare her, or, or... no, don't be ridiculous, she told herself.
"Wh-wha-?" she barely managed before Claire went into a long spiel, addressing the black-haired girl Rose hadn't noticed in the room previously. Presumably she had been standing behind them the whole time.
Amelia offered Rose something she'd called... what was it? "Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans", yes, that was it. Feeling absolutely terrified by now, she kept shaking her head from side to side in pure disbelief.
"Wait a second," said Rose, more forcefully than intended. "What the hell is going on here? I might not have a memory but I can understand what you are saying... mostly... and I want to know what's happening! And... and..." She glanced fearfully at Claire's wand. "What the hell are you people?"

Claire watched as Rose looked towards her wand and asked her the question that Claire knew would come, and feared. She feared Rose's reaction - she was older now then when she had been taught about it; about Magic, about the schools, about what she could do...
Claire glanced up to Ki, who was still standing by the fireplace. Shacking her head slightly and taking a deep breath in which she tried to figure out what to say, she looked softly down to Rose.
Straightening up her body to Rose, she'll know I'm not going to hurt her, Claire started her explanation.
"Rose. Myself, Kiki and Amelia," she indicated both of them in turn, "we are magical. We have magical powers." Claire didn't let Rose react, she had to keep ging - make her understand. "We are witches, good witches." Claire lifted up her wand and held it out to Rose. "Take it, go on. Feel it. It's not bad. Just hold it, and I'm sure you'll feel that is made of good."

Rose's eyebrows shot up as she heard what was supposed to be their explanation for everything. It sounded ridiculous. OK, so right now she couldn't think of any better explanation... but it couldn't be! It wasn't possible! Magic?!
A doubtful smile teasing Rose's lips, she took the wooden stick Claire called a 'wand' from the girl's hand and let it rest in her palm. She didn't feel anything different. It just felt like a wooden stick to her.
Remembering how Claire had held it before, Rose turned the wand around and held the thick end of the stick with the thin bit pointing upwards. Suddenly, a warm, glowing feeling shot through Rose's arm, and from the tip of the wand, a few teeny-tiny gold sparks emitted from the end, barely visible, but most definitely there.
"Wha-? Omigod!" shrieked Rose, and dropped the wand, falling right out of the bed onto the stone floor with a thud. She stood up shakily. "What was that?"

Kiki couldn't help the cry of relief that escaped her lips as Rose managed to conjure up sparks just by having a physical connection with Claire's wand. It wasn't a whole new Rose, just a Rose that didn't remember anything of her past and had strange eyes. Kiki walked over to Rose's side of the bed and offered her her place on the bed once more.
"Congratulations, you just performed your first piece of magic," Kiki smiled slightly at Rose, who was clearly bewildered.
"Kiki Micheals," Kiki re-introduced herself, and sat on the floor in front of her friend. She glanced at the wand sitting amongst the folds of the sheet then back to Rose.
"Please, give us an open mind. We won't hurt you so you needn't fear us," She pulled out her own wand and twirled it expertly between her fingers, looking at Rose for a reaction.
"Do we have your trust?"

Amelia watched with a raised eyebrow as Rose declined the sweets; every witch and wizard loved them!
She didn't know who to address; both Rose and Claire were the headmistresses; however Rose seemed to have forgotten who she was not alone what magic was!
"Ah...Claire. Erm...isn't there something the nurses in the hospital wing could do or is this" she pointed to Rose who was sat on the floor with a look of disbelief across her face "...is this something like a hex?" Amelia whispered the last word as if it was a curse word.
She then continued to fidget with her hands; she was only a young student and felt very nervous in such adult situations. Normally when she felt all helpless like this she would transform to her Lycan form; because at least then she had the physical strength to protect herself. But she felt with Rose in her current condition, that it wasn't such a bright idea.

Rose laughed nervously as Kiki spoke. So she... she was... magical? Those sparks she had created were because of magic? It could just have been some trick of the light, or a prank everyone was pulling on her...
Her hazel eyes lifted slowly to the winged girl who was watching quietly from the window sill. Her strangely violet eyes and too-perfect appearance matched with the enormous wings that stretched out either side of her slim body was too much. It couldn't be fake. It was all too much, too much to take in...
Feeling dizzy, Rose slowly got back onto the bed and leant back against the soft pillows.
"So... I'm... magical," she breathed. Wiping some stray curls away from her damp forehead, she sighed heavily. "But I don't understand still. So something... magic happened to me? To my memory?" She folded her arms across her chest and shook her head. "Let me guess... I hate magic, right?"
With a heavy sigh, she leaned back completely. She was tired.

Whisper had been watching the scene unfold in silence. She knew, deep down, that she had recieved her blinding vision in order to save the Headmistresses - or at least one of them - and that her duty now was to turn and fly right back to the Hideaway and rejoin her sisters for dinner, without a second thought. It was not her duty to become bodyguard to the Headmistresses, nor was it her place to provide them with the information she had concerning her vision... but something deep inside Whisper, deeper than she had ever cared to search, resolved her to stay, and help however she could.
"If I may quickly interject," spoke the Valkerie quietly, after the quite stunned response to Rose's last statement, "...I believe I may have some information regarding the intruder."
She closed her eyes for a moment, recalling the vision, bringing herself to re-experience the terror and evil that had come attached. Shuddering as she pulled out of it, she opened her now snow-white eyes and turned to Claire.
"He has not been killed, I am afraid. My flames usually leave some trace of spirit I can sense when they are killed, but I recieved none. The magic I sensed from him was also different... it is not of this country, nor any I have visited, but it is powerful - it must have been to escape my flames. Nobody has ever achieved such a thing before." A sullen silence seemed to fall uncomfortably before Whisper pressed on even more forcibly. "He is here to bring the downfall of the goodness that yourself and Rose have sown throughout your years at the school. From what I have seen... he is here to set evil where good now resides, and he has a good chance of succeeding."
Whisper turned to gaze out at the skies. She could feel the evil that the stranger was spreading already. It was pure, untainted, and yet... and yet...
"He is human," she said again, even more softly than before. "He is a human being, though it is barely sensable underneath all his magicks. He has never had emotion, nor shall he ever. The only way to win this war, on either side, is with death."
As soon as she had finished, her huge wings beat the air and, so fast it was almost as if she had never been there, she swooped out of the castle window and into the night.

The flapping of leathery wings attracted the wolf's attention. Glancing up, he watched the un-worldly beautiful Valkerie take flight from a high-up window, the window to, unless he was mistaken, the Headmistress's tower. The scent of magic scorched his nose. Golden eyes focused upon the tower for a brief second longer, and then the Lycan began loping for the front doors.
He burst inside, accidentally knocking aside a few students as he bounded up the stairs, eventually making sure to blend in with the shadows as he ran so as to not attract any unwanted attention. His paws found each step with precise accuracy, instinctively knowing a fall at this point may cost him a lot more than a few bruises.
Finally, he reached the door he was looking for.
Slowly, the wolf padded forward, ears cocked for the slightest of noises. Unwilling to leave the safety of his wolfish form, he reared up against the door and pawed at it, the lupine version of a knock.
Miss Claire? Miss Wilting Rose? Is everything alright?

Rose looked up as another person entered the Tower. No, not person... wolf. A stab of terror pierced her heart like ice as she heard an echoing voice in the back of her mind... The wolf's eyes burned into her as the voice spoke her and Claire's names.
Sighing shakily, she pulled the covers of the bed right up around her neck. There was no point in saying anything, really - she couldn't contribute. Everyone was treating her like a child, which she was pretty sure she wasn't, and without her memory she didn't have much to offer anyway. Besides, how on earth does one communicate to a psychically projecting wolf?
Rose's eyes slowly turned to the empty window sill where, moments before, the winged girl had revealed what she had Seen. It seemed like there were bad things happening, or about to happen... and Rose didn't know quite why, but something told her that this was just the beginning.
