Rose awoke suddenly from a dream.
Her mind suddenly fully alert, she scanned the room as she propped herself up on her elbows, her heart beginning to thump in her chest. She hadn't been dreaming anything out of the ordinary... dragons again... and yet something had propelled her out of her slumber.
Having looked around the room and seeing nothing, she turned to look at Claire, who was still snoozing away. With a soft smile, she bent and placed a tender kiss on her cheek, and settled back down between the warm sheets, her eyes occasionally darting around the room before sleep took her gently by the hand and led her back into the unconscious realms.

Claire felt Rose's soft kiss on her cheek and felt herself smile in her dream. Rolling over and stirring, she saw Rose who was had fallen back to sleep immediately, which wasn't like her at all...
Claire position her hand under her head so that she could look over the bump ion the duvet and watch Rose sleeping.

Not the slightest sound betrayed the break into the Headmistresses sleeping Quarters. Though the night was stiflingly still, the doors opened without creak, the stairs tiptoed up without footsteps, and the charms placed upon the Tower broken with no visible force or effort.
From beneath a hanging veil of gauzy material, a pair of invisible eyes watched as one of the Headmistresses awoke and immediately looked around the room for a sign of any difference.
This must be the one with the Sight, thought the person to whom the eyes belonged, and he smiled an invisible smile as he watched her drift off to sleep, and her blonde counterpart awaken to turn and watch her lover sleep. He awaited her own return to slumber, but it would not come. Growing impatient, he waited. The prophecy foretold that the pair would be lost in a deep, enchanted sleep... It couldn't go wrong now, not after all he had sacrificed to get here...
He stood, and waited.

Claire watched Rose breathing shallowly until her eyes drooped and took her into unconsciousness. Dreams of a train station and of a need to get on it, to get to Rose who was far away and lost. But the trains kept leaving the platform when she reached them...

The unseen figure allowed himself a grin as the blonde fell asleep, the two rulers breathing in time with each other as they slumbered in their overdecorative bed.
He stepped out with silent foot from behind the floating screen, and removed his invisibility shield. A heavy cloak protected him from seeing seen - all but the lower half of his face; a golden brown chin and perfect skin and mouth completely unblemished, unremarkable. The mouth twisted into a grin that had clearly never shown any mercy in all its days.
A gloved hand reached into the folds of the cloak and reappeared holding a delicate glass vial, coloured in green and gold, looking somewhat Egyptian in style. Removing the stopper, the sable figure began to speak in a language no human had before heard - muttering slowly, deliberately, he held out the vial towards the first of the sleeping figures, his hand untrembling as he did so. He was fulfilling the prophecy. He was going to bring Darkness to Magic Horizons, and the whole world with it.
A golden beam shone from the sleeping Headmistress. Shuddering within her enchanted slumber, it filtered slowly into the vial, filling it halfway with a pure light so hot it was almost unbearable for the man to touch.
One down... smirked the cloaked stranger, and held out the vial once more towards the other Headmistress, ignoring yet understanding the shadows as they creeped across the room that was once filled with only goodness and light.

"Stop, stop!" Claire shouted as the train pulled away for what felt like the millionth time. "I have to get home, I have to get to her!" she screamed but there was no way the train was going to stop - none of the others had.
She felt a jerk and fell to the ground - there were wooden floorboards, uncomfortable to lay on. As she lay there, the boards started to melt and soften until they fit her form and she was comfortable. Mmmm... she sighd as she started to drift into dreams. Whats with all the creaking? Shut up! she mumbled to herself as the boards started moving and making her uncomfortable again.
One big creak and one big shove, brought her back to her bed, in the Tower, with her Rose.
Stirring, Claire rolled over and opened her eyes a little to see her Princess. She was there; quiet, alone and cold. Claire hadn't touched her, but Rose was cold. Lost. Different. Sittting up quickly, Claire looked down at Rose and then up to the dark figure.
He held a small bottle, filled with a glowing light, a liquid. "NO!" she cried as she lifted up her hands into a cupping shape and shouted "GENERO!" A ball of light formed in her hands, swirling and expanding.
Claire removed one hand and pulled the other back behind her shoulder. With all the power she had, she threw it right into the cloaked figures abdomen.

The figure stumbled; a low, rumbling noise came from where it's mouth should be. It lifted it's cloaked head to look directly at the attacking Headmistress.
"Foolish witch," he rasped, in a voice that sounded like the angry rustle of the leaves in the trees on a blustery day. He muttered something in the same strange language, and he disappeared instantly, though his merciless voice still echoed around the Head's chamber. "You may be powerful, but tonight you and all your powers of Light and Good are not destined to defeat me. I shall bring terror, and destruction, and, in time, Death. Both you and your lover will die at my hand... just give me time."
In the darkness, the vial, still glowing, lifted from the floor as if by itself. The stopper was removed, and floated gently, eerily, towards the second Headmistress. An evil chuckle sent chills around the room.
"Say goodbye to all the magic you ever knew..." he murmured, and then began to incant the same strange words he had said before, all the while holding out the vial to capture what would come out of Claire.

An explosion of purple flames shook the chamber; all the pretty veiled hangings that decorated the ceiling and walls swiftly caught on fire and withered slowly to the floor, defeated. The almighty quake caused the sleeping Headmistress to waken, and all eyes turned to the window.
There, crouched low upon the sill, was a Valkerie with black wings outstretched, pure white eyes rolling madly in her head.
Whisper stepped with grace from the window sill. Without prior warning, she let out an ungodly screech, filling the room with a sound almost unbearable to hear. Outstretching her hand, she allowed a ring of tall purple flames to encircle the bed of the Headmistresses. She whirled about to face the intruder, her beautiful face marred by rage.
"Perhaps they cannot interfere with destiny, but I can!" rasped the enraged beast; and, with another screech of sheer power, she threw an enormous fireball at the cloaked figure.

The cloaked figure stared in disbelief at the strange creature beneath his shadowy hood. He had never seen any creature like it before... her appearance was flawless, a goddess in grace - but the leathery wings that protruded from her back were clawed and vicious, fire was a power only granted to demons, and her eyes spoke of a realm untouched by the human race.
The Valkerie's scream sent him collapsing to the floor - it was as if his ears were going to explode, it was too loud, too high, too unnatural!
He realised her power in time to place a weak shield around himself; as the furious creature threw her powerful fireball, he muttered a few words and disappeared from the room completely, leaving no trace he had ever been there in the hope that all within would presume him dead.
He reappeared just outside the school gates. From beneath the cloak came a low, heavy, rasping breath of frustration. It was clear that his plan could not go ahead. He had begun the Final War by stealing all of Rose's magical memory, but the scale was not so dramatically tipped in the favour of evil as he had planned, with the unexpected defence of an unknown creature defending him from removing Claire's aswell. Still... he had rid Magic Horizons of the purest source of good magic known in over a century.
Rose was helpless, and the school was weakened. A prime time for making allies, and spreading evil on grounds no longer evil.
A jagged smile sank into the grim face, still hidden by it's hood, and the figure slunk away into the night.

Rose awoke with a gasp - she whirled around, her tangled curls about her face as she viewed the horrifying scene in the room through incredibly wide, terrified eyes. Purple fire, a girl who had wings and made the most awful sound, and a figure dressed all in black that made Rose go cold with fear.
When the winged girl made the hooded thing go away, Rose let out a whimper, and clutched the soft blankets to her for comfort. What had just happened? What were those things? What was happening to her?
Glancing to her right, she suddenly realised that there was another person in the bed with her - another girl, who was staring at her with a great deal of concern and worry on her face. The strange... creature... was also looking at her with a look that resembled pity, but not quite.
"Why is everyone looking at me... oh, someone save me..." Rose whispered into the room, and tears fell silently from her eyes - eyes robbed of their rainbow colour, now only soft hazel in hue. "Please... oh please..." She rocked back and forth slowly, tears streaming like gentle rivers.
"Tell me where I am, who I am... oh please...."

Amelia hovered at the open door; she peered in. She knew that she was not meant to be in the head's quarters and especially not looking into their private bedroom's but Amelia had been out wandering and she had felt an urge to be here; like she was missing out on something huge.
Her eyes widened and her mouth dropped in horror as she realised that the headmistress had been attacked and that she had no memory of who she was. Now would have been the time to run; but she couldn't she was frozen to the spot at the doorway.
What did this mean? what happened to her? Why? What was going to happen now? Amelia's mind raced with unanswered questions as she gawped at the scene before her.
"M...M...Miss?" she finally spoke up; her voice filled with fear. "Are you alright miss?"

Claire looked at Rose, her mouth open, her hand clasped over it. No, No, No, No.... A deep breath tried to calm her and make sure what was happening.
"Rose," Claire said cautiously, reaching out her hand for Rose's, "Calm down, you are safe here. No one will harm you, you are safe, OK?"
She can't have forgotten, she can't, she can't, she can't....
Moving ever so slightly closer and resisting the powerful urge of wanting to hold Rose in her arms, she spoke again. "OK, your name is Rose. I am Claire, do you remember me? Or this room? Have a look around, there is nothing here that will hurt you, OK?"
A movement at the door caused Claire to turn. She saw Amelia Halliwell standing there looking shocked and worried. "Amelia, everything is OK here, OK?" Claire said; a little more forcefully than she meant to.
Composing herself, well trying to, she remembered herself and her position. "Amelia, come in and close the door, we don't need anymore people involved in this."

Amelia nodded; her mouth still open as she followed the headmistress's request and walked into the private room closing the door behind her.
She leant against it, her legs trembling, as she watched Claire talk soothingly to Rose.
She had so many questions that needed answering, but now did not seem the time.
"What should I do?" she whispered now wishing that she hadn't been so curious and wandered into this 'mess'

Kiki couldn't sleep. She tossed and turned until she forced herself to stop trying to sleep and get up. Her feet connected with the cold floor and she threw on a pair of robes, the feeling of unease growing. She suddenly realised that it had something to do with Rose. After all, besides Ace, Rose was the only person Kiki had the closest bond to. Who else could it be? Kiki threw on a cloak and Apparated to the Ministry.
As soon as she arrived, she strode over to the Floo fireplaces, as though she had never Apparated there, but had merely been walking across the Atrium foyer. She took a handful of powder, tossed it carelessly into the grate and the emerald flames exploded to life. She didn't hesitate. She stepped into the fire and instructed -
"Head's Tower, Magic Horizons Castle!"
The moment that Claire told Amelia they needed no more people involved, Kiki stepped out of the fireplace, which Rose and Claire had thier backs to (?) and tapped her soot covered cloak with her wand, cleaning her instantly. She walked over to the bed, giving Amelia a slight nod as she walked over, something inside her was glad Rose hadn't seen her arrival. Claire, predictably, turned around and saw her, and as she was acknowledged by Claire, Kiki decided to stay around her side of the bed.
"What's going on?" Kiki muttered. "I couldn't sleep, it felt like something was wrong, so I came over," Kiki glanced at Rose and with a jolt realised that her eyes were not the usual sparkling rainbow colours, but just a soft hazel. It wasn't terribly out of the ordinary for Rose's eyes to stay one colour, but this was somehow, different. Rose looked uncomfortable, almost as though she didn't know where she was.

Rose sobbed softly as a soothing voice spoke to her - the voice of the girl next to her on the bed. The girl seemed to be calling her... Rose? Was that her name?
"My name is... Rose," breathed Rose, lifting up her tear-stained face and cautiously looking about the room, feeling slightly comforted by the fact that other people seemed to know her somehow. She was still terrified of the winged girl, but she had a soft, beautiful face that didn't seem to intend any harm. Relaxing minutely, she shook her head slowly. "No, I don't know any of this. Claire."
She smiled hesitantly at the girl, speaking her name to try and make it stay inside her head. She looked at the girl who had come in, and heard what Claire said to her. "And Amelia."
Wiping her face with one hand, Rose sighed and leaned back against the soft satin pillows. "So... would someone like to help me, please?"
