Jenna's conversation with Haycee immeditatly stopped when the hollow voice of Professor Azrael filled the light room. She had, of course, not been listening so intentively and only awoke from her daydream when the professor slammed shut all the shutters giving the room a very dim look to it. Jenna kind of like the dark look.
"Phew," Jenna told herself. "If I didn't already know that I would do good in this class, I would be pretty worried." Jenna smiled to herself knowing the luck she had. "I wonder what our first assignment will be..."
Suddenly, Jenna's face became very straight and her eyes became very cat-like, green and all. Fireworks? she said to herself, questioning her vision. Who would possibly set off fireworks now? She laughed at the thought, acting as though her vision was definatly wrong.

Summer was sitting very quietly at her desk as the other students were speaking with others. But she didnt mind very much, until finally the professor had spoken. She heard the class go quiet as he did, and kept her eyes on him not wanting to miss a single word. Soon she saw all the windows shut leaving the room nice and dark, but still could see eveyone around her perfectly. She didnt say a single word and just sat silently as she heard some whispers kind of getting annoyed by them.

Xarian steeped into the classroom slowly. She was aways interested in divination, and figured the class would be right up her ally. She sat down silently, excited about the new class. She sat down quietly, knowing when it was time to learn and when it was time to play.

What was the point in Divination? Charms, she could understand, Transfiguration she could understand, Potions she could understand the point of, but why Divination? In earlier years, maybe she would have taken at least a slight interest, but now she had learnt that the future was fickle, no matter what the Centuar in the forest had told her.
Wheeling herself reluctantly to the Divination classroom, Hayzie raised a curious brow. Why was it all so... so.... dark? Surely the point of Divination to those who enjoyed it was to see into the future, and yet there wasn't much to be seen of the present with all the windows closed, and the view obscured. Maybe the Professor was trying to distract the daydreamers into listening. Not something Hayzie was planning on doing a whole lot of. Pointing her wand at the windows from the side of her wheelchair, the blonde girl simply whispered: Alohomora, to make the windows open again, whilst sticking the everlasting charm on them to ensure the professor couldn't shut them again.
"Much better," she smiled to herself, the smile darkening a little at the sight of the Quidditch pitch, but brightened as she saw the Professor. "Sorry I'm late. Unavoidable circumstances," she nodded, wheeling herself to a desk at the back of the room and putting on the breaks before taking out a roll of parchment, a normal quill, a sugar quill and some ink, at least looking as though she was ready to start the lesson, when in fact she was ready to start some prank plotting instead.

Forgoil had been engrossed with reading his book that he didn't hear the Professor speaking. Hurriedly closing it and but it in his briefcase; Forgoil's eyes snapped up to look at the teacher. Despite his appearance, the professor did make several good points. Divinations was a subject where one would either fail or excel; there was no middle ground. And the fact that the Professor seemed to hate all of them before they even turned in a single assignment or anything showed that he wasn't one to be trifled with.

Forgoil may have thought that Professor Azrael wasn’t one to be trifled with, but Hayzie Roberts knew that there was only one way to tell the limits of a new Professor, and that was to push their buttons until the right combination was made to set them off. That was their limit, and in the future, the blonde would know not to exceed that boundary. It had got her into trouble in the past, but she had never meant for it to turn out that way. It just, happened.
Earlier that morning, Hayzie had snuck into the unlocked classroom and placed some indoor wet start fireworks at the back, innocently lighting them with the tip of her wand on the way in. Glancing over at them with green eyes that seemed to sparkle with mischief, the blonde simply waited.
It was a shame, really, that her reputation hadn’t exceeded her as it had done with the Astronomy Professor. At least that way Professor Azrael would know what to expect. Either way, it was a shame, but it meant she could have a little fun. Sucking on the end of her sugar quill, she almost choked as the fireworks set off a little earlier than she had thought, and seconds later, the room was filled with many colourful sparks and loud bangs.
The mischievous glint was still in her eyes, and lasted until the fireworks spelt out: “Bet you didn’t See that coming!”

Rezna's head snapped toward the front of the room as colorful fireworks erupted from behind the professor's desk.
Before she could stop herself, a fit of laughter overtook her. Wow, that was unexpected, but not unwanted. She knew that the Professor would be pissed, but at least the closed windows had given the room the right mood. The different colored flames definitely looked beautiful in the dark.
As she read the message at the end, she smiled even more."So anyone think he did See that coming? I definitelly take him as a Seer, after his speech!" she asked quietly to anyone who heard her. Whoever had set those off was definitely on Rezna's 'Most respected' list. She never thought that she'd laugh in Divination again, but she found that she was second guessing herself. Her eyes found their Professor, and scanned his face for another source of amusement.

The sound of large numbers of no-heat wet start fireworks did what even the voice of Professor Azrael could and had not. With a jerk a head of violently purple hair shot up from its place on the desk revealing the face of a fairly bleary eyed Sylph. It had not been the best of days, but loud noises and pretty colours would no doubt help to cheer the strangely sullen witch up somewhat, if not completely. Still, for the moment, Sylph was a little disorientated from her impromptu nap.
"I was trying to pick up my contact lense without using my hands!" she managed to get out before she realised that it had not been an irate teacher that had awoken her, but a rather timely prank. Blinking a few times to clear the sleep from her eyes, Sylph looked around the room looking for the culprit - meanwhile wondering why it had suddenly become so dark in here. Then she spied the face she was looking for.
Ah yes, Hayzie. Sylph nodded in approval at her friend as the sparks formed the words Bet you didn't see that coming! It was a good final flourish for a divination teacher, but would he now get round to the actual divination? Sylph, like her grandmother before her, had a flair for telling the future, and Sylph herself sometimes even had visions, but she wasn't sure if the man stood before them was in fact a Seer. It would have been useful for him to be; for one thing, she was supposed to be following him into battle before long; it'd be nice to know how that was going to pan out.

She sat up straight, and looked around the room in amazment. She never knew anyone to missbehave in class that badly. Please don't get me in trouble....

Jenna jumped at the luod sounds even though she had seen it coming. I should know by now... My visions are always right when I don't think they will be. She read the message and muttered under her breath, "Yeah, I did see that coming."
She looked around the class, trying to read each students mind, trying to find out who did it. Unfortunately, there were to many thoughts buzzing around the room so Jenna abandoned her efforts.
Out of the corner of her eye though, she saw someone nod at someone else. She focused all her attention on to the girl who had nodded. Hayzie? That was the last person Jenna would've expected. She was that prefect that had tried to keep Jenna out of the forest a few nights ago. I definately didn't see that one coming!

Anna was very startled when she heard the fireworks going off behind the Professor's chair. She smiled, they were pretty... but wondered who could have set them off. Anna glanced around the room to see if anyone looked suspicious. Anna looked over at Rezna, "Wonder who it was..." she whispered to her. She looked towards the Professor for any sign of amusement, or worse, anger.

Post by Marina Roeswood on Jul 28, 2005 21:26:03 GMT
It was only a few moments before a technical late arrival when Marina Roeswood rushed into the class, carrying a bag stuffed full with papers and books from previous classes. Immediately she found a seat toward the front and left of the class, that was conveniently available. While the rest of the class chattered, the Prefect sat silently, slightly out of breath from jogging most of the way to class in order to arrive on time. Instead of being flustered, however, Nina's face was cool and indifferent, only slightly flushed from exertion.
She regarded Professor Azrael curiously, noting how vastly different in demeanor he seemed from when she'd met him at the lake. Instead of kind and charismatic, this man seemed as apparently cold in personality as she was. Instead of taking out her things as she usually would, she thought slightly on it, furrowing her brow and deciding that this man was apparently more complicated than she might have initially thought.
When he finally stood to speak, Nina regarded him carefully, one eyebrow raising slightly above the other. She wasn't sure that this personality change was a good one. In fact, he seemed somewhat like the type of Professor that might make a student cry. Not to say that wouldn't be amusing, but it certainly wasn't a very nice thing to do.
Marina repressed a smile deftly at the Professor's stern attitude, finding his speech far more amusing than intimidating. He was right about a few things, certainly. She'd definitely much rather be elsewhere than here, not to say that she had better things to do than be bullied by a Professor with a poor attitude. A nice rest by the lake would probably be entertaining enough, probably more than this class. As the shutters closed, the Prefect smirked, glancing about to gauge the reactions of the rest of her classmates. As Hayzie arrived, though, she couldn't help but smile, knowing that when she was about, things always got... interesting.
The Prefect was very clearly amused when the fireworks were set off, though not so much by the action itself but by the possible punishments for it. Professor Azrael certainly didn't seem like the kind who would react amiably to one of Hayzie's pranks. Her green eyes betrayed her interest as she shifted her gaze to the man, waiting to see his reaction.

Post by Teagan on Jul 28, 2005 21:41:34 GMT
A few more students filed in, and Haycee appreciatively started a long, drawing conversation with one of them. They chattered on and on about things they liked, and other boring uneventful subjects. Meanwhile, Teagan quietly re-adjusted herself at her desk, and now faced the front of the classroom in proper fashion.
A few seconds later, the divination teacher, Professor Azrael, looked over them and began a speech. He said that he didn't want to know their names unless or until it was necessary. Instead of trying to memorize all their student's names, he simply found no need for the tiresome job of doing so. Apparently, he was stressed out. Without pausing, he continued, "Now, I have learned from my experience that people either completely despise divinations or absolutely adore it, with little middle ground between the two. Although I realize that some of you might prefer to be out right now doing......other things... Right now, we are here for one purpose, me trying to teach the lot of you some skills you might find useful later on in life."
The professor closed all of the blinds with magic, and the room suddenly became dark and almost mystical; almost, they had yet to do anything of importance. Teagan found the added shadows as a more comfortable place of relaxation. It seemed the teacher was intending to be very serious about his duty.
Soon, Hazyie opened one of the windows, and apologized for her lateness. Teagan had an itchy, irreversible feeling that she was up to something. Hazyie nibbled on her quill, Teagan guessed it was one of the sugar ones, and nearly choked on it as a loud bang erupted at the back of the room, and the shadows became filled with light. Ah. Is this why he made it darker? So we could see the fireworks better? Teagan joked idly. She didn't flinch as the chaos was caused, but calmly watched the sparks of color completed their assignment with grace. They eloquently wrote, "Bet you didn’t See that coming!"
It seemed the teacher was being tested quite interestingly. Would the stress be too much and freak him out? Or will he laugh, ignore it, or continue with class as if nothing had happened? Teagan rosette eyes calmly observed the class as some became overcome with laughter, others woke up from fitful sleep, and a few came out of their daydreams in a ripe mood.
Teagan remained sitting properly with her hands delicately folded on her lap, shoes flat on the floor, and her back straight, but almost curved into a backward arch. In no way was she slouching, which had turned out to be a wise idea. If she had been one of the many who were surprised, her attention span would be among them, and shock and confusion weren't joyful playthings in her mind, unless used on others, she patiently corrected her tender thoughts.
A section of Teagan's silky red hair gently flowed over her slender shoulders, and continued farther on with the strands iridescent path. Her fingers silently entangled themselves with each other, the soft, luminous flesh quietly moved around its companions, and the appendages elegantly returned to their original positions as she featherly queried if the room's flammables had been fireproofed. If they hadn't, the day's excitement had only begun.

As the last of the fireworks eventually died down, Professor Azrael began to slowly clap his hands, his lone applause echoing ominously in the classroom. He took a step foreword, looking over the class. One of them was responsible, yet he didn't know which one. There were some he suspected more than others, especially the three that had already made somewhat of a scene.
As his clapping subsided, he began to speak, his voice cold, showing how very much unamused by this prank he was, "That was absolutely brilliant, I never thought this class capable." he nodded his head, a hint of sarcasm edged into his next words, "I have to admit, you had me absolutely caught off guard, I never saw that coming. I did, however, have a vision of the future which must have overshadowed this small event. What I did see coming in the near future was an entire divinations class held for detention," he said, an almost cruel smile playing across his face, "It was........most unfortunate that the class happened to be..." he hesitated for a moment, as if in deep thought, although soon after gave way to a look of feigned shock, "Why, it happens to be this very class! Now, I am not one to try and tamper with the future as it is, yet I do believe this situation could be easily remedied should the culprit, or culprits, responsible be revealed."
