Claire strode onto the pitch, looking around at the players waiting expectantly in the air. The weather was dry at the moment, though rain and melting snow earlier had left the ground wet. Lucky this game isn’t played on the ground!
Crouching down, she lifted the lid of the box that was placed in the centre of the ground. Releasing the Bludgers into the air, followed by the Golden Snitch.
Lifting up the Quaffle, Claire, her whistle in her mouth, blew a short, sharp burst, before throwing it straight up into the air, where it was caught by…
Lottie stepped onto the pitch in her yellow and black quidditch robes, donning them for the first time. Butterflies danced around her stomach as the wind swept through her hair. Tying it back quickly into a ponytail, she walked with determination onto the pitch.
A few strands came loose, but the brunette girl ignored them. Stage fright was not something she got easily, and it wouldn’t be the case today, either. Mounting her broom, Lottie soared up into the air with the rest of the Hufflepuff team, and did a lap of the pitch to warm up, before meeting the rest of them in the centre.
It was then Claire threw the quaffle into the air.
Catching the quaffle quickly in both hands, Lottie began flying over to the other end of the pitch, tucking the red ball under her arm as she did so. Dodging bludgers that were flitting around the pitch, the small girl continued, her eyes darting either side of her, before settling on the sky high hoops in front of her, before starting the round again. However she realised out of the corner of her eye that both bludgers were heading in her direction. Knowing it would be easier to dodge if she didn’t have the ball, the Hufflepuff looked for Silver, and threw the ball in her direction.

Silver strode out confidently onto the Pitch, clutching her trusty Wildwind 600. Her pale violet eyes scanned the roaring crowd, their excited cheers feeding her anticipation of the match ahead. The voice of the Headmistress Claire brought her quickly back down to earth, and she nodded to the opposing team as she swung herself effortlessly onto her broom, a brief act of civility before the game began.
As the whistle blew, Silver ripped into the sky, her body becoming no more than a yellow and silver blur as she shot to grab the Quaffle.

Wyl pushed off the hard ground, the cool air across his face a nice wake-up to the fact that he was playing Quidditch. He pushed his SpelloTaped glasses up his nose a little higher and started searching for the Snitch, eyes darting around like mad and hands gripping the broom tightly.
Lottie was playing. He’d actually convinced her so he could make up the team. He grinned to himself, enjoying that thought. Silver was here too, he’d played with her first match of the season and she’d played in the Cup match. He was pleased with the two Chasers, he knew that they’d play well today. Wyl was just wondering how he was going to find the Snitch through all the players when he let his mind wander.
Shaking his head, he bent down low over his broom and shot forward, looking for the promising flicker of gold.

“Go on, Silver!” Lottie shouted as her team-mate caught the quaffle expertly and began heading back towards the hoops. Realising floating there and watching wouldn’t do any good if she came under an attack from Ravenclaw, Lottie began flying as fast as she could towards Silver, praying there would be no need for her to be there. They needed to score, and quick if they were going to have a headstart on the scoreboard.

Silver received the pass from Lottie and ducked underneath an incoming Bludger, swearing under her breath. They hadn’t been playing for that long and already she was out of breath! She knew she should have practised more before the big match, but she had been swamped with homework and revising for her OWLs…
Wham!
A Bludger hit the tail-end of her broomstick, causing her to spin wildly. She grabbed the spinning broom with both hands, letting go of the Quaffle and watching dismally as it fell right into the open arms of a grinning Ravenclaw Chaser.
Knowing there was little else she could have done, she gritted her teeth and followed the Chaser, hoping to get a second chance.

As the ball was intercepted by the Ravenclaw Chaser, Lottie scowled slightly, swooping down to be prepared just in case they dropped it, or a bludger helped her in regaining the quaffle. She would get it back, if it was the last thing she did.
It seemed one of the beaters on the team had also noticed this and was racing after a bludget to aim in the Ravenclaw's broomstick. Lottie dodged this quickly, and raced after it, hoping it would hit the 'Claw's broom. She was ready to catch that red ball again.

Intercepting the Quaffle roughly, Silver smirked at the Ravenclaw she had just stolen it from before soaring towards the goal. She saw the Keeper’s determined, yet nervous look, and smiled to herself – she knew, she just knew, this was going to be all too easy.
She veered slightly towards the left, and the Keeper dived that way immediately as Silver whipped her broom around and shot it straight through the right goal hoop!
“WOO YEAH!” said Silver, punching her fist in the air in triumph. “GO HUFFLEPUFF!”

The Quaffle sailed through a hoop, giving HufflepuFF the first lead. ”HUFFLEPUFF SCORE! 10 – NIL TO HUFFLEPUFF”

"YAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!" Lottie cheered as the ball went through the hoop. They'd got a goal!! Already, only a few minutes into the game, they were 10 points ahead. If it kept up like this, they would win without a doubt. Giving a thumbs up to Silver, Lottie began circling a little, waiting for the quaffle to come back into play.

It was honestly a once in a lifetime opportunity. Never had Dylan Eden thought himself a Seeker, let alone the Quidditch type, but the excitement that radiated from the crowd seemed to jump-start his adventurous side. Peeking out at the pitch, he watched as a Hufflepuff Chaser proudly and confidently strolled out and readied her broomstick. Hesitating silently, Dylan ran a sweaty hand through his sandy colored hair and took a minute to recollect himself. Drawing a deep breath and removing his hand from his thick locks, he firmly gasped his broom, straighten his form and took his first step out onto the green pitch.
A cool breeze kissed his skin and immediately relieved him of the heat his body generated at an alarming rate. Dylan continued onward, but stopped suddenly as he watched the Quaffle being released. The whistle blared like a siren, alerting all players that the game was now in session. Shakily at first, Dylan mounted his Nimbus 2000, which was borrowed last minute, and shot up to survey the happening of his fellow team mates before scanning around for the snitch.

Wyl’s face broke into a broad grin as the Hufflepuffs scored the first goal. He applauded, taking a few seconds out from the game to congratulate his teammates with a roaring –
“GOOD WORK HUFFLEPUFFS!”
Then turned his eyes back to the game, diving low along the bottom of the pitch to see if he could spot the Snitch.

The keeper quickly threw the ball back out into play, and Lottie ended up with it again.
The bright red ball only registered in Lottie’s mind after a few seconds of it being in her hand. Blinking, she nodded to herself and began racing towards the opposite end of the pitch again. This time she had to score, she just had to. Disappointment wasn’t something the brunette liked other people to have in her.
The hoops were now in sight. Her hair was once again dangling teasingly in front of her eyes, not helping her vision in the slightest. Not realising as she was distracted by her hair, the ball slipped from under her arm, and ended up falling towards the ground.
“Great!” she muttered to herself, turning her straight flight into a quick nosedive and aiming towards the ground.

All of a sudden, the Snitch flashed before Silver’s eyes! It was barely more than a metre in front of the stationary Chaser.
She blinked a moment, hardly believing what she was seeing, and put out a hand to touch it when she hesitated – what happened if another member of the team caught the Snitch? Could it get them disqualified?
Luckily the elusive Snitch made the decision for her; in a moment, it was gone again, and Silver once again turned her attentions to the movements of the Quaffle.

And she'd got it back! Once more, the quaffle was in Lottie’s possession and before anyone could have said: Cake and balloons, she was haring off back into the air and towards the three hoops once more, playing eenie meenie miney mo in her mind to pick which one to aim for. Confusing the goal-keeper would be the best thing to do. Smiling innocently towards the Ravenclaw goalie, Lottie began heading towards the right hand hoop, intending to shoot for the centre. Oh how she hoped the ‘Claw goalkeeper would be confused.
But before she reached the hoops, another midnight black bludger was hurtling in her direction. Panicking, the brunette threw the ball to Silver, hoping she may be able to make more use out of it while she played dodge the bludger.
