Claire strode confidantly out on the Pitch. Her blue wintery robes were warm against the cold sun of the December afternoon, and her hair was tied back tightly so the wind wouldn't whip it loose from her head.
Taking her wand out from the inside of her robes, she pointed out her throat to magnify her voice.
"Greetings everyone! I'm glad to see so many of you turned out to watch the first match of the new Quidditch season, Gryffindor versus Ravenclaw! I hope you wrapped up warm! Are we all ready?"
She smiled at the nervous looking team members.
"Ok then, let's go!"
She threw the Quaffle into the air and it was immediately caught by...

Laura, who caught the quaffle for the first time since their first game last year. It was a tough one, and against Ravenclaw as well. Talon was there, and seeker the first time, as well as many other people who had long since left Magic Horizons.
She looked around at the people she knew, and the people she hadn't taken the time to meet, and smiled. "Come on team, let's do this!" She flew around, avoiding many people, trying to make it towards the hoop....

Hayzie quickly kicked off onto the pitch, her green eyes already searching around for any sign of the golden snitch.
"come on, you can do this."

Suzy had been a great Quidditch player when she played with her family and friends back home, but today was the first chance to play for a real team and for her house.
She breathed in the cool air and closed her eyes. She knew she could find the Snitch, she knew she was fast enough to grab it, but would the weather and competition be too hard against her?
She watched as the snitch was released and zoomed off in the direction it flew in.

Checking for bludgers, Laura couldn't see anyone else trying to take her quaffle. The seekers had taken off, and Laura looked over at Hayzie. "Come on Hayz, remember how we barely lost to Slytherin last year! You have to redeem our team!" A random bludger soared over her head, and she steered her broom towards the Ravenclaw hoop, aiming the quaffle.
"Whoosh!" There went another one, which knocked at the hilt of her broom, and she had to pull back. "Geez! There aren't even beaters aiming these things and they know they're after me!" She pulled back the hair in front of her face and pulled away from the bludgers that were going after her. She dived back towards the hoop, hoping for a shot....

Skarlet walked onto the field in her gold and red uniform. She hopped onto her broom and zoomed intot he air when claire announced the game had begun. She was thrilled to see Hazey and Laura get the quaffle. She watched as Laura hit the quaffle she crossed her fingers for a shot.

Kelly mentally chided herself for letting Laura get the quaffle before her. Without missing a beat, she soared up, following the Gryffindor Captain. Trying to ignore the wind whistling in her ears, and the flapping of her robes, she streaked after Laura, trying to catch up. They were getting closer - too close for comfort - to the Ravenclaw hoops, and Kelly felt it was too early to already be behind.
Finally pulling up so that she was neck-and-neck with Laura, she was dismayed to see that the Gryffindor had already fired. Barely noting that Laura had stopped to throw, Kelly streaked past her, in hopes of deflecting the scarlet ball.

And the offense failed! Laura's second hand shot went straight through the hoop with a great cry from the Gryffindor stands! She let out a sigh of relief and then went straight back in the game, waiting to see who would get it next, hoping it would be a Gryffindor.

"Ten points to the Gryffindors! The Gryffindors are in the lead!"
A big red ten flashed high in the air above the crowd.

Skarlet noticed Kelly, she flew at her dodging the other characters formed dipping high and low she spun with great speed toward the goals. Catching up with Kelly she stopped dead right infront of her so the intercept had become more difficult.

(ooc: actually i'd rather that you didn't as it makes it seem as though there are much more Gryffindor posts than there are. There will be plenty of room to post once the match is over.)

“Damn!” Suzy shouted to herself as the Snitch flew off into the distance. You should’ve had it then. It was so close and yet so far – her hand was a few inches off of it, but she just couldn’t get the extra speed out of her broomstick that she needed.
Looking around at the crowd she saw all the Ravenclaws shouting and cheering at the team members. They were doing OK, but Suzy wasn’t sure – her mind was on the Snitch. I AM going to get you…

Jesse shook his head after the Gryffindor goal was announced, and zipped down and foward, the wind throwing back the hair that usually fell around his face. It was the most unusual thing for him, to be participating in a school sport....and on a broomstick borrowed from the school! Oh, wouldn't his parents be proud. Focus, Jess. He blinked hard. After all, the House needed him, right? An interesting feeling.
"Let's get it back, Ravenclaw!" He yelled above the cheers from the stands, sitting back on his broom for a moment to rub his hands together.
