Claire's whistle could barely be heard over the screaming and cheering and hissing and booing of the crowd all around her. As Suzy flew triumphantly to the ground Claire managed to get her magically magnified voice heard.
"And it's all over! Ravenclaw get the Snitch, leaving the final scores at 150 to the Eagles and 10 to the Lions!"
Smiling at the hysteria, Claire hummed happily to herself as she walked off the Pitch. Ravenclaw deserved to win, she thought, after all they didn't win a single game last year. She went back up to the Head's Tower where Rose was patiently waiting for her to return.

Jesse nearly toppled over the back of his broom. Catching himself as he swayed, he let out a loud victory cry. "Yeah, Ravenclaw!" He shouted, swivelling back toward the girl who had caught the snitch.
Slowing down he lifted his hand for a victory 'high five'.

Hayzie had chased Suzy as she saw the snitch, but her Nimbus 2000 wasn't fast enough. The blonde girl saw the Ravenclaw hold the snitch triumphantly up into the air, grinning as she did so.
And that was that. They had lost.
All colour seemed to drain from the lycan girl's face as she made her way back towards the ground, waiting for the rest of her team mates to make the descend. Maybe she would head for a shower quickly.
Either way, as soon as both hands were free, she allowed herself a few claps for the opposing team. It was what they deserved.

It was all slow motion, her face went from distraught to sad within seconds, they'd lost....again. She floated down gracefully next to Hayzie. She clapped along with her, even though deep inside she was angry, but she couldn't do anything about it. "Good job Hayz."

Post by Laura (away) on Dec 4, 2004 23:52:08 GMT
Laura felt icy cold as she slowly circled back to Earth, the icy realisation of what had just happened filling her every cell. On landing, she slumped to the ground, her frame racked with sobs, as she shook uncontrollably, inconsolably.
Once again, like so many times before, they had lost. She couldn’t believe it...she, who had introduced the game to Magic Horizons, her only life after all the tragedy she had lived through in the past year. She’d blown it again. How could her teammates, or any of the Gryffindor students respect her if she felt nothing but contempt for herself?
She must truly have been a pathetic site; the defeated Gryffindor captain, crossed-legged in the mud, with her hands over her eyes in a vain effort to conceal the tears that were flowing down her face. Nothing on the outside could express the defeat she felt within. Should she resign on the spot, she wondered. How could she possibly live down such a great humiliation of such a short game?
Laura couldn’t speak for crying.

Kyoske landed a moment later his hand in a fist it slowly growing paler as the blood was not getting to it. He slowly breathed for a moment looking at the Ravenclaws. He sighed and clapped a few times to show that he was not a sore loser. even if he did have the urdge to turn the girls hair to green permently and give her a case of zits that would world would not soon forget. He grinned at these thoughts and it lightened his moon.
He slowly walked over to hayzie and placed his hand on her shoulder "It is ok Hayzie you did great, she was faster and got lucky thats all it came down to." he knew she would be depressed after all this. "Don't worry so much about it, it is a game." he said the last part calmly but his tone slipped a little and reveield his own anger at losing the game.

The lycan girl gave a faint smile to Skarlet as she landed next to her, though all she wanted to do was let her held back tears of disappointment fall.
Hayzie's green eyes drifted over to the side of her vision and the sight she saw was one that was expected, but not welcomed. Laura was in tears.
Hesitantly, the blonde girl headed over to her friend, and simply put an arm around her. She knew her fellow prefect hated losing a game. And this time, it had been down to her.
"Sorry," she whispered, stoking some of Laura's hair down, unsure of what to do and feeling disappointed in herself.

Before Kelly could even feel the disappointment of letting Laura's shot go through he hoops, she heard the dim cry of "I've got it!"
Turning, she saw Suzy clutching the glittering snitch. Elated, she flew over to the newest teammate, and without a thought, hugged her like there was no tomorrow.
"Great job, Suzy!" she said, beaming from ear to ear.
But at the same time, though, she could practically feel the disappointment emanating from the Gryffindor team.
"It was a valiant try, you guys," she said, trying to say anything to make them feel better. She was close with many of the Lions, and their grief hurt her, as well.

Suzy reached the ground and stepped off of her broom. Holding it to her side, she walked over to the exit and opened the Quiddicth ball box.
Securing the Snitch back in its rightful place, she looked around her and saw all the Ravenclaw students jumping up and down and cheering.
She hadn't been at Magic Horizons long, but she was proud to have won a game for her new house. The blue and gold banners were flapping high in the wind, making her feel a warm glow inside.
Taking a sip of water from a bottle, she sat on a bench and watched the other players touch down onto the ground. Tiredness set in to her body, but she knew what awaited her tonight - a night of celebration and non-sleep!
Emptying the bottle of its contents, she threw it in a bin and started to walk back towards the castle.

He saw Laura and almost jinxed the Ravenclaw girl on the spot. she had made her so upset, laura was in tears and it made him feel so bad. He walked over and kneeled next to her in the mud "Hey Look i know we lost but comeon she got lucky it was a one time deal, you diod great i mean you were very good you have nothing to be ashamed of none of us do, the game came donw to a simple draw of luck on whos side the snitch went on and the ravenclaw girl got lucky nothing more." he did not know what else to say on the matter
He looked at the ravenclaw and nodded to her "You to, congrats on winning." he did not know what to say he hated to feel so bad, but worse was that the others felt so bad he hated people being upset or crying. He had his hand buryed in the mud his fist full of it as he looked at the girl who was the reason for it. he knew it was stupid to be mad at her seeing as Hayzie was out to do the same thing. "Tell her congrats to." he said to the Ravenclaw girl near by but not stop looking at the seeker. his eyes percing and unhappy he felt angry then he focused and breathed a little and closed his eyes then looked at Laura.

Kelly followed Suzy and the rest of her team to the ground, dismounting at nearly the same time as the seeker. She followed the seeker to the bench, too elated to even get a drink. When the other girl tried to escape to the castle, she put a hand on Suzy's shoulder.
"Hey, where are you going, champ? Stay for a minute!" she said, grinning.

Hayzie sighed and stood up. She knew full well that she was being babyish and unsportsmanlike. Wiping some mud off her red and gold robes, she let her blonde hair fall over her shoulders, and tried t put some friendliness behind disappointed green eyes as she walked over to the Ravenclaw team.
"Hey," she smiled as she reached them, stopping a little away. "You guys were great. Congratulations," she said, her voice straining a little as she held her hand out.

Laura kneeded her eyes with balled fists, making a valiant effort to drag a smile onto her downturned lips. Unfortunately, the resulting grimace, which would have been comical at any other time, was even more ugly than the tears that she tried and failed to dispell.
'She doesn't need to apologise for winning,' she choked, shaking her head. 'You can't get mad at her for doing something that, in her position you would have done too...and I'm sure, the best team won.'
With the final sentence, Laura half dissolved once more, the loss eating at her heart. She knew full well that she was making a melodramatic idiot of herself, but at that moment, she couldn't have cared less. She just wanted to hide in her dorm, never to face a fellow Gryffindor.

Suzy stopped as Kelly put her hand on her shoulder.
Turning, she smiled. "Well done for tonight - I thought you were playing really well. Sorry I stopped the game too quickly for you lot to score!" she said.

Skarlet walked over to Laura. "Kyoske is right, come on i'll walk you up to the dorm, ok?" she offered as she kneeled and put her hands around Laura's shoulders, to help her up.
