Ok, this may not be my place to say this but WHY, do people keep going into the Vampires den, expecting to waltz around like they own the place then whine about it when they get their character killed???
Am I missing something, does it not state that you are giving permission to the vampires to kill your character if you enter there? I am sorry, could someone please explain to me why people keep doing this.
I like to go in and read some of the threads in the vampire’s lair and as I am sure Mich is getting tired of having to repeat herself, over and over, I too tire of hearing over and over… ”I’m dead?” Hum, ya, duh…<br> Don’t get me wrong here, I like to read HOW the vampires kill those who enter, but come on people, really, if you go in there and your character dies, be a good little dummy and don’t complain about it.
Thanks
Kalista Karador

Some people just don't like their charaters. That and they allow themselves to be killed. So people do us a favor no more going into the vampire caves unless you don't like your charater. If you don't like your charater just walk right into the vampire caves.

i do because its the STUPIDEST rule ever at this site...it really is frustrating...at least have a duel...in reality students would be able to defend themselves...not just be dead like that...leave it up to whos the best at RPGing to see who wins...*sigh*...such a pain in the ass rule so that vampires can feel superior...same thing goes for the lycan tunnel thing

There is one way to survive in the lycan tunnels, and that's to be a friend to the elder. I went in the lycan tunnles when I was still using asterics in my posts. So I was wtill new.

You're quite right, Chris. I mean, in D&D (Or any other RPG for that matter) if you go into a certain area, you don't just die because someone sees you. You have to defend yourself, even if you know your not strong enough. Maybe I'm used to EQ, but it's not RPing when you just kill someone without them really doing anything back.

Doesn't matter what the rules are anywhere else. That is the rule here at Magical Horizons - come into one of those three places and you forfeit your life. Not all that difficult to understand.
Now, if you want to have an actual PLOT, why not IM a vampire and ASK? 'Hey, would you be interested in maybe not killing me and getting a good thread going?' I'm sure we'd be delighted to help you.
As for vampires who think they're superior? Well, when I came to MH, it was my understanding that one of the requirements of holding vampire status was that the holder must be a superb writer. It was a privelege to be a vampire, not a right. Also, it seems to me that there's more of a problem with newbies and various other RPers who think they're superior to vampires, when all they're doing is BREAKING RULES. Breaking rules does not make you superior.
So, yeah. Keep coming in the Lair without a legitimate reason (kill me so I can come back with super-jumped-up-god powers and kill the entire population of the lair is NOT a legitimate reason), we kill you, and once we kill you, you STAY DEAD.
Easy.

Ok. *writes that rule stuff down again* Cole awnser me this...Why is it i can walk into the lycan tunnles and not get hurt? Other than on the old MH I joined them in the war but as Zeion (or Xeion as many can recall).

Ask a Lycan. I'm not a Lycan.
Edit: Actually... now that I think about it - you can get hurt, you can die. The very same exact rule holds for the Lycan Tunnels, but if they don't want to kill you, it's THEIR prerogative. Just as it's ours if you come in the Lair.

Your right, too, Cole. But I did some research before I joined this site. I viewed some threads and one of them I happened to view was the one containing the character named Bal, and yourself. Now I complete understand that she was not to be in the Vampire Caves. Being so new and entering a places as such, was, indeed not a bright idea. But if someone comes into the Vampire Lair and posts once, then a Vampire kills them in the second post. Thats not RPING, thats G-RPING (For those of you who don't know, it's God-RolePaying.) In 99.9% of RP forums/chats/games/etc. thats against the rules. *Flips through MH's rules.*
I'm not trying to tell the Vampires how they should kill imbecile characters that walk into the Lair to quote- 'kill the vampires off'- but perhaps the Vampires could do it in a more...classy fashion. Toy with the intruder, make amusment from it. Killing them in one post is just not creative, or good RPING. Just my thoughts on the matter...do as you will though.

Yes, and we had a huge, long, drawn out debate about this at the old site.
What I did was perfectly within my rights. I don't feel like explaining the whole thing, ask Rose or Mich. And as for what I did not being 'creative' enough for you, I couldn't really care less. I also really don't care if you thing I'm not a 'good RPer'. *shrugs*
Edit: As for 'toying' with them, as you say? Most of them, when they realize that they are going to die, to a ONE, decide that they have super-n00b powers and cannot be touched. So that doesn't really work.

and as for the fact that vampires were chosen because they are good writers then prove it...i have had problems with pretty much all the vampires horrible RPGing...especially when they should know better it is completely falsely advised that they should have this "right"...once you have proven yourself i think its okay that you decide but it falls back on what have you done lately to deserve such a power that you obviously cant handle
