I do not God-RP. God RP is giving another character thoughts, actions, and feelings. I simply drained the girl, I didn't make her do anything. Therefore, I did not God-RP. Learn what you're arguing about before you open your mouth.
You know what else? Throughout this whole debauchle, I have not ONCE insulted your writing, Christopher. Not one damn time, though quite a few people would agree that I would have a reason to. Just because you've been doing this for five years doesn't mean you're better than everybody, and you sure weren't saying I was a bad RPer in your melo.
I can't abide two-faced people, and I'm most definitely not going to RP with them.

You're the one who doesn't get it, and now you're not even making any sense. But then, all of your arguments or 'debates' end that way, with you spouting pompous, nonsensical crap.

this cocky attitude must go too... It's a shame that you cannot follow your own advice. Do you want to know what the real WHY question is? Why must everyone come here and complain?! The Student Council board's purpose is to address issues and WORK THEM OUT! Not bicker and pompously strut about like certain stereotypical male animals! This site is an RPG world with certain rules that we all adhere to from our agreement when we first signed up. If you're killed in the Tunnels or the Lair then so be it! There is a clear warning stated above every page. Everyone knows what would happen if they were to enter, and yet they still do! Why? Other than a preformulated plot? The vampires that I have seen are all well endowed with writing skills with the exception of one, but so far, that person hasn't killed anyone yet. Other than a plot, what other reason would you go there for? To prove you're some sort of big shot with a big sword, a shiny crucifix, and a clove of garlic? It's plain and simple: If you don't want to be killed, don't go into the Lair/Forest/Tunnels! This place is exceptional, it has places that are purposely off limits, just as if it were real. As for all the complaining, do you know how much Rose and Claire do and sacrifice to give us what we have?! They gave us a place to live in a world of magic, mystery, and fantasy. And yet it's soured by all this incessant squabling! Quite frankly, I am very turned off to see petty boasting over the likes of levels of role-playing capabilities. GET OVER IT! ... now I'm gonna go and wash my car.

The Prefect Queen has spoken, and I yield.
Apologies, Jadey. Just because I don't take outright insults well doesn't mean I should stoop to that level. You're 100% right, and I'm very sorry.

Erm, yes, I know this is over and dead, but ... uhhm ...
::glances nervously at Jade::
Right. Just to clarify ... vampires don't have any so-called "special powers." We're stronger than humans, yes, and we have better senses than humans, but the majority of us can't even go out into the sunlight, and, hell, it's not like we can use any magic. So I don't see where you come off saying that we abuse our "special powers."
Furthermore, this being as it is, why do you people have to pursue us to the one place where we can kill you without your consent? I mean, come on ... is it solely so that threads like this will be started? You know you're going to be killed.
If you want to see what really happens in the lair when good RPers collaborate on a thread, go read "Set Me Free."
And, for the record ... Cole is by far one of the most talented RPers on the site, and not only because his posts include those little things called grammar and spelling (although it does help to have a firm grasp on those concepts, especially if English is your NATIVE TONGUE). And, Chris ... I believe you're the only person on this site who would pretend to believe otherwise.
There. I think that's all ... sorry Jade ...

That's okay, Blaise. I'm new to the site and all, but all I've been hearing so far is all this arguing about how to regaurd newbies like little ol' me. That and this thread about the caves. Now, I won't go so far as to presume anything, but I think that the foundation of any thread (and I don't just mean threads limited to these dangerous places) should be built on good will between people that are RPing. And that includes relaying IMs to and fro between characters before and during threads. Its a good idea, not matter what way you go about it, to contact the people you RP with. I'm surprised that such a simple concept would be so heavily disregarded.
Think about it like this, for its the conclusion I've reached after looking at everal different threads here and there. There's a lot of people that would agreee or disagree that the rules of these boards are absurd. I think it adds a touch of realism. If you're willing to enter these places and act like you own the place, then you won't recieve a warm welcome, and it will be by people that don't feel like cooperating. However, if we try Cole's idea and communicate with IMs, then you'll be able to get more realistic threads that aren't so one-sided. I heard a vampire say earlier that they would be more than willing to engage in gripping threads that don't involve someone dying in one post. I don't know where exactly I'm going with all this, but oh well.

Sam - The things you've said are completely correct. I, as well, plan my larger plots through IM before I begin writing them, and there are vampire-human interactions that are much more interesting than just "I come into the lair whoops look I'm dead." I know that most of us vampires jump at the chance to have an interesting thread with a student. That being said, I'm glad that you understand it all, and I agree with you that the rules add a touch of realism to the site.
The way I see it, "newbie" refers less to an amount of time than it does to the attitude of an RPer, and you really don't seem at all like a "newbie" to me.

Wow, that was interesting.
[/sarcasm]
Look, this Student Council is turning into b****fest 2004, so why don't we just stop it? Cole has explained the rules of the Vampires' Lair fairly accurately - if you want to start a thread with one of the Vampires and not die, then feel free to IM them and ask. I know a few who would be glad to help. After all, the Vamps don't get as much RPing as the rest of you, that awful sunlight rule and all that. But they have proprity over their own land simply because it is theirs. Just as they are not allowed in your Common Rooms. Only difference is that they are killers, and you will be killed for it.
It all makes sense to me.

Your right, too, Cole. But I did some research before I joined this site. I viewed some threads and one of them I happened to view was the one containing the character named Bal, and yourself. Now I complete understand that she was not to be in the Vampire Caves. Being so new and entering a places as such, was, indeed not a bright idea. But if someone comes into the Vampire Lair and posts once, then a Vampire kills them in the second post. Thats not RPING, thats G-RPING (For those of you who don't know, it's God-RolePaying.) In 99.9% of RP forums/chats/games/etc. thats against the rules. *Flips through MH's rules.* I'm not trying to tell the Vampires how they should kill imbecile characters that walk into the Lair to quote- 'kill the vampires off'- but perhaps the Vampires could do it in a more...classy fashion. Toy with the intruder, make amusment from it. Killing them in one post is just not creative, or good RPING. Just my thoughts on the matter...do as you will though. And I QUOTE: 4) Killing of Characters: The killing of any character that does not belong to you is not allowed, under any circumstances, unless that character has given you permission to kill them beforehand. This is an offence taken very seriously, and can grant you immediate suspension from the school. "Lethal" boards such as the Vampires Lair, etc, are dangerous, and it is only there that the residents of that board are allowed to kill without prior permission. And thanks Jade, at least YOU got my point.

I GOT A SACK TODAY AT MY FOOTBALL GAME!!!
and we won our opener...*parties*
woooooooooo
i think this calls for a celebration
as for this (thread bulls***) ill get back to it later...yes the vampire rule is the stupidest rule ever invented but WR has my FULL respect...*shrugs*...i can argue whatever and i may be right but WR = my hero ;D
it could just be the liquor from the after game party...but i didnt have enough to be completely drunk if i can still type...
*shrugs*
YEAH!!!
Edit: Chris? My good friend, it's in the Muggle World where we speak of our sacks in Football games though no one in the Magic World cares about this 'ball that is somehow related to the foot area'. I'm locking this thread now because I'm sick and tired of hearing the same things repeated by different people over and over again.
Okay, here' s a way to go at it people. How about ye just start a poll if you want to find out how many people agree with you? Because it's just the same nonsense over and over! The Vampires have COMPLETE control over their prey in their house. I mean geez, if you had an axe, and there was a chicken in your house, would the guy next door say 'Hey! You can't eat that chicken!'? I didn't think so.
Lockety Lock Lock...WR, if you have anything else to say, admins and MODs have the powers to TRANSCEND locks...wheeeee....
