The girl shrugged whilst staring at the mirror, then turned back to Hayzie. She looked almost dumb-stricken from Carmen's question about her hair, which soon changed to curiousness. "Well, to be quite honest, I've only ever been there once..." Oh that day... that day had created so many memories that she could cherish forever.
But what ever happened to that boy?
After realising she had zoned out in thought of the last and first time she had gone into the wizarding village, the girl blinked twice, then smiled, changing her hair into a brilliant red.

"Only once..." Hayzie repeated in whispered tones to herself, looking down at her knees for a moment. It had been a while since she, herself, had been to the wizarding village... maybe it was time for them both to venture there again.
Nodding approvingly at the red colour, Hayz laughed a little. "Tell you what, how about we meet in Hogsmeade tomorrow lunchtime?" she asked with a smile. "Do lunch, and do a little shopping. I'm sure you deserve a break, and I'll talk Kiki round, promise," Hayzie grinned, praying she was speaking the truth. "After all, don't you get two days off a week?"

The girl grinned. Kiki wasn't a horrible boss! Far from it, but maybe others didn't know that. "I do, but I don't want to be an inconvenience to her!" the girl exclaimed, waving around her arms frantically after changing her hair back to the blue that was normal for Carmen.

Hayzie shook her head lightly. She knew as well as anyone that even if it was an inconvenience, Kiki wouldn't let it show quickly.
"C'mon... only for a few hours... Pleeeeeeeeease?" she tried, widening her eyes and sticking out her bottom lip slightly. "Call it a lunch break..."

There it was. The puppy eyes. She had never thought that people could really like her, especially from past experiences. But the proof came the day that she had arrived in Hogsmeade, and in the Hufflepuff Common room.
Breathing a heavy sigh with a wide grin, she girl said "Ok, but you're doing the talking!" Afraid that she might lose her job for asking for some time off, the girl returned the puppy-eyes.

"Fine, fine," Hayzie laughed. For a second, Carmen had reminded herself of Little Hayzie; one day when she had wanted to go shopping with Maria and Jamie, and they had agreed, she had told them that they had to do the talking.
"After all, didn't I say I would to begin with?" she grinned, taking the breaks off her wheelchair and wheeling over to Kiki's office, knocking on the door to see if she was back from her lunch yet and the two hadn't noticed.

OOC: Yes, because Ki is quite obviously a tyrant. BIC: Kiki had stepped out of her fireplace in her office and was tapping her wand to her shoulders to get rid of the ash when there was a knock at the door. Starting a little, Kiki pulled a piece of parchment and a quill close, scribbling down a quick note. She threw the quill back in its inkwell and whistled lowly; one of her official owls came swooping over and landed on her desk. Kiki tied the letter to its leg and whispered the recipient in its ear. It hooted obediently then flew toward the 'window' and disappeared. "Come in," She called, trying to scrub an inkstain from her fingers - apparentely she had tried to write with the ink a little too quickly.

Upon hearing the 'come in' off Kiki, Hayzie rolled her eyes and used her wand to open the door. After all, pushing it open herself proved to be continually difficult. Giving it a silent order to stay open, the blonde girl wheeled herself into the Ministresses office, a small smile used in pre-greeting, but also partly at the ink stain on her friend's fingers.
"I've heard Muggle ink removers work wonders. Have you seen them? The pens with the white remover thing on the end? They always confused me," she laughed a little.

Kiki didn't look up as the dook swung open and grinned at the sound of Hayzie's voice filtering through the room. She rubbed at her fingers as she replied:
"That may be the case, but as I don't really have any Muggle ink remover around..." She glanced up as she trailed off, then blinked several times at Hayzie's new appearance.
"Hate to break it to you love, April Fool's Day was a few months ago." Kiki teased slightly. "What's the occasion for the marvellous Gryffindor Prankster?"

"Me neither, come to think of it," Hayzie replied, looking rather deep in thought before another smile broke loose, one which didn't know what to do with itself at her friend's following words. Finally someone was breaking the monotony of 'What happened to you?'
Though pranks didn't seem to be Hayz's forte much as of late. It seemed, to some of the professor's surprise or delight, that the blonde Prefect seemed to be settling down in time for her final year at the school.
"There's no occasion," Hayzie replied, putting the breaks on the chair. "Not for this, anyway," she continued, jabbing a thumb at the metal contraption beneath her. "But we were wondering, well, I was wondering, Carmen's not sure... but can she have an.... extended lunch break on Friday?" the Prefect grinned, putting the puppy dog eyes on again. "Puh-lease!!!"

Kiki frowned slightly as she pondered the cryptic weight of Hayzie's words. Deciding to let it go for a moment, she turned her attention to Hayzie's request. Amused at the thought that Carmen had asked Hayzie to ask on her behalf, Kiki brushed a strand of hair from her eyes and pretended to think about it.
"Why didn't Carm come in here herself and ask?" Kiki wondered aloud, tapping a finger to her chin somewhat theatrically.

Hayzie grinned slightly at her question, knowing that Kiki had meant it as private musing, but the words had been spoken aloud instead of in her head. "Well, here's the thing," Hayz started, an air of schoolgirl innocence to her voice. "She didn't want to inconvenience you. So, what I'm offering, is if Carmen has an extended lunch break, I'll come in with her and help... as much as I can... if you want? Then everything can still be done, and then we can go out, too."
Maybe her words had been spoken in a rushed manner, but they got the point across, didn't they? "After all, she's just told me that she doesn't go out very often, so I thought maybe we could go shopping and do lunch. You could come, too, if you wanted. Make it a proper girly lunch," Hayz smiled, using her favorite tactic.
Clasping her hands on her knees, her green eyes sparkled innocently as she looked over at Kiki, still trying to get the stain off her hands. "So, whatdoya say?"

Kiki pretended to think it over, but already knew that the two of them standing in her office knew the answer already. It'd be nice to get to know Carm a little better on a more personal level than a professional level. She looked at Hayzie who was still pulling the puppy dog eyes trying not to laugh or grin maniacally.
Kiki gave her fingers one last pointless rub and nodded.
"Sounds fantastic. Count me in." She winked at Hayzie then pointed her wand at the door, closing it. She poked at the wheelchair with her wand and raised an eyebrow.
"Care to explain?"

Ah. Now the question that she knew was coming. At least Kiki had agreed to come along with them, as well as giving Carmen her extended lunch break. An 'I told you so' would be teasingly told in Carmen's direction a little later on... but for now....
A more than guilty look crept on Hayz's face as Kiki continued to look her way, an eyebrow raised in question. How was best to explain in? In her mind, two scenarios played out...
"Well, Ki... the thing is... I went back into the forest, to try and rescue yet another student that had gone astray. Well, while I was there, I ran into an old friend. She decided that I'd got on her nerves, so she ripped the muscles out of my legs, snapped a few nerves, broke my knees, burnt me repeatedly... oh, and ripped out my collar bone. No biggy."
Well that one would go down well, wouldn't it? Smiling nervously, Hayzie quickly decided on the latter option. "I had a bit of an accident, that's all."

Kiki chuckled dryly and leant against the front of her desk, fixing Hayzie with a firm stare. She crossed her arms over her chest, her wand pointing to the ceiling.
"Really?" She asked. "An accident?" She mulled it over for a moment. "Plausible. I'll take it." She paused for a moment again, putting Hayzie into some sort of suspense before replying.
"How did this accident occur, exactly?"
