OOC: Actually, the lemming thing was funny...even though no one caught on that they were making fun of all the bloody animagi registrations. Allow me to get something off of my chest.
Ahem. Animagi are RARE. There're like 12 people in this thread attempting to become animagi. Your character needs to go through development and all that so that it's a more natural progression rather then just waltzing right and deciding you're one. Theoretically only Medea and Rowan seem to be the only REAL animagi. And I'm only counting Medea in there because she was the first one at the old MH.
Come one people, do some practicing and character development before this place becomes overrun. It's not bloody realistic.
End rant.

OOC: Alright. This has been bothering me for a while, too.
Yes, I'm going to go off on a bit of a rant. And no, it's not directed at anybody personally, so don't bother getting all huffy and offended.
Damiana's "lemming" post was a humorous way of trying to get a point across without throwing any harsh words around, to try and avoid offending people. Since it apparently didn't work, let me reiterate.
First of all, I completely concur with Adhara's point. Animagi are quite rare. It is not a status easily obtained, and as such, it seems rather silly to have flocks of people coming in to register as one--especially since the majority of characters at MH are students and turning oneself into an animal is something that many adult wizards can't manage.
Both Medea and Rowan are well-developed, well role-played characters who actually went through the process of developing their Animagi abilities through role-playing. My suggestion is that if you want to become an Animagi, role-play developing your character to that status, rather than just deciding that your character automatically has this exceedingly rare and difficult to come by power. That is the point of a role-playing site, after all. You could go see the Transfiguration techer, professor Romani, or to Medea or Rowan who've already been through the process.
Finally, since this is a guideline for everyone and not just one or two people on this thread, or this site, keeping this to a PM wouldn't be very effective. Then we'd simply PMing the same thing over and over to different people, and probably making this whole affair into a personal quarell when it doesn't need to be.
Thank you.

ooc: this isn't directed towards anybody I am personally making it so that i can't use most of the abilities at will, I'm doing it so that after a long period of time i would gain controll of my abilities... it's just a suggestion so that newbs aren't RPgoding just a suggestion from a newb to other newbs

Oh okies, I think I get it now Kalyn...*goes to explain*
Yes, sorry Dante, those rants weren't directed at you. For me at least, your post reminded me that the thread was here, and I'd been meaning to say that for a while cause it's been pissing me off.
Oh yes, and sorries, but I'm confused as to what you meant by using RPgoding in that sense...

I completly agree with Dante about this whole issue- I haven't been here very long (I'll admit it) and my character's animagi is pretty darn weak. I never said I was going to be waltzing all over the place changing like a lycan can....perhaps in a month.. or two, or three.
But, just for the record, I won't be using my animagi form for a long while. I really don't want to offend anyone who worked hard for it or make other people think that I'm a bad roleplayer...

btw i dun care if it was directed at me or not, i find just about all criticism helpful I personally am having it at about every 50 posts i start to be able to controll a new aspect such as being able to turn back at will, all things put into perspective and i'm also doing this so that i can get better at RPing. not putting things bluntly or making it dull (I.E. my intro on this thread) i dun wanna make this boring for anyone.

Yes, and my character is jsut learning who exactly she is, and her animag form will be wuite powerfull as a dragon, but for now, seh can only change from having the dragon wings and not having them with some difficulty still i mught add. So, I guesss this is my entrance, I hate that it had to be at a very sensitive point. However, atleast i got to know what peoples views are all about.

...animagi doesn't include magical creatures such a phoenix... and yes, that is the PROPER spelling. That is straight from Professor Romani's mouth, the Transfiguration teacher. Well, obviously she can't transform into a dragon, since magical creatures cannot be Animagus forms. And I don't care what you all say about using RP development or "waiting" for a while before using it. I believe that the very final decision on whether or not you are allowed to be an Animagus (or to have any other unusual powers) should come from either Wilted Rose or Claire. They run this place, after all, and should be able to keep this problem under control. 'Nuff said.

OOC: personally i think that as long as you don't RPgodmode or overuse the ability, it's fine. Just use it properly with moderation, and ur fine but that's just me

Would that be Kalista? *holds back from saying anything else for the meantime*

People who use 'Animagi' powers after being here for only a post or two are likely to be ignored, or ridiculed, for not knowing better. All-powerful characters are, as has been said many times before, extraordinarily annoying and detract from the point of being here, which is to simply be in the magical world.
The Ministeress is supposed to control applications for things such as Aurorship, Aminagi registration, etc. Things that are not associated with your official status but are important to your character and to the magical world. If you have problems, please discuss them with her. If she is, however, not able to meet with these demands, or finds herself unable to cope with the levels of pressure that applicants are placing upon her, then it seems we need a new Minister(ess) to replace her, as this section of the boards is getting quite overlooked.
It is not Claire's or my job to oversee all the boards, and every post - we have different moderators of the different boards for reasons; simply being that we do not have the time to be on here 24/7, quite understandably. We do not profit from this forum - on the contrary, it has cost me quite a bit to keep this going - but it is worth it just to make you all happy. It is not preposterous to ask others to manage boards, so Claire and I would both appreciate it if your blame would not automatically lie with us.
I am not even sure if I have answered the question - in short, see the Ministeress, and if you get nothing back, I'll sort you out with a new one.

LOL, well, all I am saying is that I do not intend to go around playing GOD or anything but yes, Kalista is a dragon-like breature, not human actually. She just deosn't know it. *Shrugs* Alas, I guess animag is not actually what she is but I understand what you are all saying.

Okay... to whoever found my quote confusing... x.x :
It basically said that no "magical creature" could be an Animagus form. The dragon is a magical creature...
So that's what I was getting at. ^^;;
