A man staggered through the dark depths of the Forbidden Forest, fully aware of the dangers of the place but not caring at all. He sobbed quietly and slowly made his way from tree to tree, bracing himself along the way. He wiped a strand of spiked green hair out of his flame orange eyes, which were glassy and full of tears. His bare feet stumbled over tree roots and around bushes, over rocks and around stumps. Finally he collapsed, sliding up against a nearby tree and holding his head in his hands. He brought one knee up close to him and seemed to blend into the darkness in his matte black outfit. Only his bare feet stuck out in the blackness.
His sobbing continued, increasing slightly in decibels. The man felt the Forest around him, creatures of all shapes, sizes and species stopping to listen for a moment before continuing on with their lives. He secretly wondered how many would come up to him and get a closer look.
OOC: Note - This post was written while listening to the Goo Goo Dolls' "Sympathy." It's a sad song, so it works with the mood. And sorry it's so short...I tried not to be very specific on purpose...

One of the most out-of-place sounds cracked through the silence that had engulfed the sorrowful sobs of the Lycan. And yet, this sound wasn't so out of place. This Demon had her home here, within the depths of the trees, and so her movement and sounds weren't too obscurely different. Each step the booted-woman took, the black and red latex rubbed against eachother, a deathly sound for one about to meet their end. It was cloaked almost all over her body, spare the upper half of her tanned chest, and the shades; some of them matched the chauffer's hat that she wore so snugly atop her cropped brown hair.
This woman, scarcely looking older than thirty, with her inch-thick boots, had become so at home within the trees. But the sobs that had been lasting for many minutes evoked her attention, not too much of a rare thing, and so, leaping with cat-like elegance into thedead willow above the green-haired Lycan, called down a mock-hiss of a house cat. "Such ludicrousy that you're here, Lycan. You do not belong to the pack that dwells in this territory, do you?" Chided the woman from above, crouched on her hands and knees with the black tail that belonged to her other form swishing impatiently about.

The man started for a moment and then looked up into the trees as a woman clad in two-tone latex with a tail spoke to him. He had expected to be interrupted eventually, but he wasn't sure by whom. He had expected a Forest Lycan, and yet he was mistaken.
"Ludicrousy, you say? My dear lady, this entire world is ludicrous. All of our lives and the meanings or what we thought were meanings behind them are ludicrous. Man seeks to destroy man by ever more creative ways of destruction, and yet we live on. Ludicrous, you say? I wouldn't be nearly so elegant with the term."
The man's blazing orange eyes had glassed over and he struggled to clear his vision completely. Such weakness, he thought, to dispair over something so trivial. So why was it affecting him so much? He felt disgusted with himself. He was losing his edge, and that meant it would be easier to lose his life as well. He cursed under his breath and shook his head, losing the tears that had formed. He blinked and looked again at the woman.
"To answer your question, my lady - No. I don't belong to the pack that dwells in these trees. However at this particular moment I really couldn't care less. It seems like all the other aspects of my life have gone horribly askew, so why not throw this one into the mix?"
The man was disgruntled, dazed and very confused. What did he do to deserve all this?

This way, and that, the black rosetted tail swung, almost as lengthy as herself when standing. Sending one long nail into the wood of the branch, she dragged it back, opening up a wound that, if the tree had been alive, would have shown green life. Almost as green as the Lycan's hair. She repeated this movement, then retracted her finger from where it had been scratching, then lifted her head to gaze up the tree and out into the sky's night frivolously, as if she were speaking with an ant.
"You say these words like the world revolves around humans," she let slip pass her red-painted lips boredly. So many times she had met beings as bemused as this Lycan, and holding the same depressed visage. And so many times she had brought an end to their lack of euphoria, in more ways than one. "And yet, there are many species of creatures dangerously more aware of humans than the humans are of themselves." It was almost like reitterating so many of those instances of depression that the world of humans had dropped themselves so easily into.

ooc: If I am not wanted; just say the word.
bic: "Humans", said a voice with disgust from the shadows, "Humans are weaklings that have no right in the world. They think that it is their's for the taking and that they are the masters of it, but not so. They fade and die as quickly as the leaves fall from the Forest in autumn." Slowly the figure walked out of the shadows and stood before the demoness and the other lycan. The figure was at of a man in his thirties with black hair and eyes yet one could not see the eyes clearly for there were field glasses that obstructed them. The male lycan paid little heed to the demoness, and focused his attention on the other of his kind.
And his eyes widened with surprise from behind his glasses as his mind realized who that lycan was. It was the one that had hurt him, mocked him and left him in his agony to suffer. This was the one that tormented him with simple words; knowing that he no longer would be the same as before; knowing that he was no longer normal. A bemused smile slowly appeared on Fenris' face; so now the tables had turned and his tormentor stood before him in pain; not of the flesh but what seemed of the mind for the green-haired one was in perfect health.
In a mocking tone of voice, Fenris leaned up against a nearby maple and said to the lycan that stood before him, "Well; time sure does fly my tormenting friend. Ironic that I am now in the position that you were once in and you stand there before me; in something akin to what I was going through at the Tunnels. Funny how fate works, isn't it? And now Fate graces me with you entering my domain; this wondrous realm of wood. So my friend, do you too now suffer the same way that I did? Let me offer some words of comfort; 'now you will know what it's like to live in my world, be cursed how I have been cursed, live in fear everyday of those who hunt you down for who you are. Now you're just a monster to your former kind. You're in MY world, now'."
"Your very words, my friendly tormentor; the very ones that you spoke to me as I reeled in agony before you. And now you too shall feel their sting; just as I have.", said Fenris; the mocking tone dominating his voice, "So how does it feel? Does your own advice comfort you at this time?"

OOC: No, I don't mind at all. This should prove interesting for Xavier. By the way, I hold no grudge against you whatsoever personally, just to make that clear. This is gonna be fun!
BIC:
A voice appeared out of the darkness, and Xavier had been completely unaware of his presence. He cursed again. He really was losing his touch with reality. He should have sensed him coming, that abomination of a Lycan that thought of humans as food rather than as allies.
"You know nothing of what I go through!" Xavier spat. "Don't talk to me, you retched excuse for a Lycan! You treat humans as dinner, when they deserve just as much respect as we should have! Humans have created and shaped this world as it is. Without humans, we would not be blessed with this language, with our clothing, with aspects of our very lives. Look at you. You wear what humans created! And yet you speak of them as fish waiting to be caught. I pity you, Fenris. Yes, I know your name. I don't know anyone who doesn't at this point."
Xavier's eyes blazed with fury, and yet his own muscles were too weak for him to get up and tear the opposing Lycan's heart out of his chest cavity. Then Xavier felt something inside him give way. A burning sensation deep within him. Suddenly his lungs clogged up and he retched, coughing out blood. He looked down at the red-soaked ground beneath him with wide eyes as he coughed again, this time the blood spraying into his fist. He opened his fingers and felt the crimson wetness between them. Then, he began to laugh. He laughed, and laughed, and laughed. A horrible, echoing laugh interrupted by fits of coughing. Soon his vision became blurry around the edges and Xavier began to feel a little faint. He braced a hand on the ground beside him and he leaned back harder against the tree, struggling to stay upright.
"You know nothing of what I feel. You have no idea at all. I live in a world that I try to better through my efforts to COEXIST with humans, and yet Lycans like you continually tear those fragile bonds apart, causing more bloodshed and dispair."
Xavier wiped the blood from his mouth with the back of his hand and spat more blood at the other Lycan.
"I pity you, Fenris, just as I pitied you when I stood over your former self as you writhed in agony after my granddaugher so rightously bit you, forcing you to change into a beast you never thought you'd find yourself becoming. And now I look at you, standing so high and mighty like a hunter satisfied with his kill. Well guess what? I'm not going to be that kill today, and you're certainly not going to be the hunter. So why don't you just leave me be so that I can recover in peace, okay?"
Xavier snorted then closed his eyes and attempted to breathe deeply, taking in more of the precious oxygen that would help him regain his strength and repair whatever had become damaged inside. He sensed Fenrir just standing there, most likely either smirking in his glory or fuming in anger. Either way, Xavier couldn't have cared less. Now was not his time to pass on to the next world, even though he was sure Fenrir would have assisted him in a heartbeat.
"Now go away before I'm able to regain my strength and kick your sorry a** out of here myself."

I've been thinking 'bout the meaning of resistance, Of a hope beyond my own. But when I look at the stars, I feel like myself.
It was pitch black outside as the girl strode along the lakeside, once again trying to become accustomed to her human form. Rayne had been so kind as to work the tangles from her hair and just this morning she had decided to braid it, making her blend in with the other humans that had decided that this night was the perfect one for a stroll. Blending- what an interesting thing. She was surrounded by humans, who she could so easily kill and have hardly a second thought about it. But she didn't, because they looked upon her as one of their own kind. How funny things could be sometimes.
Suddenly, she began to feel a little bit funny. Something didn't feel right to her, something about this particular time that made her rather nervous and almost afraid. There was something happening, but without the senses of her wolven form she couldn't quite grasp it. Feeling rather troubled, she ducked behind a small bush and quickly changed.
The smell of blood flooded her nostrils as though there were a dying animal right next to her, even though she knew that couldn't be true. All around her the humans continued to mind their own buisness, laughing or just talking. What was wrong? It had to be Alissa. Something must have happened to 'Lissa.
Growling in anger, she burst from the bushes and instinctivly headed into the forest. Her darkened form flew over the ground and payed no heed to her lack of direction. Alissa was in trouble and she had to help her. The smell of metallic blood grew stronger as she went deeper into the forest, still not losing speed.
She nearly slammed into the ground as she skidded to a stop, considerably suprised to see Xavier was the one who was in trouble. Either way, it hardly mattered. Her eyes drifted down to his hands, which were stained red, and then they drifted to Fenris. She hardly even noticed the woman who was standing there, for her eyes were filled with hatred directed at her creation.
'You hurt him!' She shrieked, immeadiatly assuming the worst. 'I thought you had died; and now you return to cause pain to my own family?' She didn't pay any heed to the fact that she was in the forest lycan's territory- all that she cared about was bringing about the eventual destruction of this horrid creature that she had caused to be born.

Slowly but surely, the black cat tail weaved its way around the woman's form as she lowered herself down, letting her elbows bend over the edge as her hands supported her head on the branch, with both legs tucked either side of the dead tree. Though this was quite considerably more interesting than –not even- watching the green haired one, as the second Lycan showed himself, he was still a Lycan, just with a feud against the first. By the scent, this being, this second Lycan had been in the forest before this instance. Something seemed to have clicked inside this Lycan, removing the lack of interest and replacing it with an appetent stare.
Locking the perpetual pool that were her eyes straight on the second Lycan as he spoke, something moved behind her. The tail twitched, impatience again seeking path through her mind. Now, it was the green-haired Lycan's time to speak, more like yell, to which Lothani interrupted, still with the same boredome "Humans hardly deserve the respect other beings receive." The blood that this Lycan had hacked up held poignancy, which only just tapped through her interest barrier. Although this little group was no where near worth the time she had given them, the Demon grew comfortable atop the tree that the pitiful Lycan had once been resting against.
Though the Demon lived within the confines of the forest, and knew fully well that the two tunnel Lycans were not welcome in this territory, it wasn’t her position to remove them, but it was the second Lycan's. Almost totally in silence she watched, with majestic poise holding the female still, as if about to pounce and kill. But this wasn’t her time to do so, and though there was a considerable amount of meat on the Lycan’s flesh, those few times she had feasted on their kind had left her quite pallid, bringing in the questions which were usually focused on her attire. Her hand lifted to gently tuck a few hairs behind her ear as she watched, so still that she could have looked like a statue that had been there for a perpetual amount of time.

Xavier's heart skipped a beat and jumped into his throat as he heard a familiar voice inside his head.
"Cealla! Get out of here!" he struggled to keep his voice steady as he coughed up a little more blood. "You don't need to be here and you're only putting yourself in danger!"
As the demoness above him spoke of the relative worthlessness of humans, Xavier gave a light chuckle, pausing to spit out more blood. It wasn't as numerous as before, which meant his body had begun to heal itself, but he still needed time. If either of the two beings decided to attack, he'd be relatively defenseless.
"Hardly deserve the respect? I find that odd, actually. Considering the fact that we share many appearances with them. Two legs, two arms, two eyes, a mouth, you get the idea. We have adjusted ourselves so much to look like them, and yet you say that they don't deserve the respect. If not, then why aren't humans modeled to look like something else? If not, what would we look like, I wonder? Let your mind think of its own designs, but I tend to think that without humans, we would not be who we are. Sure, you may have that tail of yours that lingers from your other form, and we Lycans may have heightened strength, speed, and senses, but all of our superior abilities stem from humanity. I know what it's like to be human. I was, at one point. I was absolutely astounded by the subtle genetic variations of humanity. No two look exactly alike. Their individuality is what makes them unique. Poor pitiful them, you say? I say 'Poor us.'"
More time. Just a little more time, then he could get up and walk away from it all.

The tormentor dared to mock him? Even in the pain that he was suffering, he still had enough energy reserved within to taunt Fenris where he stood? Fenris' fists clenched and unclenched; a dark rage was building up inside of him, wanting to feel the green-haired lycan's carotid artery break under the pressure of Fenrir's bite. He wanted to taste his tormentor's blood; he wanted to rip him from limb to limb; and yet he could not bring himself to do it. The veins in Fenris' neck started to bulge as did his eyes as he begin to lose control over himself, but it was a small voice that halted his madness for the moment.
The voice of the smaller lycan that had just entered was one that he would never forget. It was the one that haunted all of his dreams; this was the one that stole everything that meant anything to Richard Rutherford, but it was also the same that gave life to Fenris Fenrir and Fenris was not one to forget such a kindness done to him. Rutherford was the fool and Fenris easily took over the body that the two mentalities shared and had expelled Richard; never to be seen again. So it was Fenris that weathered the hate-laden words of the pup, but once those words had left her mouth; he smiled.
This smile reflected both Fenris' state of mind and what he was capable of doing. Ignoring the small debate of moralities going on between his tormentor and the demoness, Fenris slowly walked over to the pup and crouched down in front of her. "If only I was the one that did this to your grandfather, little one", cooed the black-haired lycan in an eerie tone, "But who would have ever thought that a mother would have treated her son in such a way that she wanted him dead; for that is what you want is it not? But for as long as we live; you are my mother and I your son. And it is such a pity that you do not see it that way."
Swiftly and roughly, Fenris grabbed the little female by the scruff of her neck and held her dangling in the air in front of him for Xavier to see. Fenris' other hand tightly grabbed the younger lycan throat while she was suspended in the air. "Retched you call me?", roared Fenris with pleasure and madness, "Look at yourself tormentor! There you lay in the dirt like the dog you are and you have the nerve to call me retched? You make me laugh, fool; but now the joke is up. Leave the Forest now and never set foot in it's confines again; or I will kill your beloved grand-daughter here and now. And don't try and save her, tunnel rat, because as you said; I am a retched excuse of a lycan and we retched excuses tend to be very unstable and unpredictable. So begone from the woods! Or I will make you watch your precious pup die before your eyes."
Smiling inward, Fenris knew that he had achieved something akin to a victory over his tormentor. If what he had remembered from his earliest days as a lycan held any truth to them; then Xavier would not risk anything with the life of his grand-daughter on the line. If he did; the Tunnels would be short of one member and then the Forest would have a better chance in surviving in the ever shrinking world of the woods, for it seemed as more students came to the school; the further the woods receded. So once the Tunnels were out of the way, those lycans that remained would be saved, and Fenris Fenrir intended to be one of them.

ooc: Okay, guys. I'm not feeling well, so the crapness of this post can be excused? right?
bic: Alissa had opened one eye as Cealla crept out of the tunnels, not for the first time that day, but in her human form. Looking at her own small paws, the brown pup wondered why she had not been capable of performing the same act herself. Though she was, admittedly, interested as to where Cealla kept disappearing off to, and this time, decided to follow.
However what she saw wasn't what was expected, and as the man picked up her twin, Alissa jumped forwards. He had just said he was a Lycan, and so therefore biting him again wouldn't do any more harm, would it?
"No!!!" she called out, running from behind the bushes and sinking her teeth into the back of the man's foot, before letting go and repeatedly headbutting the back of his leg. "Let her go! Leave her alone you meanie!" But when he still didn't let go, 'Lissa went to the back of his other foot and bit that one, too. "I said let her go!!!" In the past, Cealla had helped her out of tricky situations, so why shouldn't she help her twin now when she needed it, too.

In his small window of triumph; soon the storms of pain that Fenris knew all too well began to race up both of his legs. He felt the blood slowly leak from his body and something came over the lycan that he had never experienced before. There was so little pain compared to his first transformation and the horrid mutation that he had gone through afterward, so this small amount of pain didn't seem to register in his mind that he should be feeling agony or anything. Fenris still staggered forward and released his grip on the pup's neck in order to catch himself before he hit a nearby tree.
Then came the waves of laughter. Maniacal laughter poured from the black-haired lycan as swiftly as water runs through a river; the sounds of this crazed and eerie laughter could be heard by any being in the surrounding area and all the smaller mammials of the wood fled into their holes and burrows at the sound of Fenrir's madness. "Let her go, says you?", boomed Fenris in his madness and laughter, "There you go pup; enjoy her while you can!" And with that he hurled Cealla into Alissa and sent them both tumbling into a crumbled pile.
Staggering over to them, he grabbed each of them by the neck and held them high in the air. Fenris' legs still quviered from the small wounds that had been inflicted upon him; the loss of blood taking only a small toll, but he stood as firm as the oaks of the wood in which he made his home. "Well tormentor; is this whelp another from the Tunnels? If so, I think that I shall keep this one too. In fact, I change my mind completely. If you do not leave this Forest now; I shall snap their necks here and now. Perhaps I will have to force feed you their corpses. But if you do leave the Forest as I request; you will see your dear pups again after 6 days pass. During that time; they shall remain with me in the Forest. No harm shall befall upon them; unless you yourself cause it. Now go and never return to the Forest. For if you do; I will kill you the next time I see you. You have my word on that, tormentor of my mind."

Xavier's words reached her ears mere moments too late, however she had no intention from running from a fight such as this. Would Sealla have run like a scared little pup? The answer was no; her namesake wouldn't have backed down. Neither would her mother- despite her disagreements with Amelia's choice to die, she did know that the lycaness that had bore her wouldn't have allowed such an atrocity to continue. Growling fiercely, she stood her ground as the man drew closer to her. She no longer feared him, but merely felt a sense of responsibility for his horrid actions. She had bitten him and given him lycan life, so she felt as though she should destroy him as well.
'I will never be a mother to you.' She replied, lunging out to bite his neck just as he swept her off her feet. Try as she might, his larger size wasn't something that she could overcome. She was still not full-grown, despite the few inches that she had gained since the last full moon. Struggling furiously, her paws and tail beat furiously against the hand that held her in a vain attempt to be released.
'Let me go!' She screamed, trying to make as much noise as possible before his hand lowered over her throat. Her voice was then instantly quelled, afraid that his large fingers would quickly and quitely cut off her breathing and render her lifeless. They tighetened slightly as stars swept in front of her eyes, leaving her unable to pay attention to what the man was even trying to say to Xavier.
'So. You would kill your own mother.' She sent quietly, hoping to at least avoid a fate such as this through pity. Her eyes began to slowly close as she felt his fingers grow even tighter as he yelled, drawing even closer to killing her. And then suddenly, she was falling fast as she quickly drew air into her sore lungs. The world returned in brilliant color as she panted for breath, just having enough time to notice that Alissa was there.
It was pointless to argue now; she hardly had the chance to utter a word before being thrown into her sister. The snapping of bone echoed through the clearing as one of the bones in her paw snapped, causing her to utter a howl of pain. Jerked sharply upward again, she lacked the energy to fight him this time. Limp as a rag doll, she merely hung in the air and whimpered. Regrets and thoughts flew through her mind- would Xavier agree to her creation's request? If she knew her grandfather, she knew that he wouldn't want her or Alissa to die.
There would always be another time to challenge such a monster.

Xavier sat there silently and smiled, then brought himself to gather the strength needed to stand and face the psychotic monster that threatened to extinguish the lives of his two grandchildren. Blazing orange eyes brought themselves up to stare into the opposing Lycan's own. A hard stare was all that was required to get Xavier's message across.
"You coward. You insensitive, unfeeling, psychotic b*****d! How dare you threaten me like that! You don't have even a sliver of a chance of knowing how proud I am of those two little ones. My granddaughters are more Lycan now than you will ever be. But, because I value their lives as much as a loving grandfather should, I will respect you demands."
Xavier straightened himself out, spitting out the last of his blood and licking it off of his lips. He kept his firm stance and took a few steps forward towards Fenris, just close enough to touch his granddaughters but not threaten the other Lycan. He gently scratched the heads of both of his granddaughters, speaking to them quietly inside their minds so that only they could hear him.
Cealla, Alissa, be strong. No matter what this feind may do to you, remember that you are more than he will ever be. Do not fear him, for he is afraid of his own self. He is afraid of who he was and who he has become. Protect and watch over each other as your captor holds you here. I promise that in six days I will return to take you home to where it is safe and where no one will ever harm you. Be strong, you two. I love you both so very much.
Satisfied, Xavier kissed both of the pups on their muzzles and then looked up at Fenris.
"I want your word, Fenris. Give me your word that they will be unharmed when I come back to retrieve them. If I find a single injury on either one of their bodies, I will personally filet you and stuff your innards down your own throat. GIVE ME YOUR WORD. In fact, I have a better idea. Make this promise in blood."
Xavier bent down to his boot and took out a small knife from an ankle sheath, then sliced his palm and held it out to the other Lycan.
"Shake my hand, Fenris. This way your promise can never be broken. In turn, I vow not to return to the Forest until I come back to retrieve my pups."
OOC: I must go for now, feel free to reply. I'll look at it when I return later tonight.

bic: As each word was said, and as each and every moment passed, the fear grew in Alissa's heart, her stomach churned, and as she wriggled and sqirmed to get away from the man, the words echoed around her. Six days?
As the prospect of it sank in, the little brown wolf, the pup so unlike her sister in many ways, began to feel fear she hadn't felt since the Vampire's invasion. Brown eyes quickly widened wider than they had done before as she awaited her Grandfather's answer, and the reply he gave wasn't the one she had wanted to hear.
"Grandpapa! Don't leave us here... please!" 'Lissa pleaded, knowing it wouldn't do any good. His mind was made up, she knew that much, and knew that. The words he spoke were protective, and yet firm. "I don't wanna stay here!"
