Her paw ached furiously as she listened to the words of her proud grandfather, having no noticeable reaction to them like Alissa did. It was what had to be done, no matter how much she disliked it. If he had a choice, she knew that he would firmly refuse to leave them in the chaotic grips of such a being. But there wasn't really a choice, was there? It was death or six days of hell- and she personally felt as though the right choice was made. As much as she disliked the man who now called himself Fenris, she would not die by his hand or upon his behalf.
'I'll be strong, grandfather.' She replied, batting one of her good paws in his direction in an affectionate manner. He was like a father and a mother to her and while she hated him some days, they were still kin. She could never forget what he had done for her in her short days, from fighting the vampires to consoling her after she had bitten Fenris.
Her blue eyes followed Xavier's hand as he made the cut, then drifted to Fenris. She was so sure that he would accept and keep to his word- no matter how much of a monsterous lycan he was, she had the feeling that the beast was still a man of his word. And so she waited, wondering what her fate was to be.

"You son of a b****."
The words were sudden, there having been no previous sound to announce his prescence. They were accompanied by a dark blur that fell from the treetops, like a comet of darkness.
Kage's face was abruptly inches from Fenris' own, and he did not look happy. "You will not touch my daughters. EVER."
His hands blurred, seizing Fenris by the wrists. He dug his thumbs into a certain pair of nerves, causing pain to shoot up Fenris' arms, then his head turned towards Cealla and Alissa, "Run."

Fenris warily eyed the offered hand that bled from the self inflicted wound and it dawned on him that he had won; he had won his first victory. Such a feeling of pride and joy filled the beast's heart but could not penetrate the emotionless exterior of the lycan. How he wanted to howl out his victory in the form that he loved best, but it was best not to show such a thing in front of others. Composing himself, he looked down at the man that stood before him and said, "Very well; they shall receive no harm but if they did; whatever harmed them would be dead before it could harm them again. And as for you coming back to the Forest; you shall not return to pick them up; I will return the pups to the Tunnels personally. And on that you have my word."
Setting down the two grandchildren, Fenris took hold of the blade that Xavier offered him and eyed it for a time. With this blade; he could slay Xavier there and then; he could end all of his troubles and have no major threats to him, and yet....he would not attack under a false pretense. His black eyes flashed behind the field glasses and with the blink of an eye; not only did Fenris cut open the palm of one hand, but he cut the palms of both. Clasping the one hand of Xavier in his two, Fenris said, "You have my word; Lycan of the Tunnels. Now I hold you to your oath for not only do I make this oath on my part; I make this oath on all that I hold sacred. Everything in this Forest, every plant and animal; I swear on them. And perhaps Tormentor; you will come to see that I am not a retched excuse, that I am something more than that."
The stinging that was caused when the two bloods mingled was intense yet brief. After clasping Xavier's hand for five minutes; he let go of the hand, and returned the knife back to it's owner. Slowly with his bleeding hands, Fenris gently picked up the two pups as if they were his own and smiled, not as he normally would, but rather something akin to a fatherly smile when he tucks his children in at night. Slowly he turned to face Xavier and said, "Six days until we meet again, my Tormentor; your pups will be safe. And as for you Demoness, is all that you came for settled? Or is there something else that you feel need to say? For if not, I will take my leave of this gathering."
Yet as he was about to leave; a dark blur plummeted from above at a fast pace and landed right in front of Fenris Fenrir. Whoever this being was wasn't kidding around and pain raced up Fenris' arms from the pressure applied to his nerves and the two pups fell from his grasp. Fenris' black eyes burned with a flame of those that have been betrayed and with a roar of both pain and rage; he slammed his head into Kage's. The field glasses that once perched on the lycan's nose had shattered from the impact of the blow and some of the shards punctured both Kage's brow and his own. Despite the fact that Kage held onto his arms, Fenris decided that was only one thing left to do. With a ululating roar, silver-grey fur began to sprout all over his body.
Within moments; Fenris had shed his human form for the powerful and awe-inspiring one; that of a wolf. After the change was complete; where once a 6' 6" man had stood, now there was a gigantic wolf (8' tall from shoulder to the ground) whose great chest heaved in and out with anger. He had sworn an oath; the first lycan had promised that he would abide by it, but now Fenris Fenrir felt betrayed and now he would exact his revenge. Letting out a blood curling howl, Fenris charged at the attacker and used his head as a battering ram; driving right into the attacker's stomach. He continued to run until he rammed the other lycan into a tree, and left him slumped at it's roots.
Whirling around to face Xavier; Fenris mentally roared, 'Tormentor! You swore that this oath would be upheld, but your side has broken it! I trusted you for just a moment; I thought that I was to prove to you what I am, but now you violate this blood oath with this attacker. You are a liar, a traitor! I trusted you! But never; never again shall I fully trust the word of one of the Tunnels; for they all seemingly make false oaths and lie.'
'And as for you!' roared Fenris into the mind of his attacker, 'You are not welcome in the Woods, Tunnel rat; you should have never come here. Here I am God; here I chose who lives or dies; not you and you are subject to my whim. Here; you are nothing.'

"Ha."
A low, derisive chuckle rose from Kage's hunched form, as he lay at the foot of the tree against which he had been slammed.
"A god? You are nothing but a self-deluded idiot." Kage rose to his feet, rubbing at the muscles of his back. "You say you are king here. Hah, you are King of Nothing! You rely on your other form to bring lower beings into line, and even that is hardly an impressive thing to watch."
He stretched his arms in an almost lazy manner, as if he was already bored with the conversation, "You call human beings the lowest of the low, yet quite recently you were one of them. The pot calling the kettle black, if I've ever heard a better instance."
Now, he simply shook his head piteously, watching Fenris with amused contempt, "You put your entire being into being a Lycan, without bothering to train your human persona to match. Being a warrior is not just being able to defeat an enemy while fully armored, it is also being able to defeat the same enemy while being as naked as the day you were born." He said patiently.
"And as for Xavier, he is my brother. Not my mother. He does not speak for me." Even as he spoke, black fur sprouted from every inch of his body, as he made the transition to his seasoned Lycan form.
You have been one of us for only a short time, yet you claim to be privy to all our secrets. Fool.
In a blur of sinewy muscle and onyx-black fur, he slammed his shoulder into Fenris' nose, knocking the other lycan's muzzle to the side as Kage's teeth grabbed for his throat, preparing to rip and tear.

Before the teeth of the black lycan clamped onto his throat, Fenris quickly batted his foe's head away with his fore-paw; causing some damage to his opponent's face but he too did not escape injury. His neck was bloodied and if one were to look closely, one could see the flesh that covered Fenris' throat. His eyes flashed violently as he stared down his opponent while slowly pacing around him and keeping his head low to the ground so that the attacker couldn't go for the throat a second time.
'I am a God of these woods whether you have the foresight to see it or not.', growled Fenrir into the mind of his attacker, 'I keep those that are unwanted out; I deal justice onto those that enter; I wander the woods and do this. You Tunnel rat; do not; so surely you cannot fathom how I work and why I work that way. And you say that I am the Fool, but you are the Fool to come in the first place; into a land where you are unwanted and unwelcome. I also know more of your lycan secrets than you can possibly imagine. For I have an ally that watches from above and you cannot rival him in any way. But this little skirmish has grown fruitless and I tire of it.'
Lightly running over to the pups; Fenrir picked up Cealla with his teeth and said to Xavier, 'Now I exact what was promised to me, Tormentor with the Green Hair; you will see this one in 6 days. Look for my coming then, and when I do return her; think better of me.' With that, the silver-grey behemoth turned tail and ran into the vastness of the Forbidden Forest with Cealla clamped in his jaws. This girl...his mother; she was the only thing that might redeem those of the Tunnels in his eyes, but he still harbored hatred toward Kage and now mistrust toward Xavier. All hopes for the survival of the Tunnel Lycans rode on this girl. If she failed....then those of the Tunnels would feel the now-aroused wrath of Fenrir.
And long remembered would be this madness if it was unleashed upon them. Within a matter of minutes; Fenris Fenrir disappeared into the foliage of the wood and beyond the sight of those that watched him.

Xavier watched in horror as silver and onyx mixed with crimson before his very eyes. Fenris and Kage duked it out in their Lycan forms, tearing at each other, bashing and slamming the opposer around. Xavier tried yelling at the two the whole time.
"NO! Kage, you fool! Stop fighting him! STOP IT! Fenris, he has no part in this, I swear! I didn't know he was nearby! Please! STOP FIGHTING!"
At one point, Xavier ran into the fight and attempted to wedge the two Lycans apart, but only got whipped by a stray limb and thrown backwards into a tree. Stars exploded before the Lycan's eyes and he continued to watch and scream at the two raging Lycans. Silently he whispered to the wind.
"Kage, you fool. You just sealed our fate. Diplomacy was working so well...but now Fenris will never trust me again. And now Cealla's life hangs in the balance between his primal instincts and his sliver of humanity. We'll be lucky to get her back alive."
Xavier struggled to his feet and watched as Fenris picked up Cealla and took her deep into the shadows with him. Tears slowly fell down Xavier's face. He had lost so much, so why did this have to happen now? He might have just lost another relative, another loved one. This time she was younger than him, his responsibility. Now he wasn't sure.
"Kage, I can't believe you. You let your anger and pride blind you, you IDIOT! You self-centered, egotistical, bloodlusting a**hole! Thanks to you we have no way of telling whether or not Cealla will be returned to us in ONE PIECE! I thought you cared for you daughters, and this is how you show your love to them? Sometimes the best decision is often the hardest to make, and you made the wrong one. Had we not provoked him, Fenris would have returned your daughters to us in one piece six days from now, and all I would have to do is stay out of the Forest. A small price to pay for something that no quantity of money in the world can buy once it has been lost. You may have just sealed your daughter's fate, as well as our own. I hope you're happy."
Xavier gave his brother the fiercest stare he could manage, then picked up Alissa in his arms and spoke to her quietly, his back turned to Kage.
"Come on, Alissa. It's not safe here, even with your father around."
Then Xavier let his feet lead him back to the relative peace of the Tunnels. The next six days would be some of the most stressful of his life.

"Diplomacy, huh?"
A hand grabbed Xavier by the back of his clothes, yanking him backwards so abruptly that he was dragged by his heels, but Kage didnt notice. He simply twisted his arm, slamming Xavier against the tree trunk.
"You self-absorbed idiot. You think this was about me? About MY ego and bloodlust?" Kage slapped Xavier's temple, a brisk, quick motion.
"This was not about me. This was about MY DAUGHTERS. THIS WAS ABOUT ME BEING THE FATHER THAT I HAVE SO FAR NEGLECTED TO BE." His face was now inches from Xavier's, his voice now raised enough to cause any remaining small animals to flee.
"THIS IS ABOUT MY DAUGHTERS, WHO WERE BEING USED AS BARGAINING CHIPS BY THE MAN TO WHOM I ENTRUSTED THEIR CARE. THIS IS ABOUT ME, DOING MY FATHERLY DUTY AND NOT WAITING AROUND, PRAYING FOR YOUR 'DIPLOMATIC SOLUTION'." Another slap, this time harder.
His voice lowered again, to a harsh, grating hiss, "Get it through your head. Diplomacy didnt work with Chailyn, I would hardly expect it to work now. And what would your 'diplomacy' have gotten us anyways? Six days of being at Fenris' mercy, that's what. Maybe he would keep his promise, maybe he wouldnt." Kage's grip on Xavier's clothes tightened.
"All I know is now he has my daughter because the man I called 'brother' was too caught up in his own delusion of 'diplomacy' to save her while I tried to do MY duty as a father and stop HIM." His voice was uneven now, as if Kage himself were teetering on the brink of emotion.
Finally, he simply released Xavier and turned away, fists clenched.

Even as she tried to stop it, tears spilled down her furry cheeks and stained the ground. She was going with Fenris- Xavier and Alissa were going home. To be a happy family, while she was carried off by the monster that she had created. To live or die; her future was uncertain. Pain weighed heavily in her heart as she ceased to fight and contented to just be still, as though awaiting a desprate fate that she could not escape. Off in the distance, she could hear as Xavier and her father began to fight, ignorant of the fact that it would tear them apart.
'And so it begins.' She sighed, using the last of her strength to send one final message. Going limp, she allowed herself to be carried off into the forest by her captor, uncertain if she would ever see her family or her home again.

As Kage yanked on the green-haired Lycan's clothing, Xavier dropped Alissa and spoke to her gently, even as Kage slammed him against the tree.
"Go home, Alissa. Your father obviously wants to talk to me."
Then Xavier stood there silently, absorbing Kage's beating. Slap! Slap! Two hits against him. The pain seared against his temple, and he was sure that his skin was red from the hits. He really couldn't have cared less. The emotion ran through Kage's blood like a raging river, and yet Xavier refused to show his own rage. He swallowed his pride and took the beating. As Kage finished screaming at him, Xavier straightened himself out and brushed off his clothing. He frowned at his brother, at the person he loved as one, even though his real family was long-since forgotten.
"Kage...what's happened to you? You can't even control yourself anymore. Where's the cool, collected Kage that I befriended so long ago? Where'd you put him, Kage? I hope you find him soon, because I don't like this one. Think about tonight, think about what would have happened if we had attacked, if we had lashed out and even ATTEMPTED to counter Fenris. I don't need to describe it to you, I'll let your imagination do the rest. I'm leaving now. I'm sure you'll see Alissa safely back to the Tunnels. Good evening, my brother."
As Kage stood there, fists shaking, Xavier slowly walked away, then seemed to melt into the moonlight as he changed forms, gracefully melting away his clothing and sprouting silver fur, then walking on all fours and completing the change. The orange-eyed Lycan looked back one more time, then went into a brisk run and headed off into the blackness.
OOC: I think I'll stop there. Feel free to post one more time.

What's happened to you?
That very question, posed so innocently, stopped Kage cold. What had happened to him indeed?
"What did happen...." He said listlessly, turning in a circle, as if somehow that might provide an answer.
I lost something. That's what.
Kage nodded to himself, affirming his silent reasoning. He continued, even though Xavier was long gone, as was his daughter.
"I lost my wife, and with that.... I lost a big part of my world. I wanted, NEEDED, to get that part back." Now he started pacing, continuing to ramble on to the unhearing trees.
"Thats why I disappeared. I wanted Amelia back, not just for myself, but for them. I wanted my daughters to have a mother. That's why I disappeared." He continued to pace, now in a very wide circle, arms making big, accenuating gestures.
"So I went back to Japan. I talked to my family... the members that would still talk to me, at least. I learned every damn bit of lore and magic that I could get my hands on, and in the end...." Here, he paused with an intake of breath, arms raised, as if holding an invisible orchestra to the point of absolute readiness.
"I couldn't do it. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't bring Amelia back from the dead. I guess that's where my rationality went, because when I was rational, I was able to succeed. Now I come back, a failure..."
He paused again, this time to clear his throat and wipe away the tears welling in his eyes, "Thats why I didnt come directly back. What man wants to face his children, a failure?" He said softly, arms now hanging limply at his sides.
"What 'man' could?" He whispered, now walking unevenly away, heading back towards the Tunnels.

And there it was. The smallest of battles she had seen in a very long time, hardly anything to rival another being. Instead of replying to the green-haired Lycan, Lothani just began to fiddle with her finger-nails in the bark of the tree. Stronger than steel, and holding some of it in each folicle of bone that structured her body.
Whipping her tail side to side, the Demoness grew entirely bored with the situation. A few little Lycans with a squabble. Pssh. Rolling onto her back as the larger Lycan strolled deeper into the trees with his catch, she nodded toward him in recognition, now resting flat along the branch with the long black tail dangling over the edge playfully.
Placing it between her legs, it launched the Demoness onto her shoulders with her head tucked under, and then pushed her higher up into the dead tree and out of sight. She'd have to go and find something else to satisfy her fidgets, which was a rare thing she had to do.

Alissa hadn't gone, as she had been told, but had stayed, watching with wide eyes as the man took Cealla away, and her Father arrived on the scene. The fight carried out, and Alissa took silent steps backwards as each shouted word echoed through the forest. The Lycan pup was surprised no one else had heard it and come to find out what all the fuss was about.
However once again, she was ordered home. Were they really just going to stand by and let this man do goodness knew what to her sister? 'Lissa was only young, but the loss of her mother had taken its toll on her, and there was no way she was going to lose the one she was closest to. Not if she could help it.
Therefore, while both her Father and Grandfather were distracted in their own quarrel, Alissa sprinted across the clearing and followed the path the huge wolf had taken only moments before. His scent was still fresh so it wouldn't be too difficult to follow him, or so she hoped.
She had to find Cealla, and fast.
