Aidana raised an eyebrow and Sylph's forwardness. She just wanted to jump right into things! Well it made it a lot easier for Aidana. She smiled gleefully. This was her favorite part of flying. She held up one finger to Sylph, telling her to wait a moment. Aidana flew down to the ground and dismounted on her broom. She hunted around for a few seconds and found a few sticks. She took out her wand and transfigured them into miniature balls. Aidana pocketed them and flew up again to Sylph.
" Okay Sylph! Now it's time to see how good you are steering your broom! This does require reflexes too. Fly about two hundred feet away from me and I'll thrwo these balls at you. The object of this excersize is to see if you can catch them before the hit the ground. Some may be high, and some may be low. I think you can do this! Can't you?"

Flicking her hair out of her eyes with sharp movement of her head, Sylph shrugged and nodded, a more determined expression crossing her face. Ducking her shoulders, she flew off down the other end of the pitch before turning to face her instructor once more. She knew her reactions were good enough, but she wasn't so sure about her flying skills. She was pretty good for a first-timer, but this would require speed, skill, reactions and, more importantly, practice. She steeled herself, gritting her jaw.
"Ready," she called loudly, her eyes narrowed in concentration.

" Okay!" she called out to Sylph, " The first ones are going to be pretty easy. Then I'll try to make it a bit harder for you!" She threw one ball high into the air, not far from where Sylph hovered. Sylph caught that with ease.
This girl has natural ability. She could go far... Aidana kept throwing easy balls to Sylph, which she caught. Sylph had amazing reflexes. Perfect for Quidditch. If she tried out, Aidana knew that she could probably get a spot on the team. Her speed was good too, though she would need a few pointers during racing.
" Okay Sylph! That was great. I'm going to make it a littl harder for you!" Aidana yelled. She grinned wickedly. Time to see exactly how good Sylph was. She had managed to impress Aidana, so far, but would Sylph be up to this challange? Aidana took the ball and thew it hard downwards. As soon as Sylph flew off in that direction, she took the other balls and thew them hard in various directions at different speeds. She smiled and watched Sylph deal with this new problem of flying. How to determine which way to go first...

OOC: Oi, watch it there with the god-Rp-ing there missy! Oh well, never mind... not really important, I would have caught the easy ones anyway!
IC: At the first 'hard' ball, Sylph went into her first ever dive. It was a little scary, and she thought she was going to plough straight into the turf, but, to her extreme delight, she caught the ball in her right hand and managed to pull up at the last second with her left. Throwing the ball back to Aidana, she zoomed off in pursuit of the others, zooming upwards and then down, left and right, up and down the entire length of the pitch. She was surprised to find how much effort flying was, her legs were beginning to ache from gripping so hard, she tried to relax and she flew to catch her ninth ball, but it meant the broom slowed and she missed it.
So you have to keep concentrating then she thought.
When Aidana had run out of projectiles, Sylph had manged to catch all but two of them, leaving her feeling pretty good about her first practice.
Flying back to the turf Sylph touched down rather hard, climbed off her broom and wiped her forehead.
"So what d'ya think?" she asked the red-haired girl. "Good enough for the team?"

Aidana caught the first ball and transfigured it back into a stick. She smiled with delight as Sylph zoomed off catching which ones she could and throwing them back at her. Sylph had good judgement, she caught the good balls and left the ones she knew she could never catch. At the end Sylph touched down on the ground without Aidana's prompting. Aidana flew down towards Sylph. She grinned, noting that Sylph had discovered that flying was not a breeze. ( OOC: *laughs weakly* Get it? Flying? Breeae?Ha ha? Okay I'll stop now.) She dismounted her broom without breaking a sweat, a contrast to Sylph's heavy breathing.
" That was great Sylph. I don't know anyone who could do that on one of their first times in flight. You could definately get a spot on the team. I just need to say, you did a great job with that last excersize! That is the hardest part about flying, judgement. You need to decide for yourself what to go after, and what to let go. I think you realized that you can't catch everything, and somethings aren't worth catching. Good job!" Aidana said, beaming at Sylph.
OOC: Good RP-ing? *laughs* Thanks for the compliment, but I couldn't RP for chocolate! You did the good RP-ing and the long posts!

OOC: not GOOD RPing (tho it was), GOD RPing, it's where another person RPs someone else doing something i.e. playing god with them- it's not strictly allowed, but in this case I didn't mind.
IC: Sylph smiled weakly. She felt slightly tired now, and could do with putting her feet up.
"Thanks for the compliment," she replied. "But do you mind if we call it a day? We can practise again another time, I could do with a swift drink or two."

OOC: Oh, sorry about that. Can you tell I'm a newbie? I didn't know what god-RPing was. Er...yeah.
Aidana smiled. Sylph was visibly tired, and definately needed to rest. The sun was beginning to set, and gave the Pitch a reddish glow.
" Yeah, you go ahead back to the Tower. I'll join you later. I have a few things I need to take care of," she said gesturing toward Aylen. She had come out here to race him, and after hours of practicing with Sylph, she had never gotten the chance. She nodded at Sylph, and walked over to Aylen.
" So little brother, what do you say to a race? I really didn't work much while training Sylph. A night race would be just what I need."

OOC: Right heeeeeeeeere! >>U
BIC:
Makira spaced out as she watched Aidana and Sylph. She shook her head and turned to Aylen. "Huh? Sorry: I was spacing." she sad apologetically.

(ooc: I thought you had been sucked into a black hole or something! ;D )
"I said," Aylen restated. "It might have to do with the way you grip it. If your grips aren't right, the broom might misunderstand where you want it to go."
"And Aidana, would you live if you don't race a couple minutes more? I'm trying to sort out Makira's broom."

Aidana hadn't seen Makira spacing out, and was put back in her place when she came back. She really hadn't wanted to inturrupt them with Makira's flying lesson. Her cheeks turned slightly pink as Aylen reproved her.
" I don't know Aylen," she said trying to turn the mood. " What would Mother say if she found out you killed me? But I'll wait."
Aidana dropped the broom she was holding and flopped down on the grass right there. She spread out her robes around herself and lay back, closing her eyes.
