I have to admit, I'm really confused here... What is going on with this no wand magic stuff? I was following some posts, like Hidden Behind The Falls (The Forbidden Forest), Building the Snowstorm (Astronomy Tower), and A Meeting (Lake) to name a few.
In all of those threads, magic is performed without wands or spells, or at least talked about... I don't know, maybe this seems perfectly natural to most people, but isn't this site loosely based on the Harry Potter world? (Yes, I am aware that loosely means there is some leeway, but how much is some?)
I can understand the demons having such a power, but ordinary students, even the older ones?
Anyway, if someone could try to explain that to me, I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't know, Adam. Technically, most all forms of Magic are used with a wand. There is only one exception. Elemental Magic. You STILL have to use a spell for it, but it comes from nature itself, not from the wand or you. So...if those people were using elemental magic, that's one thing. If those people were using things like 'lumos' or 'diffindo', they still need wands.

exaclty...for example Talon here is a wind mage... he doesnt need a wand to control wind... this though is a different type of elemental magic than i use because the magic i use covers the whole premise...and i have a logical explanation for all of it...so its not like im going way off course...if you read part of the thread in the astronomy tower i explain some of it...ive also taught it to various people over the years ALSO if you read carefully the first book by JK Rowling she talks about Harry using magic and never knowing what the hell he was doing and it got him into trouble a lot...id like to actually explore that theory but i never got the time yeah i kinda enjoy discovering new spin offs of magic based on the book of course that could be possible...none of it is out of sink from anything that could be possibly found in the book...its actually kind of fun to tell the truth thats why i use so many different kinds of magics with such power...its like talon here is a specialist on the history of HF/MH...well i like to consider this gaining of knowledge to benifit my characters powers

Right... and how exactly does one gain control of an element / all of the elements like you say you do? (correct me if I misinterpreted your post)
just a question... out of sink? Do you mean sync?

Talon learned it in a sort of arcane way. You normally should have an experienced mentor who can teach you this. Talon's mentor was Meriel Magdaline. After you've learned the first few steps, you should take it into your own hands and put a few plots in play where your character can use this element.
Also, if you learn more than one element you can combine them.
Fire + Wind = Lightning Wind + Water = Ice Fire + Earth = Magma Earth + Water = Nature
Fire and Water and Wind and Earth can not combine, because a person can not control two of the opposite elements.

The study of elemental magic is long and confusing, so if you want to take it up, I recommend finding someone who is an Elemental Mage and getting them to help you.

That would be cool. I've been pretty bored so, taking up a study like that would be time consuming and helpful.

I could be mistaken, but wouldn't the only Elemental Mage on the site be Talon? XD

Agiel's not on the site anyhow. He only showed up for a couple days to be all OOC and funny. Plus he's hardly around at all anyway, I haven't seen him on MSN for the past three months.

Oh. Consider myself corrected, as it should be. That could lead to a pretty neat plot. Elemental training and that. I mean, you could even have a Star Wars-esqe sort of thing going on. Using your powers for evil, not good. </random musing>

Seems from the books that people just have the magical power in general and the wand is more of a tool for focusing their power to do exactly as they want
