Sylph nodded. She had noticed that, and Aidana was right - it was odd.
"There's two possibilities," she said, her voice tired but steady. "One; either Ark is fine in the first place, and he was just up here either to be on the safe side, or, more likely, because he heard us up here." Sylph paused. Did she really not trust him that much? Why did she think it was more likely that he was up here merely to spy on them all? She sighed and continued.
"Two; the power he gets when he's dark heals him, or stops him feeling or minding the pain so much. Or something else we haven't thought of," she finished wryly. "I'll look it up in the library at some point, see what powers hate gives you. Have you noticed anything like that?"
Sylph paused again, mildly surprised at her own words. Her gift rearing its head again, no doubt. Had Aidana suffered the same attack as Ark? How could she? Wouldn't she be dark like him if she had? Sylph's dark eyebrows knitted together in a puzzled and inquisitve frown, silently asking those questions of her friend.

But, Ark hadn't left them....or at least, His presence wasn't gone. For his Black owl, Twilight, was in the rafters, listening to every word they said. He was there to spy on them on Ark's instrustions and to relay what he heard back to him. Ruffling his feathers, Twi scooted farther into the darkness of the rafters, blending in nearly seemlessly.

Something gray swooped into the infirmary. It was Mercury again. He was disgusted that the girl did not appreciate his gift, but he hadn’t been able to catch another thing this evening. The bird was sufficiently hungry that he came back. He reasoned that if she didn’t want it, he would take it back. He landed on the nightstand and hopped over to the violet-haired girl to claim his rat. He then perched back on her nightstand, making loud crunching noises with relish.

Aidana hears Sylph's question, and pondered. Yes, she had been given the powers of hate, though not totally. It had affected her emotionally, but she really couldn't tap into that power unless she was in complete emotional stress. And even then, Aidana didn't know if she would still be good. She turned back to Sylph.
" Well actually, it has given me the ability to heal more quickly. I got out of the Wing before Ark did, which is why I was worried. The darkness took him fully. It just doesn't make sense!"

Sylph nodded at her friend and sighed. So little made sense of late. But no doubt everything would be made uncomfortably clear before too much time passed, and everyone would long for the days when they hadn't known what was happening. Ignorance, whilst in Sylph's opinion a terrible sin, was bliss. It couldn't be denied. She flopped her head on the pillows a little, trying to get comfortable. It didn't work, but she knew that movement would not be the best idea right now, and that a night in the hospital wing would be the best thing for her. At least if she had any more attacks of foresight she was in stumbling distance of the painkillers. Sighing again she looked to Aidana.
"Go and tell Aylen what's going on," she told her tiredly. "You don't need to stay here, I'll be fine now. I'm just going to sleep here in case I do need to see the nurse. I'll talk to you later about all this."
Sylph was tired, but more than that, she couldn't help remembering Teagan's words outside the head's office. What if somebody was listening? She closed her eyes, ready for sleep.

OOC: Sorry for the shortness!
Aidana looked at Sylph and nodded. She would be safe here at the moment. She was sure one of the nurses would come by eventually. There still was this feeling of being watched in the air though. An uneasy feeling which never went away. Aidana shrugged it off. With what was happening lately, that would be pretty normal. She looked back at Sylph one more time.
" I'll go tell him. He needs to know now," she said. Aidana turned and exited the Hospital Wing.

With a loud squak<sp?> Twilight swooped down and, fluttering next to Mercury and grabbing a piece of rat, took off out the windows.

Mercury squawked in surprise as some bird flew from the rafters and swiped some of his dinner. He swooped after him, calling out indignantly and mad loud grumbling noises when he collided into things outside. He wasn't a night bird and couldn't see much, but it didn't stop him from trying to get after Twilight.

Twi called out mockingly to him as he gracefully glided between objects and towers before stopping dead and quickly swallowing his prize with relish.

Sylph cracked open a bleary eye. She wanted to sleep, but there were noises disturbing her. One was obviously Mercury, but the other... it sounded like an owl. What was an owl doing in the hospital? She sat up slowly, making sure that she didn't make herself dizzy.
"Bloody birds..."
Carefully she got up and went to the window, and peered out into the inky night. There was an owl out there, and Mercury was chasing it. Odd... She sighed and leant gently against the window frame, feeling relaxed now that she was alone. She pushed open the window a little more and let a cool breeze play on her face, making her head feel a little better, her neck a little less stiff, and sighed. Something was missing, there was an empty space deep somewhere in her chest, but she didn't know what it could be. The loss of a friend perhaps... no. Something deeper, bigger...
She closed the window to stop the birds returning and disturbing her, went to the bed and prompty fell into a deep and thankfully dreamless sleep.
