Sylph watched calmly, even emotionlessly as a single tear rolled down Ark's face, as he spoke to her, and as he changed. She knew it was too late for him to lie to her; it may have been a dream, but she knew the truth in her visions when she saw them. She knew what was happening. Glancing over at Aidana she sensed that the red-haired girl also knew, though perhaps not all of it, but then, neither did Sylph, only what her vision had showed her. Only Aylen seemed uninformed.
She looked at Ark sadly, but sure in what she had done, he knew that she knew, and that, in the long run, would be a good thing.
I shall not tell anyone that does not already know, she thought to him, knowing that he could hear at least some of what she was thinking; if not, he could certainly read her expression. I will not endanger your life, nor Makira's love.
But if it came down to it, if it meant Ark or freedom from the darkness she had seen being planned, Sylph herself would be the one to stop him. Yet she made no move as she watched Ark transform.

(ooc: I already knew Ark was evil. Aylen just doesn’t. ) It seemed that some invisible force was putting a damper on their spirits. First, only gently applying pressure, then suddenly, before anyone realized it, everyone had a shadow cast over his or her face. Things were so complicated all of a sudden. He watched as Sylph swallowed the tablets whole. She looked so much better in only a few seconds that it was hard to believe she had a splitting headache before. "Are you with Danawi? Does he mean to overthrow the school?" Sylph asked. "It's alright, I know...”<br>Aylen jumped up, his chair clattering loudly on the floor. “You-you’re...” He looked around the room as Ark denied it. He saw right through. If Sylph had gotten a major headache over a dream, then centaurs would save students in the Forbidden Forest. Aidana’s expression showed that she already knew also. Aylen regained some of his composure. “I see,” he said quietly with icy tones slipping through. “Ark’s lying because I’m here. I don’t know a thing. All of you know except me.” He sighed in frustration. “I’ll leave so you can keep your secrets. I don’t care.” He walked away, slamming the hospital doors as he went. His chair lay on its side, unmoving.

Sylph bit her lip as Aylen made his outburst. It was quite strange to see him so angry; normally Aylen was amusing when he shouted, but this... this was upsetting. She hadn't meant to keep in the dark, she had been about to tell him when Aidana and Ark had turned up. And she had been right when she had asked him if there were any problems between him and his sister - there was definite tension there, and Sylph thought she knew why. Brothers were protective; Sylph knew, she had one, and even if he was younger than her, he hated not being able to help her. Aylen was the same. And he hated being left out.
She called his name, and made as if to go after him, but as she tried to move a wave of dizziness hit her and she was forced to lay back down again, holding her head to steady herself. She shot a meaningful glance at Aidana that clearly said you'll need to talk to him you know, and then fell back down, her eyes half closed, half warily eying Ark to see what he would do next.

OOC: Sorry to burst your bubble Ark, but Aidana knows. She got her memory back in the thread at the Head's Quarters.
Aidana calmly watched Ark and Sylph communicate silently. She could only guess what they were saying, but she had a shrewd idea. Of course then there was this shadow that rested around the room. A shadow that she had only felt once before, and that was with Danawi's followers. Aidana felt tears brimming her eyes as she relived the moment that Ark had gone over to the dark side. (OOC: A bit of Star Wars there for you fans! ;D It came out today!) Her heart started beating furiously again as she heard Aylen's outburst. She knew that it was mostly her fault that she hadn't been telling him what was going on. It was just, he was so protective and she knew that he wouldn't even let her out of the common room if he knew what she was planning. She saw him stalk out the doors and quickly got up.
" Aylen!" she yelled after him. She ran towards the door, but then heard a sound behind her. She turned to see Sylph under a new wave of dizziness. Aidana rushed to her friend, who needed immediate help. She reassuringly embraced her friend, and caught a look from her. Aidana bit her lip. She knew Sylph wanted her to talk to Aylen. Then Sylph fell down again. Aidana slowly placed her back on the pillow and stood up again.
" I will Sylph...I need to..." she whispered. Then Aidana turned to Ark. There was a great sadness in her eyes as she walked to him. Only now could she notice subtle changes in him. His hair was darker, and his eyes redder. Tears sprang up in her eyes from the guiltiness that she hadn't saved him. She blamed herself for his dark side. What good what she if she couldn't even save a friend. Aidana reached Ark and put her hand on his shoulder. She blinked away the tears.
" I'm sorry," she whispered to him sadly. " I tried...I really did..."

Ark fought the Darkness one last time and said "Tell him...not to...hate me...Tell him....everything." he grunted in effort to hold off the Darkness. Then it cosumed him and he brushed off Aidana's hand. "You better go check on you brother" he said coldly, but there seemed to be a slightly twikle of sadness in his eyes. But it was gone and he was back in control, the Light had dispappeared.

Now that's interesting, Sylph thought blandly as Ark's darkness took him over. The change was intriguing to watch, and she wondered what kind of magic it was that could do this to a person. Was there a spell that could incite hatred to such a degree that it took over a person's mind? It seemed so, but Sylph knew not of any students who would be taught the spell in school, well, not at MH at any rate. Maybe at Durmstrang or one of the darker schools, but not here. The power had to have come from Danawi.
Sylph stomach lurched uncomfortably as she thought the name. Danawi... What could a man gain from destroying the school? What could anyone gain, unless it be a sick sense of sadistic satisfaction? ((whoa, check the alliteration on that one!)) Of course, if Danawi was indeed a man. Sylph got the feeling in her dream that he was human, at least in part, but his aura was so dark, so powerful...
She shook her head, causing a brief spasm of pain that she ignored as best she could, struggling into a sitting position, propped up against the pillows. She knew that Aidana should go talk to Aylen as soon as possible, but she didn't like the thought of being alone with Ark, now that he knew that she knew his secret. With the darkness upon him, he might do something rash, and Sylph was in no fit position to defend herself. If only one of the nurses would turn up...

Aidana looked into Ark's eyes with great emotion. She knew that these were their last moments of friendship, and soon they wouldn't even acknowledge eachother. She Aidana's tears spilled out as she heard his last request. She nodded, knowing that she would need to fulfill this to Ark, as a symbol of their friendship. Then she looked up at him again, and his eyes were like ice. When he brushed off her hand, it dropped like a dead weight. Aidana was shocked as his transformation finally completed. Her knees gave out and she fell to the floor by his bed, shaking. Aidana! Get a hold of yourself. You knew that this was going to happen! Yes, she knew it was going to happen, but it didn't take the pain away. She had completely lost one of her first friends at Magic Horizons. It was ironic though. Their friendship had formed being attacked in the Forest, and it had ended being attacked in the Forest. Still shaking, Aidana realized that she could do nothing more to help Ark. The only thing she could do was take down Danawi, and she knew she wasn't capable of that. Aidana looked up to see Sylph watching in fascination. Then she remembered her promise to both Sylph and Ark. She wanted to go tell Aylen everything, but she wouldn't leave Sylph alone with the newly transformed Ark. Right now, he seemed cold and she didn't know if he would to something to both of them. Aidana slowly reached into her dressing robe and loosely took hold of her wand, just in case.

A loud tapping disrupted the awkward silence. Tatp, tatp. The hawk tapped furiously at the window. He squawked grouchily. What did they think he was? A hummingbird? Merlins weren’t made for hovering and his wings were getting sore, feathers take it! Open the stupid window already!

Sylph thought her headache was getting worse again. Yes, there it was, the light pounding in her ears. Or was it? Opening her eyes a little wider she looked in the direction of the actual sound. It was coming from outside the window. She struggled up on her elbows so she could see if she squinted a little - she never had had the best eyesight, but at least her hearing was second to none. It was Aylen's Merlin, Mercury. Being too dizzy to actually get up and open the window for him herself, she pulled out her willow and dragon heartstring wand and flicked it in the direction of the glass, letting the window swing forward on its hinge.
She wondered what Ayeln could possibly have to say to them via letter.

Mercury drew back, about to give the cursed window one last blow, when it sprang open. Caught off guard, the startled bird crash-landed on the floor and skidded to a stop at Ark’s feet. He blinked, shook himself, and took flight again, looking for a certain redhead. When he couldn’t find this redhead, he decided that the girl would do just as well and dropped something into her hands. However, it wasn’t a letter. In fact, it wasn’t anything remotely close to parchment at all. It was...a rather large dead rat.
Mercury perched on a nightstand, preening his feathers. He turned his raptor’s gaze to each of them, as if to say: Aren’t you proud of me?

OOC: *slaps Aylen* Stupid boy! I thought you had something important to say! *exasperated growl* Oh wait, is this a Brian from Family Guy thing ("that was a gift, dammit, a gift!")?
IC: Sylph gave a small snort of laughter and fell back onto the pillows shaking silently. Was that it? Why on earth did Mercury feel the need to gift them with a dead rat of all things? Aylen wasn't even here.
"You'd better get rid of that before Kasey or Carrie come in," she said wryly, closing her eyes and shaking her head slightly in disbelief. "They won't like vermin in their hospital." Opening them again she looked up at Mercury.
"Aylen's not here," she told him. "Try the tower. I'm sure he'd appriciate it more."

(ooc: *is slapped* I deserved that. Sorry guys...I just couldn't resist. ;D ;D ;D )
Mercury grumbled slightly as Sylph reprimanded him. That was his best kill yet! Mercury flapped his wings and flew out the window in a right snit, leaving the rat where it was.

Ark laughed. A cold laugh but a laugh nonetheless. "I think he likes you." he said sarcasticly. He then turned his heel and walked out of the Wing, gesturing back at them. "Later."
OOC: I'm leaving but, like Aylen, something will becoming soon.

Sylph visibly relaxed when the new, dark Ark left the wing. While she had seemed calm and rational, his change had actually made her somewhat nervous, being, as she was, unable to defend herself. The dead rat, however, remained. Sylph wrinkled her nose.
"What's the point in a hunting bird catching something and then not eating it?" she mused out loud, wondering vaguely if she could transfigure the rodent into something more appealing without straining herself. She decided against it. Her mental state was probably not best suited to complex magic at this time.
"Yo can go now if you want to," she told Aidana, sighing slightly as she did so. She was actually feeling almost human again now, though she would wait here until a nurse could check her out, just to be safe.

Aidana was so engrossed with Ark, that she paid little attention to what else was happening. She knew that if she didn't keep an eye on him, he would do somehing bad. Her head turned and slowly followed him as he walked out of the Hospital Wing. Even the way he walked had changed. He was more arrogant now, cold and power-hungry. Aidana slowly stood up, and realized something. Ark had claimed to be healing from his injuries, yet now he had walked off as if nothing was wrong. Aidana was absorbed with this thought, that she didn't hear Sylph at first. Aidana turned to the bedridden girl.
" Sylph," she said not paying attention to the girl's other words.
" Don't you think that it's odd that Ark just happened to be here when we were discussing what you saw? He claimed to be hurt, and he was here to heal. But he just stood up and walked off, like he was healthy. His injuries disappeared and he didn't even seem the least bit tired. It's not coincidental Sylph," Aidana said directly to Sylph.
