Mikayla's wavy brown hair flowed behind her as she skidded down the hall, veering to the left, to the right, a jog down a squeezed corrider, and finally, breathless, skulked into the room just as the teacher began talking for what Mika figured was the second time. She was new and had needed to pick up the Slytherin uniform and, being green as grass about the place, found she slipped through disappearing steps and tickled doors just as Brent had said. She hoped the teacher wouldn't care and didn't bother looking up to see the possible anger or disappointment, instead listening carefully to the wns of the assignment. Hearing they needed a partner, Mikayla blanched and walked slowly to the teachers desk. "Um, excuse me, Professor, but I'm new here and I'm so sorry I'm late, but I'd like to please do the assignment alone." She glanced up, blue eyes afire with a passion that did not show in her submissive, quiet form, then down before she could really see a reaction, quietly took hold of a pouch, and sat down to catch her breath once more.
Emptying the pouch on the desk, Mika took hold of a screwdriver and carefully took our all the tiny screws holding the watch together. Luckily, having lived all her life observing Muggles, Mika had a good idea of what to do. She took out a round object, looking at it with interest before placing it gingerly on her desk. Next she took out the time changer on the side, setting it beside the round thing. The rest was set apart by what looked like a tiny electrical disk, so she removed the disk, then removed the background of the watch, taking with it the two pointers. Having removed it all, Mika took her parchment and quill and began writing.

From taking apart the muggle watch, this is what I suppose it is made of:
-A stick changer seems to be a silver stick that changes the time as it is moved. Although it looks silver, it is lighter than true silver, and thus is fake.
-A round object powers the watch, perhaps it has an electrical pulse. It seems to be made of a metal of some kind, something to carry electricity from around or inside of it.
-A tiny disk is what connects the power to the front so that the pointers move. It is mostly cardboard, but parts of it are metal to carry the current of electricity.
-The background is a paper circle with all the numbers of time written on it, so the Muggle wearing the watch can see the time.
-Two pointers point out the time to Muggles, one seeming to show the hour, the other the minute, although which is which is questionable. As the longer of the two moves more, it can be assumed that it is the minute pointer. The pointers, by weight and size, are also fake silver.
Mikayla sighed, read and reread her paper then slowly set down her quill and stood, walking at a normal speed to the front of the room. She turned the paper in without a word, walking back to her desk and sitting down, breath coming forth in another sigh. Suddenly, comfortable once more, sound and sense rushed back to Mikayla. The room smelled of humans to her sensitive nose, the watch parts before her stank of age. The sound of metal on metal screeched in Mika's ears, zinging through her brain with a painful intensity. Behind that noise was the sound of breathing, bodies moving, shoes sliding, and quills moving frantically across parchment. Mikayla shook her head, brown locks flowing over her shoulders as she let her aching head sink into her waiting arms on her desk. She had a feeling it was going to be a long day.
