Professor Eien Chambers walked into his room on the top of North Tower and sighed. It'd be a long walk from the Teacher's Lounge. He whipped out his wand and, pointing towards the walls, muttered "Astrum". Star wallpaper appeared and decorated the whole room, making it feel as if you were in space. But the fun part was adding actual constellations. It would feel as if you just stepped into a star cluster after you walked into the doors. He whipped up several dozen desks and a large one, which he had can-can to the front of the room. "Perfect." he sighed. He then pointed to the black board that appeared out of nowhere, and wrote in shining letters, Professor Eien Chambers. He then sat down and waited for students to file in.

Another lesson, another new teacher.
Sylph had yet to do an actual Astrology/Astronomy ((yo, dude, which is it??)) lesson, but had been to the tower before now, just to stare up at the beautiful sky. Now, however, she would have to put her stargazing to a purpose. Maybe she could use her Sight here... maybe. If the sky was clear and her mind in the correct state, which she had yet to learn to master.
Climbing the long steps to the top of the tower, lugging her telescope and maps behind her, Sylph was dissappointed once more to find that she was the first to arrive. Oh how she hated that. It went against her nature - acting like a teacher's pet like this. Maybe she should have been put in Ravenclaw after all - her whole family had believed she would have. Still, the muggle O'Dell blood that ran in her veins made the hat choose Gryffindor, and Sylph had been happy with that.
The wallpaper - if that's what it was - was, well, cool. She took a couple of steps in wonder, enjoying the astounding feeling of walking on air through the constellations and nebulae and dust clouds that went on for light years. Sensing the teacher's gaze on the back of her neck, however, Sylph ducked her head, brushing a stray lock of violet hair from her face, and choose a desk midway to the back away from the front desk.
No way was she sitting at the front.

Yawning as she lugged her supplies for her class behind her Starlit frowned slightly. She didn't mind classes, but hoped that this one wouldn't leave her totally confused like some did. Charms she could do, but some things she just didn't get. Astrology was a new class to her and she hoped it was one of the classes that she did okay in. Oh well I like the stars and stuff like that a ton so that may help out! The staircase always seemed like it would go on forever. Stopping short when she walked through the door Star gazed around the room. For as long as she could remember Starlit had loved the night sky.
It was now that she noticed that other people were in the room. Smiling shyly she sat at a desk in the third to the back row of the classroom and sat there daydreaming and waiting for the other students in the class to arrive.

Zee was actually looking forward to this particular class. Anything that involved stars was considered a worthwhile time-killer in her book. As she steadily trudged up the stairs, lugging her bag, and a small, powerful telescope (one she'd saved up money to get for months), she wondered who the teacher would be. Her question was answered as she entered the room. 'Professor Eien Chambers' she read. 'How the heck do you pronounce that first name?' She stopped wondering as the wallpaper caught her eye. "Oh man, you have to teach me how to do that!" she said, enthused. Zee beamed at Prof. Chambers, then headed for a seat at the front of the class. She winked at both of the other students amiably as she passed them.

Persephone walked up the stairs. She smiled to herself as she thought of the astrology class. She loved the stars and anything to do with them, and she was sure that she would do well in the class. Finally, she reached the class room. She made her way to the back of the room and sat in awe. It was like a dream come true. It felt like she was in space, surrounded by the stars and planets. This seems like fun! Her silver blonde hair danced in front of her face and she pulled it quickly back into a long pony tail. She took out her books and quill and got ready for the class.

Why oh why had Hayzie chosen to take Astronomy? Maybe it was because Charms was the only subject she had really wanted to do, and the rest of the form was filled in randomly. Either way, the only good thing about that day's lesson was the fact that they had a new teacher. This was definitely becoming something of a trend... but a very interesting one. New teachers were always good fun.
Doing up her red and gold school tie, and tying her shoelaces, the blonde girl's eyes twinkled as she tried to think up some trick to play. It was likely the Professor had already heard of her charming nature in one class, and her lateness to another. This class required something... a little different. This time, her fellow classmates would be safe. It was the teacher who had the right to be worried.
Earlier on that morning, before everyone else had even stirred, Hayzie had been up to the classroom and done a little... decorating of her own. Namely a stamp on the chair which would imprint the words 'Kick Me' into the Professors trousers when he stood up from the chair. Invisable ink worked wonders. Invisable ink which didn't dry was even better.
How she thanked the Lord for Zonkos.
But when she walked into the room that morning, her uniform was as neat as it had been in Charms, and her hair cascaded down to her shoulders. Green eyes were keen and looking as though the person who owned them was ready to learn.
All that Hayzie was ready to learn was just how far this one teacher could be pushed. A few pranks in the first class would help.
Grinning, the blonde sat down in the back row of the room, hoping that no one moved her, and that none of her classmates would get in the way. Innocently taking out some parchment, textbook, wand, quill and sugarquill, Hayz folded her arms casually on to the table and waited for class to begin.

This was going to be fun.
Kelcia started walking, more like running, up the stairs. A new teacher would be more than welcome now. New things interested her, the freshness of it, the hidden things, people trying to be something they're not and because of that being nervous. It was going to be simple to break this guy. A smirk comes to her mouth as she thinks of all the ways to make this guy's life hell, in perspective that is.
She reaches up at the top in the room constellations surrounding her as she tries her best not to show her amazement. With the stars out of her head she goes to grab a seat in the back making herself comfortable sliding down a bit in it.

[glow=purple,2,300]If I plan on learning anything, I'll need to know about the stars first. Dovie thought to herself as she reached the top of the winding staricase she had ascended many times over. She reached out to the doorknob, turned it, and stepped into a wonderful room of stars. It's either an illusion charm, paint, or some really nifty wallpaper. Or I'm just going insane, either way... Dovie smiled to herslef as she moved to a desk towards the center of the room and took a seat. This would give her a great vantage point for seeing anything to be pointed out on the walls. She turned to look at the students and recognized only two or three. One, of course, was Sylph. The other was Hayzie, the Gryffindor Prefect and well-known prankster. God I would love to team up with her someday... Dovie thought as a smirk spread across her olive features. She quickly brushed her hair back and out of her face, placing it in a single copper comb in the back to keep it out of the way. Dovie wore her best turquoise jewelry for this particular class, it helped her concentrate and gather information into a better summary. Dovie gave a small smile and wave to Sylph, a slight smirk towards the direction of the Prefect, and turned towards the front of the room. Professor Eien Chambers..pronounced... Is it like...Ian, Sylph..? she thought over. I had a friend with that name once, and he pronounced it like Ian, so...Eien..? Dovie was sure that was how the name was pronounced, though she knew there wouldn't be any use of knowing the Professor's first name since it would never be used. Well, at least not from the students it wouldn't. Dovie scanned the room, placed her lightweigth bag on the back of her chair, folded her hands, and waited.[/glow]

Alright, Dove? Sylph thought back, smiling a little at her friend. Yeah, Ian I think, doesn't really matter though, we're only gonna be callin' him 'professor'. Still, he's got a way with his decor!
In glancing over at Dovie, Sylph had noticed another familiar face. Hayzie. Sylph looked at he curiously. What had she planned this time?

[glow=purple,2,300]He sure does, doesn't he? I love it to pieces... Hey, I wonder, since this is a class about stars...Would we be able to write on black paper in gel pens? Dovie sent over, a slight bit of stifled laughter following. What do ya think she's up to? You know she has to have something planned.. Dovie smiled. Should make class interesting! I just hope the teacher's not a tight-up and gets a kick out of it too, you know?[/glow]

Lumiere walked into the classroom, dull as ever. She gripped her backpack and went to sit by Dovie.
Her uniform was in the landry so she wore a long white scoop neck t-shirt and kaki shorts with a turquois studded belt. Her hair was down, which was a little unusual for her but she didnt feel like putting it up.
On her way to the empty seat behind Dovie she stopped at the yeachers desk. She bowed and her hair went forward. She said, Exuse my absense of uniform." She leand back up at stared at him with a blank expression. Lumiere went to her seat.
"Good morning Miss Dovie." SHe said with a hint of joy.

OOC: ok first off it is Astrology- the study of the planets in the prediction of the future and their effects on everyday life, Astronomy is the study of the planets and the stars, for simple ( muggle) reasons
Hayzie, we all know how you are, just don't land any teacher in the HW and your fine

OOC: Aw, Miss Hayzie, you know we love you regardless!! How can anyone NOT love you? They'd have to be insane!!! bic: [glow=purple,2,300]"Lumi!" Dovie half-squealed and jumped up to hug her best friend. "How've you been? I didn't know you had this class too!" Dovie asked in a high-pitched, excited voice and gave a BIG smile to her friend. ...Oh god, disregard that girlyness, Sylph...forget that ever happened, heh! Dovie blushed; she was usually friendly, sure, but not that friendly, and she was never girly-ish! Okay, sure she worse skirts, but that was a different thing entirely! "Cool, you're sitting next to me? Okay, I won't talk in class, I hope..er, promise! I mean I promise..!" Dovie smiled again and sat back down. "So what made you choose to take this class? I remember you liked stars when we were youngre, but I didn't ever think you'd take a class on it. You're so cool, Lumi..!" Dovie smiled again, and moved her backpack to a little wire shelf under her chair so she could move her desk slightly closer. Gah, what is with all they happyness and girly stuff today? Dovie thought to herslf and sighed.[/glow]

Post by Teagan on Jun 10, 2005 19:59:03 GMT
Teagan ran up the stairs to astrology. It wasn't her favorite class, but she wouldn't be late, anyway. Teagan's red hair streamed behind her as she ran. She carried everything necessary for that class in her arms, careful not to drop them down the long, curving staircase. Oh, that would not be fun, she thought to herself. Teagan would sometimes appear to be a goody-goody student, but she just knew how to take care of things. Good first impressions mattered. She could trick him later, if need be.
When Teagan had finally made it to the classroom, she wasn't out of breath and was as calm as ever. Glancing about the room, Teagan noticed quite a few of her friends and people she didn't know were there: Sylph, Starlit, Zee, Hayzie, Dovie, two other Ravenclaw students, another Gyffindor student, a girl who didn't dress out, and, of course, the new professor. She smiled. This is going to be an entertaining class. Teagan walked over and sat to the left of the daydreaming Starlit Night, another of the many Ravenclaw students there. She gently put her books and telescope on her desk, and turned toward her blonde-haired friend.
"Hey, Starlit, you know you could be related to this subject?" she joked with a grin on her face. "Star" plus "night" equals "astronomy"--close enough to astrology, she factored simply in her head. Teagan's red eyes were beaming. The adrenaline that flowed through her as she made her little sprint up the stairs was quite satisfying. There were no signs that she had ran, but her heart was pumping slightly faster than normally. It quickly began to return to its normal pace.
