Ok...this is my first jab at fanficts for this site. Its basically something I came up with while trying to fall asleep one night, so please, be gentle.
“Chris, go to bed.”
I could vaguely hear my mother admonish me from the doorway as I sat facing my computer. Granted, I was a little hard of hearing, being that my headphones were fit snugly over my ears, the lyrics of some miscellaneous rock song blaring in my ears as my fingers flew across the keyboard in a tremendous clatter. I knew she would at least repeat herself again before tapping me on the shoulder, then I would pretend to jump (even though I could see her perfectly in the reflection off my screen)
Our routine deviated, however, when she quite literally yanked off my headphones. “Go to bed.” She repeated, slightly exasperated. I was about to answer when a loud crash of thunder caused me to nearly jump from my seat, “What the heck?” I said. My mom looked vaguely amused, “It’s a really nasty storm, Dad wants you to turn off your computer and such, in case the power gets knocked out.” She said, and not even bothering to hear my reply, she left the room. I turned back to my computer, in order to issue a flurry of goodbye’s via AIM when the lights abruptly flickered, then went out altogether.
“Powers out.” My dad yelled unnecessarily from downstairs. A rather profane reply was on the tip of my tongue, before I suddenly realized that something wasn’t right. My computer was still on, MH still proudly displayed across the screen. I craned my neck to see around the side of my bulky monitor; yep, everything was plugged in, but the power light on the surge protector was dark. I reached out a tentative hand, and as my fingers touched the screen, I felt an oddly wet sensation, like Jello. Suddenly, I felt my energy draining, as if my arm was a conduit for my very life force and it was being sent into the computer. As my eyelids drooped, I could have sworn I was being pulled slowly forwards….
When I awoke, I was on dry, gritty soil. Ow.... I thought, feeling a nasty lump at the edge of my forehead where I had evidently struck the ground. I rose shakily, stumbling sideways as I fought against the pull of gravity. Foggy mists enshrouded my surroundings, and as I found myself stumbling, I noticed a large rocky outcropping jutting up from the ground. As I drew closer, I noticed it was actually a cave, leading down underground. The opening was small, only rising to about waist height. Perfect for a dog..... or a Lycan. I suddenly thought. I didn’t know why a Lycan came to mind, but it HAD been MH that was on my computer when it didn’t have power.
I now approached with more caution, and was about to duck through the entrance when a surly male voice rang through my mind, ‘Why do you humans always insist on bothering us?’ A wolf-like creature, fur as black as the night sky, appeared from the mists on my left. I immediately knew it was no wolf, it was a Lycan, somehow…
‘I don’t know, Xavier darling, why do they? Perhaps they enjoy feeding us.’ A definitely feminine mental voice rang out, as another midnight black Lycan emerged from the mists, this time on the far side of me. Her form was much more sleek and agile than the first, who appeared to be pure muscle.
I was about to answer, when I realized she had used a name. Xavier. Kage’s best friend on MH. That would mean that the woman was Sealla. And THAT meant…..I was about to get devoured by my two best friends!
