Slytherin Victory Party!!

Artemis walked into the Three Broomsticks with an elated smile on her face and her quidditch robes still on. She was a bit disappointed that she hadn't gotten to play a bit more, but it didn't really matter; she was just happy they'd won a game that season. After leaning her broomstick against a table, she sat down and ordered a butterbeer. She still wasn't able to rid herself of the ridiculous smile on her face.

Green and silver quidditch robes spilled over the edge of the chair and bunched around Artemis' arms as she leaned over the counter and rested her elbows upon it and placed her chin on her palms. She didn't feel all that tired, having arrived so late in the game, and she felt like she was overflowing with energy. Maybe she'd fly around a little more later...

It wasn't long after Artemis entered that the doors to the Three Broomstick swung open once more, this time permitting entrance to a raven-haired young woman of slender build. She too was dressed in the green-and-silver Quidditch robes of the Slytherin Serpents, and though her grin wasn't so broad as the one that the Quidditch Captain had adopted, it was an expressoin that was definitely still in evidence.

She threaded her way easily through the ever crowded tables, around people and chairs, making her way to the back of the room and the bar, where Artemis sat on one of the stools. Plunking herself down on another of the swivelling seats, Hikalyn tossed her friend a grin. "We did it!" she remarked, raising her arms above her head in a stretch. After the terse atmosphere of the game, it felt good to be able to work some of the tenseness out of her muscles.

"And not only that," she remarked with a significantly raised eyebrow, "but unless my adding is completely off, we've managed to vault into second place..." Sure, they had managed nowhere near what the Hufflepuffs had as far as points went, nowhere near obtaining the Quidditch cup, but considering the fact that before this game, they had been dead last... Second place seemed good enough for her.

"Wow, I didn't think we'd done that good," Artemis remarked, but not that she thought about it, she realized that it was probably true. "How did we get more points than Gryffindor? I know Hufflepuff beat them in this last game but..."

She trailed off as the bartender set two butterbeers on the counter. Her hand closed around the cold glass and she took a gulp. The excitement of the game was finally wearing off. There was the sound of glass thuding on wood, and Artemis relaxed in her chair, feeling better than she had in a long time.

Hikalyn nodded her head at Artemis's unfinished statement, turning the motion into one of gratitude directed at the bartender as he set two foaming mugs of Butterbeer on the well-polished countertop. Hikalyn wrapped her fingers around the handle of hers, sliding it over the smooth wood towards her, and shrugged. "Well, we wracked up a decent amount of points in our game against Hufflepuff, considering we didn't win," she pointed out, raising the glass to her lips and taking a sip. "And we didn't do too badly for ourselves in our game today, either," she added with a grin once she set the mug down.

After a moment, she simply shrugged. "It just added up that way, I guess. It was a tight run, really--we only finished about thirty points ahead..."

Not long after another came in it seemed the glory from the game had already left her. She did not join the other two but ordered her own drink and moved to a dark corner.
