ooc: Okay guys, here's your last chance.
bic: Artemis walked out onto the pitch, determination flaring in her eyes. They weren't going to lose again. Not while she was there. She set the box of Quidditch balls on the grass and let the cold December air flow past her cheeks. The girl tightened her grip on her broom and walked out to the center of the pitch. This was where they'd stood right before the game had started just a few days ago. She hated that feeling of loss, but loved the determination that came after. Confindence flowed through her body as she looked around. They wouldn't lose again, she knew it.

Protege walked onto the pitch. He had been at the match against Hufflepuff, and had seen how good the team did, despite it's lack of a full team. If they had had more team members there, they would have won, I'm certain of it! he thought.
Carrying out his broom, he walked over to stranger, who appeared to be in Slytherin. Speaking, he said, "Hello, am I here for tryouts. I'll be whatever position is needed, provided that you'll trust me with that responsibility. My name's Protege."

Squee walked out onto the pitch and stood next to Protege. She had been at the Match and played, had been told she had saved the day, despite the fact she wasnt on the team. She decided to try out.
Smile on her face, bitter december breeze brushing her brown hair into her HUGE brown eyes, sparkleing with anticipation, she said "Hey Artemis. I'm here to actually try out. We are going to CRUSH the competition."

Another figure was making its way across the field to the Quidditch pitch, a broomstick slung comfortably over one shoulder. The girl didn't exactly have a long-legged stride, but her quick, determined steps carried her to the Quidditch pitch in record time.
To Hikalyn's disappointment, when she arrived at her destination there were only three other Slytherins waiting for the tryouts to begin. But then, it was still early, she reminded herself. There was plenty of time for the others to show up. Presuming, of course, that any more would. After the frustratingly close loss in the Slyth-Huffle game, that seemed like a wildly optimistic assumption to be making.
Artemis has made a rather drastic move in clearing the roster for the Quidditch team and declaring that they begin again from square one, but Hikalyn couldn't say it had exactly been undeserved. Trying fill all seven positions on the team had not exactly been fun.
She brushed an errant lock of hair out of amethyst eyes hardened by determination. She sent smiles to Squee and Artemis, and a nod of greeting to the boy clutching a broom, presumably ther for tryouts, before turning and addressing the Quidditch Captain. "You wanting to wait a bit to see if anyone else shows up?"

"Yeah, I guess it'd be a bit pointless to start with only four people," Artemis replied with a smile. She was hoping more people would show up for the tryouts, but if more people didn't come they'd just have to make do.
The girl turned to Squee. "Hey, I'm glad you came. You did a great job at the game by the way. We probably couldn't have made it as far as we did without you." She knew they could do better than they have out on the pitch that day.
The cool December breeze ruffled Artemis' hair and sent an icy chill down the quidditch captain's spine. She hoped more players would arrive before it got too cold to play. The girl bent down to the box sitting on the grass and flicked it open. She drew out a red, leather covered ball and began tossing it restlessly from one hand to another, eyes searching the fields willing for more people to come.

Marina Roeswood was smart. Marina Roeswood was punctual. But right now, Marina was late. She cursed loudly and shamelessly as she sprinted out the door as quick as her short legs would carry her, then swinging up onto her Nimbus 2000 and careening towards the pitch, calming as the wind tugged at her hastily made ponytail, causing her hair to stream out behind her like some sort of odd flag marking her arrival.
She touched down awkwardly a little bit before the pitch, tumbling off her broom and across the grass to then right herself and come running up to Artemis with an apologetic sheepish grin on her face. There probably weren't many people at the school her ever seen her in a state like this. On Nina, the exhasperated expression looked bizarre.
"Sorry, sorry, here now..." she mumbled breathlessly. Although she had only missed the beginning of practice by a few moments, and there was scarcely anyone there, she was still embarrassed for her slip of character. Marina wasn't allowed to do anything wrong. That's what she thought anyway.
"I'm sorry I missed last game..." Looking ashamed, she cleared her throat and averted her gaze quickly, pretending to look around at the unfamiliar faces. She'd taken her leave from the school for awhile. She hadn't been well.

A faint smile touched Artemis' lips as Nina tumbled onto the pitch. "Hey Nina, glad you could make it," she said as her friend clambered up from the ground. Better late than never, I guess. Ah, and do try to make the next game. We're in desperate need of beaters at the moment."
The girl turned to the other players. "Okay, I think we have enough players to manage a practice. Do any of you have a prefered position?"

"Chaser." She said confidently. She looked about and realized she was the youngest person there. This didnt phase her a bit. Nobody was there to tell her she was a failure if she didnt make it. She could just imagine a letter from her parents
Dear Squee,
You suck.
~Love Mom And Dad.
She shrugged. They were so far away, she couldnt even feel her hate.

"Beater," Nina stated absentmindedly. It was common knowledge that it was the quidditch position she played, so she knew that any fuss in the answer really wouldn't be worth the effort. She didn't want to seem unenthusiastic: she was just a bit tired after the dash to the pitch. Still catching her breath, she smiled ruefully kicked the toe of her shoe in the sand.
"Though, if needed, I could play chaser or keeper in a pinch," she added thoughtfully, her face beginning to return to normal color. She summoned her broom absentmindedly with a flick of her wand and then used it as a makeshift staff. It was then she noticed that she wasn't familiar with the other girl at the try-outs, which was not a good thing being a prefect.
"Hello, I'm Marina Roeswood," she said, addressing Squee with a smile. "You are?"

Shade ran onto the Quidditch Pitch. She knew she was late. In her hand, she held her Firebolt. She smiled.
"I'm sorry that I'm late. I saw the post note on the boards a few days ago, and forgot about it." She spluterd, gasping for air. "Then I got lost in the corridors. I'm new here, and thought I'd try out." Shade explained.
She thought she had made a fool out of herself- How could they want a little first-year on the Slytherin team? When she was still in Europe, she had practised with her friends. She liked beeing seeker, and was pretty good at it.
OOC: OK, I admit, I wanna be seeker. New here, so just tell me what to do. I am a Slytherin, but they need to update the position thingie.

she smiled at the prefect "Toti Casil, but everyone calls me Squee." She looked at the new arrival, eager to be a seeker. "Yo." she said casually.

Shade looked Squee. She managed a smile, but was really shy. Her most favorite place to be was in the common room, on a sofa, reading her History books.
"So... Why don't we start the g-g-ame?" Her voice was shaky, but held the mystirios musical voice it always did.
