*sighs* The Head Boy and Girl never get mentioned. Bar once. *slinks off again*
EDIT: Wait. I did have a point with this post. It deserted me temporarily. It decided to come back, which was nice of it. Courteous. Anyway...
I like the idea of Role-Playing classes. And the Prefects and Head Boy and Girl could run it, rather than creating a new character. And that could create another use for those of us who stand about and look pretty. *blinks*

That's a good idea - apart from the honour that you guys get, and the general "you-break-rules-we-throw-you-in-a-pit-of-lions" thing, you don't get to do majorly much.
That was really bad use of grammar. Hmmm.
Anyway. Yeah, that would be really cool. Because, also, let's face it, the HB and HG were chosen because they're brilliant Roleplayers. People that we can rely on to make us laugh, smile, cry, and... well, damn it, just people we can rely on! If everyone were like them, I think the world... would be... a better place.

Actually my intentions weren't aimed at you, Marina, Jade, or Adhara. I wasn't pin-pointing anyone when I made that statement. It was for everyone, participating in this thread or not, who complain about problems here, and do nothing about them. And yes, we all don't have hours upon hours to be saintly, and help every newbie to register on this site. But then you shouldn't have all this time to put into complaining. I think Jade's idea about teaching them in a class-like setting is a great way to solve this problem, or at least get a handle on it. ...And this question...pink haired girl!? Anyway, I usually get some sort of threatening IM when I speak out like this so I'll end it here. THe rebel I am. lol

*waves cheerily at Head Girl and Boy* We love you!!!! ;D In my commonroom, I've made a stickied post titled in large big, block letters: "ATTENTION!", that will hopefully grab notice from the newbies in Ravenclaw. It lists not really rules or anything, just simple guide lines or suggestions about roleplaying on the site. Alright, so this classroom, should we just IM the people that need it and perhaps hold it once a week or whenever necessary? and the pink haired girl... read Bright Lights at the old MH...

And you honestly want a Miss United States tiara? Well...whatever floats your chickens...
But yeah, we could take it in turns to run lessons. Rotate it all. Once a week is good. Maybe we should get WR or Claire to send the IM though, it might be nicer coming from them. So keep tabs on the newbies you think need it. And we'll leave it open as well - because we might miss someone.
Perhaps we could use the Golden Snitch Awards as some form of incentive?
Oh and Jess? *sends threatening IM, just to conform* ;D

Yay my turn to butt in ! =D Some people are on about heroics and rite and wrongs, but how on earth do you distinguish rite heroics from wrong?! I know for a fact that Mortimer Lezek is a dark and lonely person who for one reason or another has fallen out with a few lycans, if one of his friends is being harrassed by them surely he can jump in. And as for "Forest creature are stronger than students" WHA ? Lycans are only mortals, wolves even, surly a stupfy knock out charm, simple and easy can deal with one. *End rant* So would somebody please be kind enough to try to explain what bad and good heroics are and how i cant fight back against a vampire or demon if ones intimidating me first ?

I guess it's my turn to say something (yay ;D)
I have a few things buggin me - 1.) people who have pictures that TAKE UP THE ENTIRE FREAKIN SCREEN, you people know who you are, and if you don't. simply put, you are the dumbest beings on the planet *cough Morgan cough cough* sorry I think I have a cold or something
2.) people who have swords, why the hell would you need it?
3.) people who complain about other people because said people don't write enough (not everybody likes to write a novel to say a short little phrase)

Mortimer - Lycans appear to be a lot stronger than you or anybody else realises. Would you like to be cornered with a wolf on a dark night? I doubt it. And yes, though a simple Stupefy would be likely to stop them, wolves have unmatchable reflexes, and usually dodge most spells that come their way.
All creatures are dangerous to the students, but mostly so on their own turf. I apologise if this irritates anybody, but the Forbidden Forest belongs to all the creatures who dwell within it, and the magical energies that exist within the Forest mean that anything could happen to a student who goes wandering - think of it this way, would you like it if a bunch of Lycans wandered into your House common room and started making a massive fuss? No, of course not! And why not? Because it isn't their space. Just like the Forest is not yours. You can fight back if you are being attacked... but, to be perfectly honest, if you've invaded their territory, then you probably deserve to be attacked, and shouldn't expect otherwise.
I think I've said all I needed to say... when the frontpages are up and running you'll be able to read more about all the creatures here at Magic Horizons, and it should hopefully widen your understanding and tolerance level.

Rose, I'm glad you beat me to the punch, because you put that a lot better than I could have. *bows*
Heh, as soon as I joined the site I've been after a golden snitch. *grins* The awards were still posted, so I read all of them, but really didn't truly appreciate everything because I had no idea who the characters were.
[quoteSo would somebody please be kind enough to try to explain what bad and good heroics are and how i cant fight back against a vampire or demon if ones intimidating me first ?[/quote]
Okay... here goes nothing...
Well, first you have to think that you couldn't possible show up to save your friends on every occasion. You do not have some sort of signal that flares up in the sky when a friend is in trouble, or a pager. You are not Batman.
Second off, a well RPed post would be much more respected. And also, consider situation. If you make some attempt to fight, and remain respectful, you will be liked a lot better than if you're rude and you just appear and disappear with who you're saving. That will definitely piss people off. Cheap escapes are always a no-no.
And finally, for the most part, just don't rescue. It's unrealistic, and half the time, you just end up making people angry.
Kay, I'm done.

Allow me to answer Dante's questions, eh?
1.) I completely agree. Let's get out the pitchforks and photoshops.
2.) Because swords are FREAKING AWESOME.
3.) ...depends on what you mean by 'writing enough.' This is what I consider NOT acceptable.
So-and-So walked in 'Hi'.
This is what I consider acceptable.
So-and-So Rashikidad walked in, a smirk on his/her face. (S)he looked around the school entrance hall, more happy than nervous that (s)he had finally come to the school (s)he had been told about.
"Hello? Is anyone there?" (s)he said, the words echoing throughout the hall. "I'm...new." (S)he sighed, (s)he had learned that the mean authorities didn't like new people from a thread (s)he read in the Student Council.
There you go. All your questions answered. *smile* And you know, that last one I got carried away with, hell. It'd probably be acceptable with only one paragraph. We'll take anything, but if it's one line, come on. We obviously won't like you. ELABORATE A LITTLE people. It's not THAT hard. How was your character feeling? What was your character wearing? Well? WELL?

I don't mean to bug you again, but what is the actual point of having a sword? Are you trying to make up for something? This is a magical world - a knife I can understand for everyday use and such, but a sword?
And as for not always elaborating, what if you have been talking for a long time... do you have to say what you are wearing every time? emotion i can well understand. I disagree about the obvious dislike thing, I've been posting a lot on this one thread, most of it one liners. And there is a girl on said thread that i think may like me, but I'm absolutely positive that she doesn't hate me

When I speak of 'we', I mean the authority of the site. The Headmistresses, the Prefects, the Head Boy and Girl, the Rulers of the Creatures, not the regular folks. After all, the regular folks are just as bad as everyone else. That's why we're trying to help you.
*sigh* I think I just explained the sword thing. BECAUSE. THEY. ARE. FREAKING. AWESOME. It doesn't matter whether or not you NEED it. *shrugs*
And don't worry, my job is to be bugged. Not like I have anything better to do.
