I JUST REMEMBERED WHAT THE PROPER THING WAS!!! I said I'd remembered, but I hadn't really... eheh People not logging in when they post in the muggle world etc. It's vaguely annoying... because it's almost like... I don't know what it's like, but it's vaguely annoying... And Morgan, don't worry, it'll all be okay.. -pats- maybe she could be the school ghost?

Well, her character is gone, but I've seen her username around.... she uses the same one... I'm always becoming wary of characters with Riddle as a last name or with three in their name... *bites tongue*

I think that the Prefects who have not-so-great roleplayers in their houses (and the Head Boy and Girl) should maybe IM them and give them a few tips. I'm mentioned!!!!! *glee* I love being Head Boy. But anyway, there is a slight problem to it. This site is constantly being flooded with newbies. If, let's say, three newbies popped in every week, I could, with my elite RP-ing skills, teach them how to become fine RP-ers. But, in the words of Michaela, 'They just all join together and feed off their stupidness.'

Very good suggestions.
If I may add my own little tidbit?
I will personally snap each and every finger of the next person who sends me an internet-jargon filled IM requesting to be sired.
*bows* Thank you.

*laughs* It's like you guys are reading my mind...
But, as you know, I pride myself on the fact that this school isn't elitist to the extent that I will only accept good roleplayers. Everyboy deserves a chance... hell, when I started this roleplaying thing, I used asterixes. *bows heads in shame* But, after two or three posts, I looked around and saw how everyone else was doing it and caught on. Maybe Song was right in suggesting that a few friendly tips could help get them on the right path... all you'd have to do is IM them, show them how to really do it, tell them that they have a lot of potential and if they roleplay right then they'll have a lot more fun and a lot more people will post with them, and BAM! You should have instant good RP-ing. (OK, maybe not good... but anything's better than what we got now, right?)
And, addressing the FF issue... I'm going to be placing a warning on the Forest like the ones on the Vampires Lair, etc., saying that the Forest belongs to the creatures within, etc. What do you think about that?
Let me know. This is a rather interesting discussion.

I definitely wouldn't want this place to become elitist. I played at a site, NH, that went from really free for everyone to completely elitist. It used to be so much fun, but now it's just a popularity contest. I can still play there, but a lot of other people have problems.
And yes, that would be a good warning. I wish we could do more to keep the students that do venture in inline. I hate when they try to act all superior to the creatures in the forest. That irks me even more than them being in there in the first place.

*grins* (Oh, by the way, I hope ^ that isn't annoying, as in the *grins* thing... that's just mild roleplaying in ooc. Ah, I don't know how to explain it. But it's never done by me in IC posts, so... *shrugs*) Anyhoo. Yeah, Jacob, well done, you're mentioned! *laughs* Its nice to see people that appreciate this kind of thing. I don't know HOW I got this piece of info but it really annoys the Headmistresses when someone's made Prefect or HB/HG (although Jacob, you were very good about it, and I'm sure Kiki was too) and you get NO REACTION at all. No IM back or anything. HOW RUDE. Anyway. So all you people who are Prefects etc, that generally means that you're a good roleplayer, and the people that have put in effort into making this site have noticed that. I think that should make you feel pleased in the least. And they're also people who could probably be doing important work or something at University (College for all the US people LOL) but instead they put their time into making sure this site hasn't died. Yes, there have been a few scares. Yes, people are constantly moaning "Oh no, we haven't got any interesting plots..." MAKE ONE. Seriously. It doesn't just bug my sister and Claire, it bugs me too, because I see her pissed-off face when she's on here, and generally its to do with people having a go at her. And then I have to calm her down, and usually get the phone so that she can call Claire LOL. So I feel just as much involved as her. And I bet you all do too! I know that most of the regulars are quite attatched to Rosie and Claire. So... Wow, that was WAY not-to-the-point. But I think it gets some of my emotions out, no? *grins* Anyway. Love you all, even the people who hate me.

Did I not just say what I thought of that, Headmistress? Allow me to quote myself:
If, let's say, three newbies popped in every week, I could, with my elite RP-ing skills, teach them how to become fine RP-ers.
But, in the words of Michaela, they just 'Join together and feed off their stupidness.'
Now, this isn't about the Vampire Queen, this is just about how exactly REAL that quote is. They look around at OTHER newbies and see how THEY do it which is JUST AS BAD.
If we had some sort of newbie control, a way to make it so that they don't just pile in at once and feed off their stupidness, we could perhaps find a way for it to work.
By the way, I like Marina's idea of 'newbie buddies'.

LOL me too. It was interesting.
Hmm. Idea has now completely whooshed from my head.
It could be like those schools that have security checks... "Roleplaying Skills... no? Get to the back of the line. Come back when you have some."
