Persephone walked up the stairs to the owlery. She had come up here often, sometimes to send off letters to her friends. But she'd always felt awkward, never sending a letter to her parents. She sunk to the floor at that thought. Her parents were dead. Tears ran from her emerald eyes. She cried silently and wondered if anyone could hear her at all.

In Alexandra's hand was a letter to her parents; she wanted to tell them how she was doing at Magic Horizons. She opened the door and entered the huge, circular room. A girl was sitting at the floor not far from her.
"Hello there," she said, smiling. After some seconds Alex understood that something was wrong, and the smile faded.
"What's wrong?"

Persephone wasn't sure exactly what to tell her. It wasn't so easy to tell an absolute stranger that you were crying because your parents were dead. She thought about how that sounded in her head. Stupid...My parents have been dead for awhile, I should be moving on, getting better, but I'm not... Persephone looked up at the girl again. She seemed caring, or at least nice enough. "It's just that a lot of people come up here to send letters to their parents, but I don't...I mean I can't. Then last night someone asked me to write a letter home to my parents to see if I could spend the holidays with them. But I can't do it..." She looked down at her robes. Even as the words poured from her mouth she realized how stupid they sounded.

Alexandra looked at the girl while she talked. A feeling of helplessness hit her; she could feel that this girl went through something that not many others did. “Why can’t you go to them?” she said when the other was finished. “I’m sure that they want to have them with them...” But somehow she knew it wasn’t that easy. The look of the girl said that something terrible had happened.
She sighed and sat down next to the girl, not knowing what to say anymore. The howling of the owls calmed her down somehow, gave her time to think. A long time passed in silence.
“So... I guess something’s happened to them?” She knew how silly it sounded, but she didn’t know what else to say, and she didn’t want to leave this girl like this. Not in her state.

Persephone looked at the floor. "My parents...are dead." Those few words were amost impossible for her to say. Sure it had been easy to confess the death of her parents when she had been in the graveyard with Forgoil, but this was different. "That's why I can't write to them..." She left it at that not knowing if she had said too much or if this girl would be like the others and turn her back on her.

The words hit Alexandra. “I’m…I’m sorry to hear…” she said, staring at the floor. “If there’s anything I can do…” But she didn’t continue, she didn’t know what to say. As much as she wanted to comfort this girl, she didn’t manage to do so. So there she sat, lost for words, and the other girl was probably thinking she was heartless because she didn’t say anything more.

Persephone's eyes filled with unshed tears. She hadn't expected the other girl to do anything. No one could bring back the dead. No matter how much you loved someone or how much you missed them they were NEVER coming back. "You must think I'm crazy for not getting on with my life. THey died when I was little, I should be moving on..." Persephone knew she was rambling, but a part of her didn't want to stop talking.

”Even if you were too young to remember them now, you should still carry them within you,” Alexandra said after a while, looking at the girl, trying to smile, but how could she do that when the other one was crying? “Hey, everything’s going to be alright,” she said in a comforting voice.
“A friend of mine never knew her parents. They’re probably still alive, but she grew up with her grandmother. She never knew what happened to them, and this makes her, well, depressed sometimes. She won’t admit it, but I can see it, just like I see that you are,” she said. “So, you’re not alone in being that. Not that’s a great comfort.” A half smile went over her face.

Persephone looked at the other girl. She seemed to be trying to brighten up the mood, and she nodded. "It still makes it rough though. My only living relatives are my twin and my little sister...not much of a family if you ask me..."

“It’s better than nothing,” Alexie replied quietly. She knew she wasn’t the best at brighten people’s days, but at least she tried. Not everyone did that.
“Sometimes, when I’m down, I use to sing!” she said in a last attempt to make the girl smile.
((OOC: Sorry for the crappyness >.< ))

((OOC: That's ok!)) Persephone smiled slightly at that. She didn't sing bad, but she sure didn't think she sung well. And she gave Alexandra a doubtful look.

The blonde noticed the girl’s look and shrugged. “Yeah, I know it sounds stupid, but it brightens my mood,” she said shortly, not looking at the other. How stupid that must’ve sounded, a voice in Alexandra’s head said, and she sighed, trying not to think about how bad she was at making friends.

She sighed. She didn't want to make Alexandra feel bad. She knew how she had felt when she had met Sam up here crying. It had ripped her apart, but she hadn't been able to do anything about it. "I fear you may go deaf if I started to sing!"

A relieving laughter escaped Alexander. “I’m sure I wouldn’t,” she said, hoping the girl was feeling better now. It couldn’t be easy for her, Alexie thought, losing her parents at such a young age.
“Oh, my name’s Alexandra, by the way.” She hadn’t said it before, and thought the atmosphere was lighter, and that it perhaps was about time to introduce herself.

She nodded at the name and smiled. It was a pretty name, and reminded her of a friend that she had had before she'd came here. "I'm Persephone, but most people just call me Sephe, it makes it all easier."
