Shazza was bored out of her mind.
It was the hottest of hot days, and the only thing to do was lay around or wander around the castle, which was what she had decided to do.
It was even too hot to going swimming, for the sun scorched all those who even attempted to go outside.
Her long black hair clung to her head and body, and her tangerine tank top was drenched in sweat, while her white shorts were beginning to get in the same state.
Her eyes, half lidded by the heat, opened a little wider to see where she was.
Somehow, she had managed to drift her way to the Owlery.
Entering, Shazza smiled at seeing all the owls hidden away in dark pockets of shade, watching her warily.
'Smart birds' she thought to herself.
Then, out of the corner of her eye, she saw something fly through one of the many windows a smack into the wall.
Gasping in surprise, Shazza spun around, whipping out her wand as she did so.
She felt a blush of stupidity rise as she realized that it was (surprise!) an owl, but that quickly turned to worry, as it currently lying unconcious on the floor.
The tawny owl twitched pathetically, and Shazza noticed the arrow lodged it's left wing.
'It's been shot! What should I do?'
The first thing that came to mind was to take the arrow out of it's wing (because that's what you're supposed to do when it happens with people: take the object out, right?), so as gently and quickly as she could, she knelt down, grabbed the arrow, plucked it out.
"Ouch!" he yelped.
"Sorry!" she replied, studying the arrow.
Then she froze, her eyes widening.
'Wait a minute. Did that owl just speak?'
She looked down at her charge to see it's round black eyes blink a few times at her, only to pass out again.
Then it began to change.
Shazza jumped back as the owl began to grow; it's wings become arms, it's talons became toes, growing out to feet and legs. It's body began to lose its feathers and it's face became more humanlike.
Just a quickly as it started, it was over, and a young man around her age was lying in the place where the owl once lay.
And to top it all off, he was naked.
She was so shocked that it was then she began to scream.
