Such a strange sense of humor fate has; that it caused it's chosen fool to come once more to his place of doom. It's fool sat on one of the windowsills of the Tower and let his legs dangle out into the night. And here Forgoil sat in his silent sojourn; lost in thought about something that everyone finds themselves thinking. What are they really? Are they are bearer of the light or do they serve the darkness. Or do they ignore both calls and follow a different path altogether? That was what puzzled the boy as he closed his green-grey eyes in thought.
The side of good never seemed able to fully destroy that which sought to wipe them of the face of the Earth. No matter how many battles were fought or how many lives lost in the process; it seemed that the seed of evil was something that was sown repeatedly and spouted as quickly as it first was sown. The ideas and morals were all well and good; however, there was the fact that no matter what one did nothing seemed to become what one wanted it to be. There was no peace for one; no respite.
The same happened for those that desired power and enjoyed watching their ascent to it. They would do anything to reach that point in their lifes and then cling to it for as long as possible until old age tore it from their grasp. They strove to make changes the way that they felt they needed to be changed and yet it normally turned out that those changes were something that everyone later regretted. These people enjoyed causing suffering, hatred; anything that was violent and helped them raise in power.
What was Forgoil Halifirien? Was he one or the other? Or did he just simply not exist in any one's view outside of the school? That closed eyes tried to hold back the tear but they slowly leaked out from underneath and stained his shirt. The face showed no sign of emotion; only the tears that fell to his shirt and those that plummeted to the school grounds from his lofty perch. Was this what Fate had ordained for her fool; that he was only made to think and yet never decide? Well; until things became clearer to him; Forgoil would stay and continue his silent and mystified contemplation on himself.
ooc: bah. Muse is dying on me again.

The stars shone bright in the sky as Faye inhaled a deep breath of the night air, sensing the coming of fall riding on it. In just a few weeks it would be too cold for her to wear a sleeveless shirt outside, and then she would begin to don her usual black cloak as the winter began to set in. It would mark her year-anniversary at the school, though she didn't feel quite that old. Merely tired sometimes, like she had been overworked and undercared for, even though she knew in her heart that wasn't true. There were those that did truely care, like Lottie and Forgoil.
Forgoil. How long had it been since she had seen him? Not since the day of her accident, the fuzzy memories of him and the History of Magic professor and the slightly odd days that followed. It had somehow made her feel out of tune, just generally different. Not different in a bad way, but it wasn't quite good either. It was something she didn't really have words to describe.
Sighing, she made her way over the grass in front of the school and up to the locker where she stored her broom. It hadn't been used since the Quiddich Cup game and had spent the rest of the time gathering dust, as regrettable as that was. She had been disappointed that she hadn't gotten the chance to fly it lately, which saddened her. Quickly, she undid the lock with a brief flick of her wand and within minutes she was flying.
The wind whistled past her and whipped her hair around her face, but she didn't care. Swooping in large circles around the school, she enjoyed listening to the crickets chirp and feeling the cool rush of air on her face. It was like ecstasy to her. Free as a bird, allowed to fly by a mere piece of magical wood instead of a pair of wings. But she didn't want wings- who would, when they had such a lovely life on the ground?
Dashing up high above the school, she decided that the Astronomy Tower might be the best place to land. From there, she might be able to just sit and think for a while before making the long trek back to the common room. So, with one gentle turn of her hand, she began to slowly decend towards the tower. A quick flash of moonlight revealed a silver-haired boy sitting on the edge, whom she quickly recognized.
"Hi." She suddenly said, bringing her broom to swoop right in front of him and gently hover there. "It's been a while, hasn't it?"

Forgoil's train of thought was abruptly interrupted with a sudden whoosh of as something moved right in fron of him and hovered in place. Startled; Forgoil fell backwards into the tower and landed flat on his back. As he pushed himself up and brushed the grey hair out of his eyes; Forgoil's tear-stained face was greeted by that of Faerlain's beautiful face. A smile urged to break loose and Forgoil wanted to run over to the window as his estatic self would've normally done. But now he was no where near that joyful self that he normally was prone to be.
Now he looked older than he really was, one could describe the look on his face as tired, and yet there were so many other descriptions that could be mentioned and yet none of them would be able to describe Forgoil's face. His eyes still were as lively as ever but everything else seemed...dimmed. Perhaps it was from the amount of thought that Forgoil put into things as of late; or maybe it was caused by some of his close friends suddenly changing in a way that seemed to leave him out of the equation. First Lottie, then Carmen; who next?
What would he say to Faerlain? It seemed that it was his words that drove off the others, but nothing he had said was offensive in any way. Perhaps they had grown tired of Forgoil and decided to move on, but he didn't want that to happen to Faerlain. If she were to move on; he didn't know what he would do. With a sigh and a smile as he stood to his full height; Forgoil said, "You are right Faye; it has been awhile. Nothing has happened to you over that hiatus or at least I hope that nothing has."
"So; how are you? You seem to be enjoying yourself to say the least."

Slowly, she mauvered her broom over to the tower's ledge and then stepped off, being very careful to keep one hand on her broom and one upon the reassuring stone banister of the Astronomy Tower. It was at least a fifty foot fall down to the grassy lawn below, a fall that she certainly didn't want to take. Heights made her a tad bit queasy as well, so she felt slightly nervous as she balanced there before finally jumping down onto the solid floor. Letting out a small sigh, she extended her hand to help him up.
He looked so... tired. Did he always look so tired? She couldn't seem to remember, but knew that he was usually happier than this. But she didn't want to press him into revealing anything, even though she felt that something negative must have happened to him. Maybe it had something to do with the little feud between Lottie and Sakura, which she still wasn't all that happy about. The two cousins should just learn to get along and just get over whatever had happened in the past. The past was something you couldn't dwell on forever.
She leaned her broom up against the side of the tower, making sure that it was safe before returning her eyes to Forgoil. With him so small seeming on the ground, it made her feel so much older than him. In reality, she knew that she was only around a year older... but now he looked like a small child for some reason. Smiling a little bit, she shrugged as he asked her how things had been as of late.
"Nothing particularly interesting, I'm afraid." She replied, flipping her head a little bit to chase her bangs away from her eyes. "I've been fine, and I've been taking advantage of this night to take one of my last flights before it begins to get cold. How about you?"
