Ondrea as normal, could not get to sleep, her eyes growing darker and darker every day. However, tonight she did get a nap in, but was awoken by a terrible nightmare. After about an hour of sitting still in her bed, afraid to fall asleep again, she decided she would go out for a walk. Stepping out of her bed, she put on her slippers, reached for her hoodie, out of instinct, but put it down again, since it was too hot of a night out to wear a sweatshirt. Straightening out her loose black tank-top, she swung her back-pack over her shoulder, and started out of the common room, quietly.
Once outside, she wondered if she take a visit to the lake, but decided that the astronomy tower was a better place for some reason, unknown to her. Climbing the many stairs of the astronomy tower, she sang a song that she recently made up. Upon reaching the top of the tallest tower, she found herself out of breath, and gave herself a shot of her asthma spray.
Finding a spot, on the balcony, she looked up at the sky, the stars twinkling down at her. She wondered how each and everyone of them got to be there. All of a sudden there was a dramatic change in temperature, and goosebumps crawled up her pale legs, all the way up to her guys boxer shorts, where they could no longer be seen; a long with a spine-tingling chill. Her teeth began to chatter, but soon enough her body adjusted to the temperature, and her teeth stopped chattering.
Opening her bag, she pulled on her head phones, and started listening to Yellowcard, one of the many Cd's' she had, pulling out her drawing pad, she began to sketch something, something that came straight from her imagination, that she had not seen before.

Starlit had been laying awake for a while now. Not feeling her usual happy self inside lately she had grown rather melancholy. Sitting up in bed she put her bare feet on the cold stone floor and stood up. Instead of going to her place on the windowsill she decided maybe she would take a walk around to the castle, and go to the astronomy tower since she had not been up there for quiet a long while.
Slipping on a green sweater, a pair of grey sneakers, and slipping her wand into the back and only pocket of her black pajama pants she made her way to the tower, with a book in hand. 'Maybe I will get some reading in,' she thought.
Starting the long walk up the what seemed like thousands of stairs she finally reached the tower and as usual when she came up here was awed by the wonderful display of the night sky.
Giving a slight shiver as she felt the cold that lingered in the air on her face she folded her arms and spotted Ondrea sitting nearby.
"Hey," she said giving a forced smile. Noticing the dark circles under the Slytherins eyes she both asked and commented, "Sleep troubles?" She continued speaking as she opened her book.
"Summers almost come to an end it would seem," the nights had been getting colder, as did the days that were sometimes accompanied by the odd rain shower, which was alright by her.
Finding she couldn't keep her attention focused at the moment she sighed and leaned backwards, deciding that she would just watch the stars and see if she saw something new. She liked that about the sky. It was always the same, but it never stopped surprising Starlit with things she had not yet spotted before in her fourteen year life time.

Ondrea continued to sing as she drew, glancing up, as she heard the muffled sound of foot-steps, she saw her friend Star. She quickly returned her gaze to her drawing-pad, where her picture was coming along quite nicely.
"Hey." she said quietly, and at Stars comment, she rubbed her eyes, that had bags underneath them, "Yeah, I haven't had a proper sleep for about three weeks." Ondrea sighed, "Today I thought I was going to get some sleep, but noooo, I can't have a dreamless sleep, and actually get some rest."
Ondrea pointed to her bags under her eyes, "Too lazy to cover them up." she said, a little smirk across her face.
Putting her drawing-pad to the side, she would finish it later, and she layed down, getting a better view of the beautiful stars, "Meh, I don't mind much, I like the fall, and spring, mostly because it is not too cold, not too hot, and it rains a lot more in those seasons." Ondrea said, lifting her head off the ground slightly, then putting it back down she smiled slightly, "The only thing I will really miss about the summer, is not being able to go for a good swim, and the sky won't be as clear, so there won't be so many stars visible."
Ondrea let out a loud yawn, "What brings you up here tonight, Star?" she asked, in her usual whisper of a voice.

Starlit frowned as her friend spoke of not being able to have a dreamless sleep, "Some people say that dreams have meanings, although they don't always, you should try talking to somebody who knows more about this then I do, like an expert on dreams. I'm not sure what they are actually called though," she spoke in a serious voice.
It lightened though as her friend spoke of being to lazy to cover up the bags under her eyes. "Pretty soon you are going to start being mistaken as a raccoon, since you seem to be nocturnal."
Nodding in agreement to Ondreas comment on the rain she said nothing and leaned back onto the wall and closed her eyes.
Keeping them shut she continued speaking, "I don't know can't sleep I guess."

Ondrea tried to keep a straight face, as her friend spoke about a dream expert, but couldn't help but to burst out laughing, looking up, at her, "You are so funny, and you don't even mean to be, you know that." she said, that little comment, had made her happy for the slightest moment, but soon enough she was back to thinking about her dad.
Ondrea laughed again, as Star made a comment, that Ondrea knew she meant to be funny, "I am surprised you recognized me!" Ondrea said, "I have never seen a nocturnal human before, maybe I will make it on Ripley's believe it or not!"
Leaning back in a synchronized motion as Star, she nodded, "I wish the human body could just function properly without sleep, I mean, like without ever getting tired." Ondrea put her thumb down, "BOO to tiredness!"

Starlit scowled jokingly at Ondreas comment of her being funny even when she wasn't trying to be. "Maybe I should start saying random knock knock jokes then."
"Maybe you will make Ripleys believe it or not, but first you would have to turn into some odd cave creature and live off bugs before those people decided it was a good enough story," her description reminded her somewhat of the book character Gollum which caused a smile to spread across her face. Even though he was a sad creature in the books she still at times found him very amusing.
Starlit opened one eye putting her thumb down as well. "Let's beat tiredness I suggest we pull an all nighter," she said with a yawn and standing up in place. She reached into her bag and pulled out a few random chocolate frogs, and a package of gummy worms. Tearing open the plastic Starlit selected a blue and pink worm, the colors went down the candy in a pattern, pink then blue, then pink again and finally blue. Ripping off the first pink section she popped it into her mouth. It was the way she had always eaten the candy one color at a time. Holding out the bag to Ondrea she swallowed, "Help yourself."

Ondrea smiled, "Eww, living off bugs, that's just ew. I would be like a kind of like a Gollum creature, or some cave-man instead of a raccoon."
"All-nighters... I have had quite the number, but I must say I am usually not with a friend, so it actually might be fun... But how can we beat the tiredness, I know we can stay up all night, but we will still be t-" Ondrea stopped when she saw the candy that Star had pulled out, "Smart." she said, eying the candy, and licking her lips.
"Love at first sight." Ondrea said, as she took out an orange and green gummy worm, and then laughed.
She took a bite, the gooeyness tasting so good, "Yum." she said pointing to the gummy-worm, "Thanks Star."

Starlit ripped the blue section of her gummy worm and placed it in her mouth, letting the sour sugar evaporate on her tongue before swallowing the rest. "Know what we need," she said with a smile, "Pop, it just wouldn't be an all-nighter without a can of pop." Star couldn't help but be happy at the thought of the fizzy drink, lately she had replaced it with butterbeer which was far more common in the wizarding world.
"I'll be right back," she said and ran out of the tower back to her common room. A bit over five minutes later she returned with one orange and one purple can of pop. "I thought I brought some pop with me on the train here, it was at the bottom of my trunk. It probably is still good after all I have seen people drink eight year old pop and they said it tasted fine."
Sitting back down on the floor she set the two cans on the floor in front of her. "Would you like orange, or grape?" she asked and added, "I don't care which you pick I like both flavors."
Having finished off her gummy worm on the way back to the tower she picked out another one, only this time it was yellow and red.

Ondrea nodded, "I havn't had pop in a couple of years-" but before she could finish, Star had left, to get them a can of pop.
Ondrea leaned back on the wall behind her, still sucking on her first bite of the worm, she just loved the sour yet sweet worms.
Suddenly Ondrea broke out into a song, she had the song stuck in her head for the past while, and was just wanting to burst out singing it, but hadn't been along for quite some time- strangely enough.
"I'm coming out of my cage And I’ve been doing just fine Gotta gotta be down Because I want it all It started out with a kiss How did it end up like this It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss Now I’m falling asleep And she’s calling a cab While he’s having a smoke And she’s taking a drag Now they’re going to bed And my stomach is sick And it’s all in my head But she’s touching his—chest Now, he takes off her dress Now, let me go
And I just can’t look its killing me And taking control Jealousy, turning saints into the sea Swimming through sick lullabies Choking on your alibis But it’s just the price I pay Destiny is calling me Open up my eager eyes ‘Cause I’m Mr Brightside
I’m coming out of my cage And I’ve been doing just fine Gotta gotta be down Because I want it all It started out with a kiss How did it end up like this It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss Now I’m falling asleep And she’s calling a cab While he’s having a smoke And she’s taking a drag Now they’re going to bed And my stomach is sick And it’s all in my head But she’s touching his—chest Now, he takes off her dress Now, let me go
Cause-"
Ondrea stopped singing, and bobbing her head, when she realized that Star had entered the room, and had set two cans of pop on the ground. Ondrea blushed furiously, knowing that Star had heard her singing, that she thought was terrible, but really it sounded amazing... well if she was singing more of a rock or punkish song.
"Sorry 'bout that." Ondrea said, eyeing the pop, "Um... I don't mind either one, but for some reason I am craving grape." Ondrea said picking up the pop, "Ha, I have had worse things then old pop anyway, plus it isn't likely that it would have gone bad... unless you secretly came here one hundred years ago, and have died, and now are a ghost, he is pretending to be a student." Ondrea said, "Do I need to investigate?" she asked jokingly.

Starlit picked up the can of orange pop and put pressure on the small metal piece that opened the lid. The can opened with a fizzing sound and she looked at it as it rose up, nearly escaping its confinement before the orange foam fizzed back down, lowering the level of the pop. She took a sip, the bubbles fizzing in her mouth. In the few months it had been in her trunk, the pop hadn't become flat.
Still looking straight ahead at the opposite wall of the tower she answered sarcastically. "Oh of course I am really a ghost which explains why I am actually drinking this pop and not just taking in its essence." As if to prove her point she took a long exaggerated sip of soda. " A smile spread across her face and she grinned cheesily, "Have I proved my point, or if you still want to investigate I am sure you can find something they have in the library."
She turned back, "Besides this pop is way fresher then that, it was only in my basement for what 99 years," Star said in a serious voice, although she was kidding. And knew that Ondrea knew that she was.

As Ondrea pulled on the tab of the can of pop, hers started to fizz just like Stars, one eye-brow raised, she looked up at Star about to ask her about this, but it was too late, Star was going through the procedure (OOC: lol i felt like doing that) of replying to Ondreas' previous comment.
Ondrea shook her head madly, "Oh, I give up, I am not going into the library!" Ondrea said, as if Star was really a ghost, (although she knew she wasn't) "I hate libraries." Ondrea said truthfully, she didn't like to read much, but the odd book she did read, she preferred it to be her own, and not borrowed by bundles of people, who could have done anything with their hands. "Ew." Ondrea said partly to herself.
Then adding in once Star had said her '99 year' comment, "Meh, it won't be to bad then." she said with a smile, and taking a gulp of the beverage, shrugging as she did so.
Why is the pop so fizzy... very strange. Ondrea thought to herself again, "Still fizzy." Ondrea commented, gesturing toward her pop, "Put a spell on it or something?"

"I like the library, can't think of much else I would rather do then just sit and spend the afternoon immersed in a good book." Starlit loved to read, mainly stories, sometimes poems. It amazed her that words words just put on a page could bring out as much emotion as they did, making her feel as the characters did, sometimes they even made tears spill from her eyes. To her they weren't just ink on parchment, but something far deeper.
"Fizzy huh?" she took another sip of her pop, it was oddly fizzy. "No I didn't cast anything on them..." she thought back to getting the cans of pop from her dormitory. She had taken the two cans from her bedside table drawer, Wait a second, I didn't put the pop there. "Uh oh," she placed the drink down on the ground. "I got these from the joke shop in Hogsmaede once, don't even remember why I bought it, or what it does."
She scowled at the orange can, "Maybe it is just ever fizzy pop?" As she spoke a tingling sensation went across her scalp. Placing a hand to her hair she ran it through the silky strands. Separating a bunch of it her eyes widened in horror. Held between her long pale fingers, in front of her eyes was a streak of orangish red.
Standing up she walked and looked into a shiny light colored tile that doubled as a mirror and she took a quick sharp breath. Originally golden blond locks had turned orange-red. Dark blue eyes widened and she stared in disbelief, speaking grumpily she said in a half-mutter, "Now I remember the orange drink changes hair color and..." she hesitated. "Well I guess we will see what the purple one does now won't we."
Sitting back down against the wall she turned to Ondrea, "At least the effects are only temporary." Still she was in slight disbelief at the drastic change. On a lighter note she added with a tiny smirk, "So how do I look as a red head?" Although the Ravenclaw had nothing whasoever against the hair color, she still didn't like the fact it was now her temporary shade.

Ondrea nodded, "I can't find too many books that I like, I like ones that make me feel, like the ousiders... That book made me cry, and it reminded me, of well my life." Ondrea said, "I felt like I knew everyone in that book. It was a good one and-" she was cut off, when she saw Stars hair starting to turn red at the roots.
"Sta-" she began, pointing to Stars hair, but Star had already noticed, by this time, her whole head was a blazing ball of red.
Ondrea then frantically took a stran of hair from behind her ear, it was still black, "Thank God, I hate purple." she said, but then looked at Star, 'We'll just have to see what that purple one does' Did she just say what I think she said? Yep. No! She can't have, purple, PURPLE, that is the ugliest color, ew. No.
Ripping open her back-pack, she spilled everything out on to the ground, and scurried through everything on the ground, to find her mirror. Her hands hit her- Ondrea gulped, her cigarette package. Quickly grabbing them, she shoved them back into her back-pack, she hoped Star hadn't seen them. Pretending to act casual, going through the paper, pens, knives, journals, photos, make-up, random candies, everything was in there, she finally found her mirror.
Hurriedly, she flipped it open, and examined her face, "Nothing so far..." And then it hit her, her eyes had turned purple, "NO!!!" she hollered, her pride, a part from her hair, was her icey blue eyes, and now they were purple, the ugliest color on Earth, "Ew." she said, and then looked up at Star.
She was a bit angry, just a bit at Star, but mainly at the pop, anyway Star wouldn't have done it on purpose, "It looks ugly." Ondrea said in a pouty voice, even though she thought it looked fine, she wasn't in the best of moods.

Starlit couldn't help but let her good mood slip a bit as Ondrea seemed to grow mad at her. "Sorry," she muttered before trying to look on the bright side. "Well there are far worse things that could have happened, your skin could have turned..." she cut off as she glimpsed the cigarettes.
Mouth hanging open for a split second she closed it and frowned. Good mood dissipating completely, "That will give you lung cancer you know," she said, not feeling as if she could use another person she knew to the disease.
"You have probably heard this a million times, but you really could die from it, it's proven, even if you don't die straight from it it can shorten your life span. It can make your teeth all yellow, and your cloths and breath smell really bad and..." she couldn't think of anything else to say. Usually she could spend a while dishing out information, but now she just stopped speaking.
Frowning she crossed her arms, feeling a sudden chill in the room and put her head on her knees. Dark blue eyes that contrasted hugely with the temporary fire red color peered out from behind bangs that had blown into her eyes. It was obvious she had been put into a dark and grumpy mood.

Ondrea wanted to suddenly disappear, one she had realized Star had seen her cigarettes, and with much effort had to hold done puking, "Sh*t." she muttered under her breath, and then attempted to lighten their spirits by adding a bit of a joking comment, once seeing how grumpy Star looked, "I think I will be murdered by you before I die of cancer." Ondrea said, "Shall I leave before you get a hold of me?" she asked, about to make a laugh, but then decided not to, the joke was going no where.
Straightening up, she started up her explanation with great difficulty, "Star, I know that you have never smoked, you don't know how hard it is to quit." Ondrea paused, but quickly continued before Star would continue with the lecture, "I know it isn't an excuse, but really I am trying. I can't just snap my fingers and then I'm all better."
Ondrea leaned back on a wall behind her, and sighed, remembering the day she had started, only twelve, "You know Star, I haven't told you much about my life, have I?" Ondrea shook her head slowly, closing her eyes as she did so, "You have no clue." she said, "Not a clue of what it is like."
Ondrea then looked at Star, "Not that I wish you did, I wish no one knew what it was like." Ondrea then stopped, she had just said how Star hadn't known much about her past, how would she know now what she was speaking of.
"Sorry 'bout that." Ondrea said, looking down at her feet, she couldn't bare to look at Star, that was it, she was ashamed.
"I promise you I am trying." Ondrea said, and then muttered in a sulky voice, "Like anybody would care if I died of cancer anyway."
Ondrea suddenly remembered Stars comment about bad breath, and yellow teeth, and then smirked, "So you think I stink, and have bad breath?"
The truth was, Ondrea smoke so little, and brushed her teeth so much, and had showers more then regularly, she smelt just fine, if not food, and her teeth were pretty much white.
