At first, his comments were seen as shrugging her off; something her parents would do a little of the time if she ever had any problems with anything they had said. The following words accented the fact that he did care for her as a friend, and would be there if need be. But the action he took complimented his first words.
"I'm... sorry..."
Keeping her arms tightly crossed over her chest, a single pealy tear streaked down her cheek to end its path at the corner of her quivering lip. She had arrived spinning and happy, only to leave in a mingle of tears. The girl turned on her heavy heal and stepped lightly out of the room, closing the door behind her with a thud.

The minute he heard the wooden doors close with a thud; Forgoil cursed himself for his own stupidity. He had done the exact opposite of what he wanted to do, and let Carmen slip out of his grasp just like he had with Lottie in the Common Room. The situation had to be changed and quick if he were to catch up with Carmen, but how would Forgoil be able to talk with her? The mood between the two friends seemed to be covered in a downcast that couldn't be pushed away, but Forgoil had let the downcast build up last time. This time would be different.
With his mind made up, Forgoil quickly walked and opened the door; listening for any sound of footsteps echoing up from the stairwell. Sure enough, there was a pair of footsteps descending from the Tower and Forgoil quickly broke into to a light run down the stairs in order to catch up with Carmen. It took him five minutes to do so, but at last he sighted Carmen's blue hair and put on a burst of speed so that he over took her and was standing right in front of her. With no intentions of moving out of the way just yet.
The passive rage that was building up in the boy was gone; his old demeanor had returned in full. Forgoil used his body to make it impossible to up either up or down the Astronomy Tower and stood there looking up at Carmen. "Where are you off to in such a hurry Carmen?", asked Forgoil as he quirked his right eyebrow, "Were you running from me because if so that was a very futile tempt on your part."
Yet Forgoil's voice softened as he walked up the steps until he stood only inches away from Carmen; his now fiery, red hair almost touching her dark blue. In almost a whispered voice, Forgoil softly said as he wiped away the faint tear line that was on Carmen's face, "Apology accepted Carmen." The boy then enveloped Carmen in a tight hug and whispered in her ear, "I am one of your friends Carmen. It pains me to see you act this way. I would do anything to make you happy if it were within my power to do so, and yet you still run from me. Why?"
