(wow, a long title...)
Samantha walked to the tower. The moon was beautiful tonight and she needed something to do.Her hair was up in an untidy bun and some peices were falling down into her face from being up all day. She had on a skirt, knee length, and green in color. She wore a tight black tee shirt. A small hemp anklet hung around her ankle. She walked slowly, in no hurry. Her feet just sort of carried her, following the way they knew so well.
She reached the bottom of the steps and began up them, in the same slow way, this was more becasue she knew if she went fast she would fall right down the steps, not a pretty sight for anyone, especially not in a skirt. Makeing the top step she saw it was already occupied. "Hello?" She said questioning, trying to figure out who it was.
(*cough* this is where you come in...LOL)

OOC: Geee... could you have made it a little more obvious for me? I almost didn't know what to do. ;D
Adam looked at his distorted and transparent reflection upon the window's glass pane. He felt very confused about all that was going on in his life, and especially at the school. It wasn't a cold night, but the wind blowing through the window he had opened carried the chill of night time in with it. He was wearing a pair of dark blue jeans, with holes on the knees, and a black t-shirt. The wind ruffled his already unruly hair as he sat on the wide window ledge and turned his attention towards the dark abyss.
Ever since he had come to this school, so many things had changed, and it seemed the world was turned upside-down. He didn't know what to think anymore. He sighed quietly, watching one especially bright star in the night sky. Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight. He lifted his hand up and watched as the dim light cast by the starts filtered through his spread fingers, casting odd shadows across his face. Wish indeed Adam thought to himself as he lowered his arm and frowned. He was being childish, wishing for what couldn't be.
The sound of feet walking up the stairs made Adam turn from his head towards the door, listening to the echo from below. I wonder who that could be, and what they want. It's a wonderful night to look at stars, maybe thats why they're here. Adam thought to himself, thinking nothing more of the soft sound of shoe on stone.
When Adam heard the feet reach the top of the stairs, trying to figure out who it was, he heard their voice. "Hello?" Adam wasn't quite sure, but he had a pretty good idea who it was. It was the only person he had really accepted as his friend since he arrived. A smile crossed his face as he thought about how wonderful a word that was. Friend. Especially a true one.
Getting up, Adam walked over to make sure before he made a fool of himself. When he was positive of the person's identity, he replied, "Hello Sam, nice night, isn't it? What are you doing up here?"

"I could ask you the same..." She said with soft, light, tone. "Just came up to, I don't really know. I mean it is a nice night, but I guess, I am not really thinking of stars." She said with a chuckle. She walked over to the window. The stars were bright and the moon was shineing through the window. Almost full, but not quite. The light caught in her green eyes, makeing them shine. "So, what are you doing?" She asked pleasantly. Her voice just over a whisper, something about the night, made her not want to raise her voice, seemed it would disturb. (ooc: I knew I should have wrote out numbered directions.. )

"So, what are you doing?" Sam asked in a pleasant whisper. Adam looked towards where she was standing and out to the stars beyond. The light seemed to catch on her eyes, giving them a beautiful, shining quality one wouldn't notice during the daytime. He felt that she was right in whispering, the night seemed so fragile and peaceful, as though it would shatter at the slightest sound, returning to the din and chaos of the day. Sometimes he just wished that he was the only person in the world, and that it was always night. Peaceful, serene, quiet darkness. It really was a beautiful night, and with the moon almost full, there was no need for any other lights. The tower room was bathed in unearthly light, light that made everything seem beautiful.
"What am I doing here? I don't know, I just felt like taking a walk, and wanted to go somewhere I had never gone before. I remembered hearing someone say that the view from the tower was the most beautiful in the entire castle, so I walked up here. Its a really nice place to just sit and think, especially on a night like tonight," Adam said, gesturing out the window towards the open sky. "Besides, so many things have changed for me... I really needed to have some time to think, so I came here."
Adam looked at Sam, waiting for her to respond, but at the same time, wishing that the world would stop then and there at that one instant in time, in which everything seemed so perfect, so... right.

Samantha nodded, as if she understood. She did understand. Usually she herself came here with a heavy mind. However, she didn't talk for a few moments. Enjoying the silence, for atleast a moment. Finally she spoke.
"I don't mean to intrude then. If you want, I'll leave, let you think." She said, looking him in the eyes. "Or, I mean, if you want, I'm here, you could talk about it..If you want." She added, not wanting to pry or anything, just putting the offer out there.

"I don't mean to intrude then. If you want, I'll leave, let you think. Or, I mean, if you want, I'm here, you could talk about it..If you want." Sam's comment broke the silence, bringing Adam's thoughts back to reality. He turned away from the window and smiled at her, saying "No, don't leave because of me. I enjoy your company a lot. I was just thinking about how my life has changed, how much better it is now that I am here instead of home, but eventually I will have to go back there." Adam stared at his one particularly bright star, thinking about the wish he had made earlier. A small smile crept over his face. Childish indeed, but its fun to wish for something.
As he stared at that star, he continued his story. "Also, events at the school have me very confused. Every thing seems so normal on the outside, go to class, eat at the dining hall, sleep, play with your friends, all that wonderful stuff. But one can hear the whispers floating down the hallways, in the dark corners of the library, when no one thinks you are there, the whispers of war. Perhaps its just a joke of some kind, but people seem honestly scared." Just then, a particularly strong gust of wind caused the window to slam back into place, making Adam to jump a little. "I want to know whats going on, but no one seems to want to talk about it." Adam sighed as he walked over and pushed the window open again. "I don't know... what do you think Sam? Have you heard these things?"

Samantha's smile faded. Not wanting to hear more of this war. So silly it is. She figured she might as well tell him. "Well, you see, some people are just trying to take over the school, bad people. So, I guess it seems that it will be your average good verses evil battle, except with students eh?" She said, her normally happy tone gone. She hated thinking of this. Always, everyone was talking about the bad things that were happening in the school. It wasn't something she wanted to be apart of.She hadn't joined a side, and didn't want to. She sat donw, heavly onto the floor. Stareing out the big glass. She looked up at the sky, found a star and decided to make a wish. Sh didn't know if it would ever come true, but childish hopes were worth saveing to her. She liked to dream, it kept her happy. I wish I may I wish I might, get this wish I wish tonight..she wished after thinking long and hard, a silly wish, but one she hoped to come true.
"Hey Adam, wanna know something ever so stupid? I just wished on a star..You know like when your a little kid.." She said with a slight chuckle. She stood up again and stood beside him. With out thinking she grabbed his hand. Once she realized she had done it she let go, probably blushing furiously. She decided not to apoligize, not wanting to draw attention to it.

Adam stood nearby, leaning against the wall was Sam spoke. Good versus Evil. He smiled, wishing that the world would be just that black and white. He frowned though, when he thought about how many students could die because of this stupid war. A war based on prophesy none the less. Adam sighed. It was his personal belief that prophesy meant nothing, and it is the free will of people that cause things to happen, not some words written down in a dusty tome. Adam judged from the way Sam spoke that she had already picked a side, but he wasn't sure. She seemed to hate the whole idea as much as he did. Sensing that it was a delicate subject she didn't want to talk about anymore, Adam let it drop.
He moved away from his spot against the wall, and stood in front of the window. So many thoughts, numerous as the stars. Suddenly, Sam, who had been sitting on the floor, said, "Hey Adam, wanna know something ever so stupid? I just wished on a star..You know like when you're a little kid.." Just as Adam was about to tell her what he thought, he saw her stand up and walk over next to him. A warm feeling in his hand caused Adam to look down. Sam was holding his hand. He pretended not to notice, and soon she quickly withdrew her hand. Adam glanced at her, noticing that she was blushing. He smiled, looked up at her, and said, "No, I don't think wishing on a star is stupid at all. What do we really have if not hopes and dreams?" And with that, he reached out and took Sam's hand, pretending to have done it unknowingly as he looked out into the night.

Samantha smiled when he took her hand. Feeling a little less retarded. (wow, what a good sentance...hehe). She looked over into the black of night. The only time during the day when there wern't students busying themselves and running around. Most were happily sleeping, dreaming. She would be there if it weren't for the fact she couldn't sleep. Hadn't slept in days. She rarely noticed that anymore. Her thoughts wandered from one thing to the next. Thinking of the war, and how many were going to die. Then she pushed that to the back of her mind. The whole thought of it was dumb, the concept of the war just reminded her of how terrible the world was.She didn't liek the idea of pitting student against student. She looked down, to the ground. The few students who were up this late looked so small from this high up. The lake looked black as oil in the night, except where the stars and moon reflected elegantly in the water. There was something beautiful about the night. Something that made everything else seem, insignificant. Her gaze went back up to the sky, she saw a few birds, and a few other flying creatures, nothing to odd. She didn't know what to say, and the silence was becomeing longer.
(I am like lost..I have no idea what else to say..So, now its your brain power now...)

Adam looked out upon the scene below, reveling in the beautiful silence that only came from the complete lack of people. Those people were most likely asleep, dreaming wonderful and impossible things that can only happen therein. Or, they could be haunted by nightmares, stalked by the darkness inside their own minds, having their greatest fears all come true without a glint of hope. Adam wondered which would plague him when he joined them, wishes and hopes that could only be shattered and never realized, or his deepest darkest secrets and fears hunting him through the night as he desperately tried to wake up. He honestly wondered which one he would be better.
Adam's thoughts returned to the war as he looked out into the inky blackness of the night. He wondered how many people would die, how many innocents would suffer because of this petty squabble. The world was such a horrible place sometimes, greed, prejudice, hate, all running unchecked throughout, hidden in plain sight of so called justice. They're all so self-righteous, Adam thought angrily to himself. Thinking they each know whats best for the world, but never stooping to truly think about what it is they're doing, and how wrong it really is. Adam sighed. He wondered if Danawi didn't have a fairly good idea in wanting to purge the world, even if his motives and means were questionable. Adam's gaze drifted out towards the lake which looked like a hole in the world to another place, full of stars and wonder. He wished he could just jump in, and never return to this cruel place.
The warmth of Sam's hand was a wonderful contrast to the cool wind blowing in through the window. Adam could feel the goose bumps raise on his arms as a particularly cold breeze crept through the window, stealing the heat of his body. As he shivered slightly, he moved closer to Sam, hoping to stay warm. Adam mulled over something he had been meaning to tell her for a while, but couldn't decide when the right time was. After much indecision, Adam finally made up his mind. He summoned his courage, he moved a little closer, and said, his voice cracking slightly, "Sam, I think I'm in love with you." Adam had no idea what to expect when Sam responded, but he was prepared for the best, and the worst.

Samantha stood there, the silence starting to become odd, and the night air was cold on her arms and legs. Sending a chill up her body. She felt Adam move closer to her, makeing it a little more bearable. Her thoughts were suddenly interupted by a shaky voice. She wondered what would make him sound so nervous. But when he was done, she realized. She smiled at him.
In love...? With me? HA! was the first thought that ran through her mind.
"But...We barely know each other..." She said turning to look at him.

Being prepared for the worst didn't necessarily make it any easier to bear. Adam looked away from Sam and back out the window, feeling like he had been punched in the gut. Even though she was smiling, Adam felt like she had told him to die. The stars that had just moments before seemed beautiful now seemed to be laughing at him, twinkling with merriment at his pain. Perhaps she was right, they had just recently met, but he didn't know why that meant he couldn't tell her he loved her. Why should he lie?
Memories from the past came flooding back, a dark tide washing him away, dragging him down, back into the dark depths of time. Every pain, emotional and physical became a morbid play in his mind, playing over and over every hurt and sorrow he had ever felt. A mockery of all that is good in the world.
Adam licked his lips, trying to decide exactly what to say, and tasted something salty. He reached a hand up to his face and was surprised when he felt his fingers brush something wet. Pulling his hand further away, Adam's eyes showed him the truth of what his mind wouldn't believe was possible. He was crying. After years of apathy towards everything in the world, one rejection he had expected had brought him to his knees. To top off his humiliation, he got to be seen crying. Beautiful. Adam turned quickly towards a tapestry covered wall, pretending to study it. He knew that it wouldn't fool her, but perhaps in this awkward moment she might over look it.
Gathering his resolve, Adam turned back towards Sam, a smile painted on the mask he now wore. "Never mind, forget I even brought it up. You're probably right anyway. I haven't had much experience with relationships in my life, so its more likely that were just going to be friends." The individual words felt like daggers, each sliding slowly into his heart. Adam knew he was over reacting, she hadn't technically said no, but that didn't make it any easier to hear.
Adam smiled at her one last time before finally saying, "You know, all this talking has made me pretty tired, I think I'm going to go to bed. Good night Sam, sweet dreams," and then he turned around and began to head towards the stairs.

Samanthas smile quickly faded, she didn't mean it like that, not at all. She knew he was lieing, in every word she knew. Her heart sunk, she probably should have explained sooner.
"Adam, stop. Please?" She said hopeing that he would turn around.
"Okay, even if you keep walking, I am just going to stand here and talk. Alright? Good, okay. I didn't mean it like that. I swear, I mean, well, I meant it but not in the way your thinking." She said at first, roughly trying to get the words out right, but failing.
"Okay lets try this one more time. Uhm, I love you too? I mean, that is as blunt as I could put it." She said, this time, without haveing to try so hard.
(Sorry, I can't make the greatest post I need to be babysitting!!bye___<3)

"Adam, stop. Please?" Adam stopped in mid step, causing him to nearly fall. He continued looking straight ahead at the dark stairwell, hoping he could just leave. He didn't have to wait long for Sam to continue, even if she was stumbling over her own words. "I didn't mean it like that. I swear, I mean, well, I meant it but not in the way your thinking." Adam wanted to believe her, he really did, but at the same time, he didn't want her to hurt him.
Adam continued his silent stare, waiting for Sam to finish. After a moment, he heard her say, "Okay lets try this one more time. Uhm, I love you too? I mean, that is as blunt as I could put it." Adam wanted to laugh. She said it as a question, trying to figure out if that was the right answer. He drew in a shuddering breath, trying to compose himself. Not sure of his grip on his own emotions, Adam spoke, but remained facing away from her. "Why are you saying it like its a question Sam? I understand what you mean, you don't need to explain. I appreciate it that you are trying to make me feel better, but I'd be happier with the truth. I love you, and if you just want to be friends, that is fine with me, I can wait until you decide if you love me too, but don't try to lie, thats just cruel." Adam decided he would wait to leave until he had listened to anything else Sam had to say, after all, he did love her didn't he?

Samantha sighed.
Wow. How is it I seem to try to make everything better, and it ends up worse?!
She was glad he didn't storm off yet, most people would be gone by this point. "Thats not what I meant either." She said quietly. It seemed that she always had a way to make people feel bad when thats not at all what was supposed to happen.
"I just said it like that because, I didn't know what to say, to make up for what I said in the first place and then.." She stopped. It was now all confused, even to her. She sat down on the ground. "I give up." She said her voice muffled from the fact that her face was being squished against the ground.
