*Chris smiled at Akas suggestion.*
"Well then. I believe this one is for you."
*He reached over and pulled out a book sitting at the very bottom of the pile. Unlike the rest of the books it looked for the most part brand new. Not one hint of age could be spotted amongst its pages. Chris threw it where Aka could easily snatch it out of the air.*
"Find us a spell to control time. Good luck on figuring it out. Ive spent years reading that one and never got anywhere."

"You know.......it might be very good of us to each specialize in our own brand of magic. You said we need water, you also mentioned fire. If one of us were to focus on spells only pertaining to water, they would easily grasp a greater power and understanding of it, the same concept applies to both fire magic and temporal magic." Azrael said slowly, having done next to nothing most recently, instead focusing on remembering the names mentioned and taking in the wellspring of information beign provided.
He had been casually poking among the books this entire time, although there was one book, which was uncertain whether it came from the pile, he had pilfered it from his short stay in the library, or had always carried it. Holding it up for all to see, it was a small book bounds in black leather, with tracings of silver inlaid in its spine and a single symbol of a skull to break the otherwise plain appearance of it, "I will specialize in this, one of the most ancient and perhaps most dangerous branches of elder magic; the black art of necromancy." he said quietly, almost immediately pulling the box back to his chest, almost protectively, "Control over the fragile barrier between life and death will be a great asset to our efforts."

ooc: oops, wrong account!
Keelin closed her book, stood up and grabbed another book from the pile. "ANd I will study in water magic, like Azrael sadi. It may not be as powerful as necromancy, but it will do."

Aka Akuma snatched the new book out of the air, looking at the barely worn cover showing a upside down hour glass spiiling sand upon the bottomless pit. Looking at the book Aka smiled a little then looked up at Chris "So that would be on which page?".

OOC: after I finally find time to get on I'm stuck with four pages of reading... I might have skipped a few posts...anyways please ignore the fact that I've been sitting in the window for the entire time... BIC: Nick morphed back into his human state, his back leaning against the windowsil and his arms crossed along his chest. "Hey Chris. Who are your buddies?" He glanced around at the other people in the room.

OOC: Ahhh...too many posts...like Nick said. If I forget something thwack me.
Aidana watched silently as Chris showed his elemental magic. It was useful, as he said. for one thing it didn't require a wand, and if they were disarmed they could still fight. She would really need to learn a lot to do this. Aidana didn't have much time until they attacked, she knew. Everyone was already picking their own branch of magic in which to specialize in, they all knew what they were good at. Chris already had fire, and Dovie was working on that also. Their convorsation about the scientific aspect of magic flew over Aidana's head. She smiled, it would be better to let them learn about that. Keelin had claimed water, and Azrael seemed very protective of necromancy. She could assist him with that. He would have to leave this plane if he was going to another world.
" Azrael, I can assist you with necromancy when you need it. I can protect your physical body when you are entranced, and still communicate with you. I have the ability to concentrate on two planes at once, though I really can't do anything in the other plane. At least it would give me a chance to feel useful," she said with a wry smile. Aidana didn't know what element to specialize in. Maybe the powers of hatred, which Morgan had given her would help here too. She thought it was time to tell the others about it. Dovie and Sylph already knew, but the others didn't. It was time to confess. Her thoughts were inturrupted when Nick, the animagus turned to his human form. She smiled at him, truly thankful for what he did to Ark.
" I'm Aidana Hawkins," she said in response.
" And I have to tell you all something," she said, taking a big breath. She plunged on, looking to Dovie for support.
" You may all ask how I got involved in all of this. It's a long story actually. It all began when I was new at Magic Horizons. I was stupid and wandered into the Forbidden Forest, and met a boy there. We were attacked by a nymph and a vampire, and I almost died. This boy saved my life, and we became best friends. You all know him, his name is Ark. I owed him my life, and I tried to repay it about a month ago," she stopped, looking around.
" He went into the forest again, looking for Danawi. I knew it was my time to save his life. Loyally, I followed him, but he didn't know. When I entered the Forest, Ark had already been tortured and there were other creatures of the Forest helping us. Danawi and his followers were there. Morgan, who is cursed with an ability. She can imbalance a person's light and dark, making dark envelop the body. She hit Ark with one of the Balls of Hatred, and he turned to the dark side there. I was also hit, but for some reason it didn't turn me. Yet it have me the powers of hatred, which will probably only come out during the fight. The dark is in me, I know. Every day it fights my light, yet neither wins. I won't let it win, but I will use it to my advantage. And I want to help you by using it for some specific branch of magic," she concluded.

Nick glanced at Chris for a second after the story with a little look of shock after Ark's name was mentioned and then traced his eyes on Aidana's face. "Well, if we're all picking a spacific plane of expertise... I'm quite good at electricity and wind."

Mesutashi had been leaning silently near the door the whole time. She hadn't moved, as if detached from the world, but she was most definitely there. When Morgan and some sort of ball were mentioned her eyes came back to life. "I absorbed a ball Morgan threw at me one time in the Astronomy tower at a party... it had only a breif effect before i somehow destroyed whatever is was with one of my dormant powers." Mesu stepped away from the wall and walked further into the room. "So that was a gift from this Danawi fellow... and you say it turned people... I'm lucky it didn't effect me, but... my friend Samantha was hit, she seems to be fine... but what if it's slowly taking her over... well then give me something to do, I have to help her if I can. This is personal now..." Mesu paused in thought. "I have a shadow form, I'm not sure what it can do yet, but perhaps if I study it I can figure it out and control it. It might come in handy."
She shrugged and looked questioningly at Chris.

"Well theres probably a book on it somewhere."
*Chris turned back to the pile of books.*
"Id be shocked if there was something Danawi was using that wasnt in here....actually."
*Chris thought back for a second.*
"Okay Nick. We need to go to the forest real fast. I have something of importance hidden there. If Danawi stumbles upon it then we could be in trouble. I also need one other volunteer. Anyone in?"
OOC: i changed the number from 2 to 1 just because nobody is really on at the moment

"Okay the rest of you stay here. Aidanas and Azreal are in charge. Please you two. If someone comes up the stairs and its someone you dont think is safe push this."
*Chris lifted up a panel on the nearest table.*
"Hopefully you wont have to use it."
*He looked over at Nick.*
"You head over first (and start a thread)."

Aidana finished her story and took a slow breath. It felt good to let it out, at least now she wouldn't have to keep it as a secret. If they were going to work together, nothing like that should be kept hidden. She saw the shocked look on Nick's face and looked down. She could do nothing about her past, only try to save other students from what happened to Ark in the future. She was surprised when Chris said they had something secret in the Forest. Mesutashi volunteered herself to go. Aidana also thought of volunteering herself. They would be safer if they had more people on hand.
" I'll come too," she said, putting the ancient book down on a table.
" I'll probably be better that way. I'm sure Azrael can handle things here by himself," she said as she walked toward the door.
Aidana hoped that all of them would be safe. The Forest was even worse now than it usually was. Not only would they have to worry about the Forest creatures, but now also Danawi's followers. Well, now it was time for action. She reached into her pocket and pulled out her long ebony wand. The wandmaker had told her that it was one of two identical wands made. That made her curious, but she didn't have the time to go find the other one. There were more pressing matters at hand. She nodded a goodbye to everyone in the room and stepped out. Aidana felt less protected outside the room. Whoever had put the protection spell had really made the security palpable. It showed that the wizard had power. Aidana looked back on the room once more, and walked down the steps.

OOC: This post is after the Forest now. Remember, Aidana doesn't know that Chris survived...
Aidana soared through the air, being flown my Nick from the forest with Mesutashi. She knew that the three of them were all right, but she didn't know about Chris. The last that she'd seen of him was before he was engulfed by lava. He had swallowed the green stones, the objects which they had gone into the Forest for. Aidana hoped that they had saved him somehow. Other than that, there was no way to survive that lavaflow. She started to feel guilty again. She had been part of this resistance for less than a day, and they had already lost a member. Well, that was how things went in a war. It just hurt her that this was the second friend she had failed. They neared the Tower, and Aidana's feet touched down lightly. She turned around, looking back at the Forest. Her eyebrows drew together.
Well, that's strange... She had seen a phoenix shoot up from the middle of the forest. It was flying their way. Aidana had no way to know whether it was friend or foe. She grabbed Nick and Mesutashi, and pushed them down the stairs in front of her. They would be safe in the protected room. They flew down the stairs, and Aidana opened the door ushering them inside. She shut the door behind them, and backed away from it. If this phoenix was a friend, then it would be welcome, if it wasn't...
Aidana went to the table where Chris had pointed out a panel. She lifted up the cover, and held her hand ready to push the button.
