Kage burst into the hall, knocking aside a pair of miniscule First Year's in his haste.
Once the possession of a girl, I now reflect the glittering sky.
He had first believed it might lay in the Astronomy Tower, but after searching for a long time, he had figured it could only lay in one other place: The Great Hall.
And now that he had entered, he swore softly. He would never be able to find something with all these people about, if only the Hall were empty!
Suddenly, all went silent. Kage gazed around in surprise; for all other persons in the hall had simply....disappeared. Had some beneviolent deity seen fit to grant his request?
Kage took a tentative step forward, as if daring to test how far he might push the limits of this no-doubt short reprieve. Seeing no change, he moved forward, heading towards the High Table. Were anything of merit to be found, he would begin there.
Abruptly, a soft grinding gave him pause. Kage listened carefully, seeking out sign of what had caused him to slow, then leapt back with a shout as one of the tables pivoted on one end like a baseball bat and swung its entire length at him. He narrowly avoided being hit by several hundred pounds of ancient, stained mahogany by leaping narrowly over it. Almost immediately, two other tables swung at him from opposite sides, seeking to crush him between the pair.
He leapt and twisted in midair, transforming to his trustworthy Lycan form. He landed atop one of the offending tables, racing along its length towards the High Table. It had to be there, it HAD to.
