The doors of the Entrance Hall of Magic Horizons school of Witchcraft and Wizardry are very impressive. Massive wooden doors, carved intricately, that have been used over the years. Because of this massive size however, this would also mean that they would create a rather large cacophany of noise, if banged shut.
BANG!
Pippa cringed, and looked around sheepishly as the doors had closed not so quietly behind her. Other people in the Entrance Hall looked over startled, and then grinned, giggled, or rolled their eyes and turned away.
Well that's a great way to make a first impression, thought Pippa to herself, shaking her head.
This was Phillipa Crane, or Pippa as she like to be called, an eccentric and often clumsy fifteen year old. Regaining her composer, Pippa smoothed her faded jeans and grey t-shirt, and reached up to pull her long dark hair out of her face, and back up into the messy ponytail she usually wore it in. Slinging her bag over one shoulder, Pippa moved into the room, her eyes wide open as she took in the splendor around her. However, now she realized that she had no clue of what to do, and once again looked around sheepishly, hoping for someone who could point her in the right direction.

It seemed like forever since Kira had arrived at the school, though only a short time had passed since she had come stumbling through the front doors. The Gryffindor student found it rather strange that she was sitting in the Entrance Hall, ignored by everyone but the dog at her side, but she brushed the fact aside. It was perfectly normal for students to sit around the entrance, most often waiting for some hapless transfer to wander in.
A loud bang drew Kira from her thoughts. Aiko sat up beside her, taking interest in their surroundings for the first time since the pair had come to sit on the steps nearly half an hour ago. Kira reached over to pat the dog reassuringly, listening as someone fussed with their clothes and hair a short distance away.
"Well, shall we go greet them?" she murmured to the dog sitting at her side. "It's the polite thing to do, after all. Besides, we've got nothing else to do right now."
Not waiting for an answer from the canine- for she knew she wouldn't receive one- Kira rose from her position on the steps. She grabbed Aiko's harness in her right hand, motioning for the dog to lead her to the newcomer. Moments later they were standing a short distance from the new arrival.
"Hi there," Kira greeted enthusiastically. "I'm Kira. Are you new here?"
A grin appeared on the girl's face. She was rather shy, but didn't mind meeting new people when the opportunity presented itself. Aiko nudged her hand almost roughly, seemingly upset with her mistress.
"Oh, and this is Aiko," she added hastily. "She doesn't like to be left out."

Pippa turned, and couldn't help but grin at the sight of a girl standing with an adorable dog at her side. The girl introduced herself as Kira, and the dog as Aiko. With a smile, Pippa extended her hand to the girl.
"Hello Kira, pleased to meet you. And you to Aiko," she said with a smile toward the dog at Kira's side. "I'm Phillipa Crane, but please, call me Pippa."

(A swift action, loud footsteps, and Joey Crowe had met Pippa in the Entrance Hall. It was a truly magical moment, and Joey would definately not pass up this opportunity. He ran in so quickly that he generated a small breeze, and trapsed right up to Pippa's surprised face.)
Hi, who might you be? (He said, sounding like a small boy again; However, upon seeing the dog beside another girl in the hall, he quickly backed off, his hands in front of himself in defense.) Didn't mean to jump up like that...could you send your dog off somewhere?

Pippa stood in surprised shock, sure that her jaw was somewhere in about the vicinity of her knees, as a blonde boy, a very good looking blonde boy, appeared right in front of her. She resisted the urge to jump sixteen feet, and managed to gain her composure when she saw the boy jump back, presumably at the sight of Aiko.
Jumping to reassure him, Pippa said quickly, "Oh, don't be worried. That's Aiko, Kira's dog, and she is very nice, both of them. Do you not like dogs?" she asked, curious at his reaction.

"It's nice to meet you, Pippa," Kira said, smile growing. "What house are you in? I'm a Gryffindor myself."
Before the girl had had a chance to respond the question a new voice piped up. Kira listened curiously to the rather hyper-sounding boy, stifling a giggle. The request that followed the other's arrival caused the sound to die in her throat, her smile faltering slightly.
"I'm sorry?" she murmured, not sure she had heard properly. Brows furrowed in thought, she sighed.
"This is Aiko," she continued, gesturing to the dog, hoping the introduction would put the boy at ease. "She's.... my eyes, I guess you could say."
The smile that had faded from her face reappeared, the expression almost sheepish.

Pippa nodded in response to Kira's comment. Perhaps the boy just didn't like dogs. That was a possibility, and that would be okay, some people just don't like animals, though Aiko was just the cutest dog Pippa had run accross. She could understand though, as Pippa did not like fish all that much. It wasn't a phobia or anything, she just didn't like them.
Turning, Pippa smiled at both Kira and the boy. Hopefully she would make some friends here.
