Trunk in hand, banging down the grand staircase towards the large oak double doors. It seemed like only yesterday Anna had come through those doors, admiring the gleaming chandeliers, shining marble floors, and magnificent moving staircases. But, seeing as that was eight months ago, she almost changed her mind about leaving. So many terrible events had been happening since the summer had faded to fall and the leaves fell. She looked out the window and saw the lake, now covered in snow and ice. Only a few months before she had participated in a not planned water balloon fight. If only if only... she thought sadly.
Her best friend, Rezna, left Magic Horizons for mostly health reasons, and Anna couldn't stop thinking about her. So, Anna wrote her parents a long letter about how terribly miserable she was, how she couldn't concentrate not knowing how her friend was doing, and how she wanted to go to the school her friend transferred to. Then, only a few days ago, Anna was sitting in the Great Hall, picking at her lunch and she saw the familiar flash of bright white feathers flying towards her. "Ningo!" she had shouted. He landed carefully in front of her and she ripped the letter out of the envelope as her owl began to nibble at her food. Anna's sad face turned into a bright grin as her eyes raced across the parchment. Her parents were allowing her to go to the new school that Rezna had left for.
So, here she was. Standing in the very hall that she began her great adventure eight months previously. And here she was, about to leave it all behind, for her loyalty to her friend. Are you positive you want to do this? she could hear her mothers words written on the paper. She cautiously nodded her head and licked her lips. "Here I come Rez... here I come." she said as she blinked away a few tears and headed for the wooden doors.
