It was a dark night outside, the wind was howling and the rain was coming down hard when a cloaked figure headed towards the Castle in which would be known as it's new home.
Frezzing even in a thick winter cloak the girl inwhich hid within had her arms wrapped around herself trying to keep whatever heat was left close.
Finally making her way to the top of the stairs the girl pushed one of the large oak doors open and walked inside with nothing in her hands. Removing the hood from her head the figure appeared as a 11 year old girl with amazing long Purple hair that lay half way down her back in lose ringlet, with the same coloured eyes.
Looking around with her purple eyes she noticed that there were not many people hanging around the hall ways it was either to late for people to be up or they were in the middle of dinner, the time was unknown to the girl as she had been traveling for the last three days in sunshine and in the pouring rain.

Persephone had always loved the rain. It was something that calmed her, and it reminded her of the quiet hours in front of a fire in Brighton. It brought back the smell of the leather seat and the warmth of the orphanage that the small Ravenclaw had grown up in. It even reminded her of the friends and "family" she'd aquired while she was there.
Maybe that was why she'd left dinner early, and had even told Daemon that she wanted to be alone for a little while. Perhaps that was the reason that she'd told her friends she'd be back in the common room soon, but that she had some stuff to take care of. It was probably the reason she made her way into the Entrance Hall to stick her head out the huge doors and watch the rain fall.
Persephone walked slowly. Her long silver blonde hair danced and flowed around the small frame of her body. Her large expressive emerald eyes were ancient and wise, and still mischevious. At five foot, she didn't look like a sixteen year old girl, but that didn't matter much to Persephone. She thought it was fun to see how old people thought she really was.
As she entered the Entrance Hall, she saw another girl. She was about Sephe's height, and she wondered how old the other was. There were other people Persephone's age and height, but something about the figure in front of her said she was much younger than Sephe. Still she didn't judge.
Looking around, she saw no one else around the room, and headed towards the soaking figure. She felt somewhat sorry for her. She must have arrived in the cold rain, and that wasn't something she'd wish on anyone on a day like this.
She walked towards the figure, determined to talk to her. Perhaps the other would enjoy some friendly convesation, and if she didn't, well Persephone could always go back to watching the rain fall. She wouldn't mind either way, though talking to this girl seemed to be the better of the two at the moment.
"Hello. I'm Persephone, or as most people call me, Sephe. Are you new here?" said once she was close enough.

Heidi had been standing in the middle of the Entrance Hall for sometime, not even knowing the answer of why she was still just standing there soaking wet.
Her Purple eyes just wondering around the ever so large Castle that would be holding her for the next 7 years, when a girl that looked alittle older but wise with this thing they callled magic, started to walk towards her, thinking that this girl would walk right passed her Heidi took and small step out of the girls way, she had come to do this as no one she had ever met wanted to talk to her.
The girl had the most beautiful Silver blonde hair and amazing emerald green eyes but what came even more surpising is the girl began to talk to her, like she was introducing herself to Heidi.
"Hello. I'm Persephone, or as most people call me, Sephe. Are you new here?"
Heidi didn't really know what to say no one had ever been so nice and took the time to talk to her.
"H-h-ello Sephe, My name is Heidi and yes I am new" Heidi said hoping to keep the conversation going abit long
"What house are you in? I believe I have been sorted into Slytherin but I don't know much about the houses as I am Muggle-born, I believe this is how you would say it if both your parents are Non-magic people?" Heidi said hoping she wasn't making an idiot out of herself

"Cool, and you're right about the muggle born thing. Don't worry though, the houses aren't that hard to get used to. Each house is known for something special. Slytherin is known for ambition and the will to get ahead of the game. I'm in Ravenclaw, and my house is known for witt and learning."
Persephone smiled at the girl. She had the feeling that Heidi was shocked that she'd talked to her, and this perplexed Sephe. She'd always thought that new students hoped and kinda expected to meet some one on their first day. But then again, she hadn't expected anyone to talk to her when she'd first came.
Which is why I probably spend so much time talking to people. I'm making up for all those days that I sat there quiet hoping that someone would talk to me.
"I'm sure you'll like you're house though. I don't really hear many people complaining about where they were sorted. Everyone seems to be a great big family generally, so I think you'll be fine."
And then she wondered if Heidi had gotten used to seeing magic. It hadn't been that long ago that she had greeted a boy here who was shocked and thought he was hallucinating because of the talking paintings.
"So what do you think of the castle so far?"

Heidi thought to herself This may just be the beginning of a great friendship smiling brightly as she listened to Sephetalk about Slytherin and Ravenclaw houses
"The houses aren't that hard to get used to. Each house is known for something special. Slytherin is known for ambition and the will to get ahead of the game. I'm in Ravenclaw, and my house is known for witt and learning."
"Well I hope that I will not have to complain about my house yet it is funny because I do believe that getting ahead of the game is so very me" Heidi said "I know I have only just met you but you seem like you fit in really well in the Ravenclaw House, oh and I am loving this place so far I can see why people talk so much about it"
Then Heidi looked upon Sephe's robes and saw a bagde that said Prefect. "May I ask what is a Prefect?, It must be annoying talking to someone that does not know alot about magic" Heidi said feeling her face begin to turn red

"Don't worry about it. I grew up in muggle orphanage, so I know how you feel. Things can get really confusing some times, but I'll try to fill you in."
Sephe smiled at Heidi in that motherly knowing fashion. She had been exactly where Heidi was now when she firstt came. She, herself, had been dazed and confused, and had thought automatically that she had suffered some trauma and was now hallucinating.
"A Prefect is...well, it's a student from each house that watches over the others in their house and make sure they don't break any rules. They can also take points from students that misbehave. There are usually two students, sometimes a boy and a girl, though Ravenclaw has two girl Prefects and so does Gryffindor...I think."
Persephone thought about what she had said. It was true that the Prefects had the pressure of watching their fellow students. It wasn't bad being one though. The duties could be hectic, but it was still fun.

Heidi listened to Sephe "Don't worry about it. I grew up in muggle orphanage, so I know how you feel. Things can get really confusing some times, but I'll try to fill you in."
Heidi felt alittle bit upset for Sephe to grow up in an orphanage, Heidi had heard many things about those sort of places, her only friend she had before she came here her parents died and was going to be sent to an orphanage and Heidi had not heard from her since. "I am sorry to hear that you lived in an orphanage, did.....did you like it there?" Heidi asked hoping it wasn't as bad as people had told her.
"You sound like you have your hands full with being a prefect and everything, but I bet it is a great job" Heidi said smiling hoping maybe one day she could be a Prefect

Persephone could see worry in Heidi's eyes. She wondered if it was such a shocker to meet someone that grew up in an orphanage. To her it was common place, and she had friends that grew up in orphanages. It wasn't something that was rare around here. It must have come with the territory of being able to do magic.
"It was ok. I had Manny and Joe, the caretakers, and they were great. They were like parents to me, and I kinda miss them. It wasn't as bad as orphanages can probably be. And prefect is hard, but it's fun. You get to meet the other prefects, and they're great people."
She smiled again. She'd met a lot of people when she'd received the prefect's badge. She remembered being shocked when she'd met them and realized how nice they were. They weren't anything but normal people, just like herself.

Heidi smiled and listened to Sephe talk about the orphanage "It was ok. I had Manny and Joe, the caretakers, and they were great. They were like parents to me, and I kinda miss them. It wasn't as bad as orphanages can probably be. And prefect is hard, but it's fun. You get to meet the other prefects, and they're great people."
Heidi felt abit of an idiot "I am sorry, I just have never heard nice things about orphanages, but then again I should never judge anything by it's cover" Heidi said smiling "I mean you grew up there and you are very nice and you miss it so it must have been like your home"

Persephone nodded. She had gotten used to people expecting the worst of orphanages. She couldn't blame them for that. If she hadn't grown up in a good one, she would probably been like Heidi. She'd heard rumors of the other orphanages, and they weren't the best. Maybe she'd gotten lucky, and she was greatful for that.
"Don't worry about it! At least you weren't asking me if I hid in the closests or under my bed."
She gave a stunning smile. She didn't want Heidi to be sorry for asking a question. It was better that she got an answer from some one who had lived the life of an orphan then from someone who had just watched Annie.

"Sounds good to me! I love going to Hogsmeade, and I promise that when we go you'll have a great time!"
She beamed at Heidi at the thought of heading to Hogsmeade with her new found friend. If she was right, the two of them together would have a great time. They'd laugh and hang out, and they'd explore the best points of the wizarding village.

Heidi smiled brightly "You mean it?" Heidi asked "I am sorry it is just didn't ever have a friend where I was from back home, so this is all sort of new to me" Heidi added
"Maybe we could even go shopping because that is one thing I miss from the muggle life, is shopping" Heidi laughed

"Great, and of course I mean it! We'll have lots of fun, and we'll go shopping. There are plenty of good stores, and the best for pranks....but I don't know if you're up to that sort of thing. It's kind of one of those happy past times for me!"
She beamed. They would have a blast, and shopping was something the two girls would enjoy beyond anything else. There was absolutely nothing like walking with your friends shopping. Sephe had missed it as well, but she'd found time to go shopping before. She'd be beyond happy to go with Heidi.

Heidi was happy on the inside and you could see it on the outside, she had a bright smile that seemed to be stuck on her face
"You are the nicest person I have ever met" Heidi said hugging Sephe "Now I have finally found a friend that I can do things with, and I need to buy some new robes and I have always wanted to taste a Butterbeer"
