Alyse pushed one of the heavy oak doors open with her side with much difficulty. But the more she saw of the hall as she pushed the more she wanted to see. Her smile dropped into an 'aw' of how much she had not anticipated it to be. The place about put her into shock. Then the thoughts of everything that she was here to learn and all that could be done and achieved filled her and she started to beam.
Alyse had hair that went just to her lower back that was completely straight. It was a medium brown color that shown red in refection of lights. Her eyes where a bright gray with a ring of green, outlined with a thin black line of eye liner. Her face was by no means perfectly smooth but it wasn't amazingly broken out, and on her nose there was a glittering gem. She stood about 5'4", but she had nice curves to her. She had always had hips.
She wore a long brown sweater over slightly worn and ripped jeans and a red and pink layered shirt. She had a light blue bag over her right shoulder and a few books of various sizes, and a cat carrier in her arms.

Daemon had found himself going insane in the quiet halls of the large school. He couldn't find many of his friends, and Persephone seemed to be out of sight. She'd become more and more busy with Quidditch and prefect duties. He didn't mind that though, and was glad to see that Persephone was finally getting what she deserved.
Still, it got lonely in the cold months. His friends had either gone home for the holidays or were somewhere in here, but he didn't know where. He shrugged unconsciously, and his five foot seven body did the motion with grace.
His violet eyes were mysterious and cold, but there was warmth in them. Warmth left by laughter and friends, and his lips were pulled back into a smirk. Not a cold smirk, but the playful mischevious look of a boy who often played pranks but caused no harm.
He stood there in the Hall for a moment though. There was someone there, a girl who must have been a few inches shorter than he was, which was ok. Daemon wondered if he should talk to her, and decided that would be the best thing.
He walked forward with feline grace, and there was that look of the predator to him. His hands were in his pockets, except for when he smoothed back his chocolate brown hair. His tan but not tan skin made him look slightly exotic. And despise his predatory look, you got the feeling that he was really a good guy. And he was.
"Hey, new here?"
He asked the girl standing before him.

Alyse's spell of amazement was broken by the boy who approached her. She looked up and smiled and a little red crossed her cheeks, she was always nervous around guys that she didn't know. "Yah." She said a little hesitant but trying to put her good foot forward. The top book on her stack of books in her arms started to fall so she leaned forward because of that so the one under it did the same and the one under that and so on and so forth till all but the large bottom one that she was hagging on to was left in her hands and not on the floor. She frowned at the pile on the floor and set down the cat carrier and her bags then sat herself on the floor on her knees. Alyse looked up at the boy and gave a small smile, "Sorry." She said, laughing at herself. "I do that a lot." She started to make another pile starting with the largest and working up.

"It's ok. Do you need any help?"
He bent down to help pick the books before she could respond to his question. In his mind, Daemon had a feeling that it was all his fault the girl dropped her books. It was only right that he helped her pick up the books, but his violet eyes searched the girl's.
She seemed to be unnerved by just his appearance. That seemed odd to him, Daemon usually gave off that feeling that he just didn't care, and not one of intimidation. He really hoped that the girl didn't already think him some sort of monster.
"My name's Daemon by the way. What's yours?"

Alyse smiled warmly at his help. "Thank you so much." Already this school seemed much different then the one she'd come from. And it wasn't just the feeling of magic and belonging but the first person she met was kind.
"I'm Alyse. I'm glad to meet you." She held out her hand to him.

Daemon took the offered hand. The girl, Alyse, seemed nice enough. She seemed to be relaxing already, and so Daemon relaxed slightly himself. Perhaps she was just nervous, he knew that he had been the first time he'd come to MH.
"So, do you know what house you're in?"
He smiled at her, trying to give off that feeling of calmness that Dante and Persephone did. Somehow, he had a feeling that he just did't pull it off right. And it was true, he looked like a puppy dog trying to act big and tough, but in the end, he came off looking sweet and a little confused.

"I believe that I'm in Gryffindor." Alyse started to relax quickly, like the snow that had been carried in on her shoes, that now in the warm hall melted. She stood up leaving all her stuff on the floor scattered around them. "What about you? What house are you in?"

He looked at her a little cautious. Every time he'd told someone what house he was in, they'd reacted differently to him. And he could tell because of the way people treated Sephe when they knew what house she was in. He just didn't want to end up enemies with Alyse over there houses.
"I'm in Slytherin. But you can't judge me on that. It's just that I'm very goal orientated."
Isn't that the way Persephone had explained it. Gryffindors were brave and chivarlous, Ravenclaws were bright and witty, always on their toes, Hufflepuffs were honest and caring, and Slytherins...she'd said Slytherins were the ambitious and driven.
He wondered how Alyse would take his house.

Alyse smiled and stood there for a moment, "That's cool. I could never make goals for myself." She laughed a little. "I think it's a really cool idea to have all the different houses in one school."
She looked around the hall again, "How do people find their way around this place? My old school was big but this is gigantic."

"After awhile you kinda learn certain paths, but while you still have no idea where anythings at, you can get a map. You can also get help from the people in your house. Prefects will usually help you find anywhere in here."
He smiled again. There was also the very idea of exploring and learning the castle that way. Still, that wasn't the smartest way to try to find a class, especially when you had to be at that class at a certain time. No, prefects and maps were the safest bets when it came down to deadlines.

Alyse laughed, "Oh boy even with a map or directions I'm going to get lost. I get completely turned around inside." She turned back to Daemon. "How long did it take you to get used to this place?" Alyse asked staring directly into his face. She tried to relax her buzzing senses and focus on him.

Daemon shrugged. The movement looked gracefell and almost to easily made, but that came with repition of doing something. His violet eyes looked thougthful, almost as if he was thinking back to a time when he had gotten lost. When he smirked, you could tell it was out of good humor.
"I still am. I mean, I can find the places I need to go, but there are still places that I swear I've never been before. But it's not that rough. Plus, the paintings are a grand help around here."

"That's very true." Alyse thought about it, and about how many paintings must be in a place like this. "That will be a big help. But also perhaps you can show me around some places. If it isn't to much trouble." Alyse shrugged. Her's, not looking as smooth as Daemon's.

"I'd be glad to show you around. Where do you want to go? We can start off with the Great Hall if you want. It's pretty easy to find things from there."
He gave a smile. He was that type of person to smile, and it looked like he was ready to go off and chase the world. His eyes were full of laughter. Daemon was one of a kind. There would never be another of him, and everyone who saw him smile knew that.
