Wyl was running late. He was always running late. It was a thing that he did. He always managed to turn up just after fashionably late to these things. Usually he would be seen here with Lottie next to him. Tonight, for reasons and circumstances beyond his control, he was alone. He had been freshly appointed as Head Boy. It was a nice Christmas gift, and he truly hadn't been expecting it. It meant that he should, was obligated to, make an appearance at these things, regardless of whether he felt like it or not.
He was wearing a charcoal grey suit, with a soft pastel yellow shirt, echoing the colours of Hufflepuff. On his feet and head, however, were a set of green and red shoes and top hat respectively that reflected the Christmas spirit of the season. It didn't seem to clash, though, Wyl managed to pull of the bizarre outfit he had nobbled together astonishingly easily. It was just another one of those things he did.
He burst in through the doors and looked around, his sea blue eyes framed by rose-rimmed glasses, taking in every detail that he conceiveably could. His Head Boy badge rested safely in the inside pocket of his suit, alongside his wand - not to demonstrate his status of power, but to simply convince himself that he was actually Head Boy and it was truly happening. He spotted Hayzie and straightened his suit down, making sure that the tails of his suit were sitting right and then walked over to his Head Girl, intending to introduce himself if she didn't know who he was.

Hayzie looked around the hall smiling at various people, noticing Amy had begun talking to Kasey made her feel a little better, even if her old friend did look upset. As Sirese spoke softly in her ear, the blonde stopped dead for a minute. "Forever?" she whispered, her eyes reflecting the hope she felt inside. Was he serious?
He couldn't be. Even Kasey hadn't been able to figure it out.
Shaking her head, and loweing her eyes, Hayzie decided to let sensibility take over. "I couldn't... wouldn't be willing to take the risk. If it's an untested spell, I'm not going to take the risk. I've changed fate too much already.. and I won't do it again. Que sera sera, right?" her words were sincere, though not masking the hurt very well. It was a shame, really, that the friend who had put her in this situation was no longer around.
However as the doors opened, a companion of that friend entered, followed by a very unfamiliar, and unwelcome to Hayzie, demon. "Oh gods..." the blonde whispered, her eyes widening. "Could you excuse me for a second? There's something I need to do quickly."
Curtsying gently as was only polite, the Head Girl walked shakily across the hall, being careful not to step into the path of Fenris and Xailyn. She had to get Amy out before she noticed. However on her way over to her friend, Hayzie bumped into someone and tripped over his feet before she realised what had happened. Tearing her eyes away from the couple who had just entered the hall, the blonde looked up. Wyl Thirsk? She only recognised him from the few times they had met in the past and Quidditch games, and the two could hardly be called aquaintances considering they had never really introduced themselves to each other.
Now, there she was sprawled at his feet. "Oh my... I'm so sorry," a very red faced Gryffindor managed to get out, stumbling to her feet. "Really sorry. Very much so... I'm so sorry.. .are you okay?" she asked, stumbling over her words as much as she had getting on to her feet. Apologising and babbling were two things that had managed to worm their way into the girl lately.

Wyl blinked, although he couldn't say he was very surprised, when Hayzie fell over in front of him. Not that he had been expecting it, but it seemed that the majority of the people in higher status positions around the school nowadays were more clumsy than they had used to be. He immediately bent down to help her up, smiling, a little more than amused at her rambling apology.
"Forget it," Wyl told her. "It's something that happens to me on a frequent basis. It usually happens every time I enter a room. It's actually quite surprising that I didn't do it as soon as I walked into here," Wyl grinned lopsidedly - another one of those things he did - and held out a hand to accept Hayzie's. They were, after all, going to slowly become more than acquaintances in the end.
"Wyl Thirsk. I remember you from Quidditch, but I'm not entirely sure you remember who I am," Wyl wanted to sit down and talk at length with Hayzie - she'd been around a lot longer than he had and she had a wealth of information at her fingertips.

Hayzie nodded and shook the boy's hand. "I remember you from the same thing. Beat Gryffindor hands down last year, if I remember right? You're the Seeker, yes?" she replied, distractedly. Though she was talking to the Hufflepuff, her eyes were on Fenris and Xailyn, just in case they made any move which wasn't going to be welcome.
"Oh! I'm sorry," she turned shocked again to Wyl. "Hayzie Roberts. It's a pleasure to meet you, properly," the blonde girl smiled, still keeping one eye on Amy, just in case.

Sirese had expected something like that. He had honestly thought she would reject the idea. It was risky on her part, but he trusted his family and they had loads of magical knowledge including medical spells. He wondered if he should relay that to her but decided not to voice it. "I understand, but I will still look" He told her with a smile as she made to leave. Something was wrong and he wanted to know what.
He looked about the room, where had her eyes been when she had to leave? He saw the girl and stopped for a moment, something didn't feel right in his stomach. He felt something like a cold chill in his bones when he locked eyes ever so shortly with the women. He had no idea about the demon or the man next to her her but the way Hayzie reacted made him think one of them if not both where not welcome, and it was not good that they where here.
He slide out his little green book and began to search threw the pages trying to look as normal as possible until they made their move. He hoped he could use his families favorite spells. Hayzie fell down and caught his attention till the boy she tripped over helped her up. He looked back to the two moving between them and his book.

No being the next Sherlock Holmes Ashlle didn't at first notice the two new entrance into the Ballroom, She had been too too shocked by Haysie's blatant trust of a stranger to put her back in -once he'd taken her out of- her own body. She just stood there too shocked for words as Haysie-Doll danced across the floor in complete bliss.
However, A Hunter's nose can not be distracted for long. There was something, something in the air that Ashlle didn't like she went to a food table and sniffed around, but couldn't find the oder.
What is it, what is it? I know that smell! she thought. Then suddenly it dawned on her. That smell meant Danger. It was clean and fresh, and perhaps a tad cologned but it was a smell that meant That death was near. Ashlle made for the door and was half way across the room before she realized that smell was coming from the front door! Ashlle froze.
OOC: Sorry about the book thing, I swore I thought you had taken it out to look at it - sorry!

Galanor looked behind her as yet another unknown person appeared into the hall. She still didn't suspect either of them, but something still didn't seem right. Was it a sense of impending danger? She supposed that she would just have to see. Still, she stood dangerously close to them... Giving the new woman a parting glance, she again turned her back to the pair, scanning the crowd.
Though she didn't seem worried, and she wasn't... She grasped her dragon-blood wand in the pocket of her robes, ready to throw out a curse or two if the need arose. The pendant about her neck shifted to its dragon-skull shape, the empty eye sockets gleaming slightly as though there were eyes staring from the empty black pits.

Krista wandered up beside Galanor, her goblet in hand. Gala was looking wildly around, like she was waiting for something crazy to happen.
"Are you alright?" she asked, placing her arm on Gala's shoulder with difficulty, because of the significant height difference. She seemed the startle the older girl slightly, even though she was already paranoid as it was.
She took a deep draft from her goblet and relaxed as the cool juice slid down her throat.

While waiting for his partner to arrive; Fenrir decided to scan the crowd closer in order to try and pick out any that were out of place. His daughter by bite was not a hard person to miss, and a familiar scent drifted into his nostrils and with almost automated perfection; Fenrir's head turned ever so slightly to the refreshments table and saw a certain nurse that he wanted to exact vengence upon. But then he caught another scent; a scent that made his eyes ignite as a fire does when feed pure oxygen. How? How had she managed to get here? She was supposed to be under lock and key in the Graveyard, but it seemed that something had gone wrong.
Yet as he put on his glasses to get a better view of the escapee, some youth bumped into him; causing him to lose sight of the fortunate woman. "Nice boots"; those were the words that the girl uttered as she passed by him. Maintaining a calm and collected exterior, Fenrir muttered back, "Nice hair" though he thought to himself, 'All the better to throttle you with my Dear'. So he continued looking about the crowd until a familiar voice at his shoulder caught his ear, and with a smile, Fenrir turned around to greet his partner for the evening.
Though he was stunned the minute he got a good look at her; he hadn't expected her to look like this. Simply stunning; without her gothic or punk attire she looked like a Queen from a classic novel. The kind of lady that no man could resist; a temptress, but she had not proven to have those intentions in mind. But it would hard for Fenris not to think of her later this night. "You look ravishing Xailyn", said Fenrir with a rougish grin, "Personally; I never dreamt that you could grow any more exotic than when I first saw you, but you proved me wrong there."
"And I concur with you about keeping our heads low for some time, though it may interest you to know that our blue-haired friend from Divinations is here as well. How; I haven't the foggiest, but if there is one thing we must do; it is to gain posession of her again. But first", said Fenrir as he offered his right hand to Xailyn, "May I ask you for a dance Xailyn? That is what this is after all; it would only further entrench us into their surroundings; masking us from prying eyes."

OOC Why thank you Mai, I just must say it wasn’t my best.
BIC Quite a smile flashed across Xailyn’s face when she saw the first look the Fenris gave her. He was definitely taken aback by her appearance, with full knowledge of this; the demoness couldn’t resist the grin that quickly spread her lips. When he told her she looked ravishing, she couldn’t help but let some of her demon-era escape from her, she could almost feel a blush coming on her cheeks – but no – she was too cold for that. With in a matter of seconds she could meet his eye, she accepted the comment, now gracefully. “Why thank you, I must reinforce my statement, and say that you look ravishing too, I could never imagine you so…classy,” she said, it was obvious she wasn’t saying that he wasn’t classy, just, the clothes, the brushed back hair…it was a totally different look for Fenris. “Wow,” she said, the professor had come around? “She sure revived quickly,” Xailyn commented, now looking around the crowd of people. She picked out a few people she had seen about, some that she probably was sent out to hurt, or kill. She gave a few looking students, a cold, but curt smile, almost trying to deceive them – for normally she would shoot them a rather insane looking grin, or something of the sort. But she’d try and seem as if her and Fenris were planning nothing. Maybe they weren’t. Maybe they were. No one knew for sure, for now Xailyn just wanted to have a good time with him. He now offered her a hand to dance, she looked to his hand, then to her own, tilting her head ever so slightly. Whoops. She forgot to take some sort of gloves. “Er…do you mind freezing? We…uh…might have to dance like most of the teenagers do,” she said, chuckling slightly. Nevertheless, she grabbed his hand, and she walked with him out more into the dance floor, that way they could blend with the ever-growing crowd. Lucky with her, she actually stood a good 5’8” with her heels tonight, and she could actually have her head near his shoulders! ((I can’t remember how tall I made Xai…I think she was 5’5”-5’6”…)) She wrapped both arms around his neck, careful not to put her skin upon his skin. “Frost bite? Or not?” she asked him, a hint of amusement ringing in her voice. The demoness examined him up close now; he wasn’t all that scary. Maybe it was mostly his height that would throw most off. She tilted his chin down, “Sounds like a plan…we’ll wait a bit,” she said.

It wasn't long before Hayz spotted Fenris glancing over at the drinks table, but luckily his partner seemed to distract him by placing her arms around his neck. She either hadn't noticed Amy, or she was waiting for the right time to strike.
The right time to strike wasn't yet, but the right time for Amy to get out was just about... now.
"Could you excuse me... just for a moment... there's someone I need to speak to," Hayzie apologised, stepping to one side of Wyl, glancing at Fenris and heading over to Amy and Kasey. Standing between the two, Hayz put one hand on either of their shoulders. "Okay, I know this is weird, it's weird for me too," she grinned, her eyes travelling to the floor for a moment, "But there's something more important right now. Fenris is here and the two of you need to get out of here, now... just trust me on this, okay? Even if you never trust me again. I'm no mindreader, but I'm guessing he isn't going to be too happy seeing Amy up here."
Taking a deep breath, the blonde girl looked between her two friends. Her tone had been quiet, and there was no way possible even the most sensitive of ears could have heard her. "I'll distract him," at this, her eyes strayed towards the pinata, "You two just go."

All the better to throttle you with
The mental words of the man she had brushed past. Normally, Sylph's Gift didn't permit her to listen in on people's thoughts, but being in direct contact with him might have done something to alter this fact. Ok, so if Dovie were here Sylph would be able to hold a silent conversation with her, but Dovie had a similar trait to Sylph herself. An alternate theory was that this man had some kind of telepathy also, but that was rare in humans. Sylph knew of only a few being that used telepathy on a regular basis. And one of them was -
Sylph's head twisted round on instinct as the girl she was stood by suddenly strode off in the direction of the doorway. It was clear that Ashlle, and now Hayzie too, had the same sinking feeling as Sylph; there was a threat looming here. Sylph caught doll-Hayzie's expression, fixed as it was upon the man Sylph had deliberatly brushed past. Sylph was not slow. Hayzie knew that man - or possibly the woman - if indeed she was merely a woman - that accompanied him. There was trouble here. She moved in the direction of the head girl, her eyes wary of the strange couple that now circled the dance floor.
"Hayz," she said in a low voice while she instinctively felt for her wand. "What is it? Is that... him?"

Sylph's voice was one of the most welcome she had heard all evening. Nodding silently, her eyes now fixed in three places, the blonde replied: "The one and only, and I can almost bet he's not here by pure coincidence." The words that were spoke were not only filled with despair, but also with caution and a kind of fear was settled behind it all.
"Don't be fooled by Xailyn, either," Hayzie whispered, glancing once more at the couple on the dance floor. "She may appear Miss Sweet and Innocent, but she's a demoness... don't touch her, whatever you do..."
How was she supposed to deal with this? "Sylph... do me a favor? Take Amy and Kasey somewhere safe?" Hayzie asked, ready to play a little pinata herself, and offering to take what could be the first and the last swing. Trying to think of the safest place, it caught her quite suddenly. The Prefect's bath would probably be the safest place... but... no, she couldn't give out the password, not today.
"Anywhere you can think of, just keep them safe, okay?" Hayzie smiled, placing a gentle hand on her friend's arm. "I know you can do it."

Sylph nodded resolutely, never taking her eyes from the lycan and the demoness as they were together, twirling effortlessly over the dance floor. What the hell were they doing here? she thought quietly, but she did not panic; it was not in her nature.
"Ai Ai, cap'ain" she murmured softly in Hayzie's ear, and immediately she seized both the Professor and the nurse - linking arms with each (Amy on the left and Kasey on the right) and began steering them forcefully towards the door. It felt odd to be taking charge of these people; both older and in positions of authority, but it didn't make her dawdle even for a moment.
"Trust me," she told both of them, just as softly, and her eyes gleamed. If only there was somewhere in the school under passworded protection apart from the common rooms, or the prefects bath, for that matter, but Sylph knew of nowhere. She contemplated the hospital wing. Kasey knew it well, but it was too open. Then Sylph hit upon it.
The head's tower.
"C'mon guys," she told both of them. "We can't afford to loose either of you. Or at least, not again."
OOC: apologies for the poor post.
