okay, i love to write, so my best friend convinced me that my writing is good and i should try writing a book. i have this idea that a girl named Shayla Genivalda transfers from her old school called Soul's Mirage in her sophomore year, to a school called Storm's End Academy. It is going to be similar to Hogwarts in the sense that it is a magic school, but instead of houses it is going to have guilds. The Knights, who are brave and fight for what they want and believe in; the Sorcerer's, which will be divided in to those who do good magic and those who believe in the old ways and darker magic; The Scholar's who are those with extreme intelligence, and are very wise.
She finds out that she is Betrothed to a guy who when she goes to Strom's End she meets and hates completely.
okay that is what i have so far.... i need a little help because i don't want it to be like the harry potter books. i want this story to be told from the standpoint of a girl whose father is a powerful sorcerer, who everyone regards with caution. She is very cold and set in her ways, once she makes up her mind it is hard to persuade her other wise. it would really help if someone would help by giving me names, characterization, and some advice because i want this to be original, not to much like some of the fan-fic that is out there i want this to be different.

When you write it, you need to make sure to have good grammar and spelling, always a careful note. For designing characters, that is something left up to the writer's design and originality; it's one of the things that makes up a book. I would suggest creating your characters before writing the story about them. Then, things will be a lot easier to write and describe. As for names, here is a site that could probably help you out. I think it's better to invent and know your characters, and decide their names later, after you know them better. Anyways, I'm not too experienced with this, but good luck.
