Author’s Note: After a conversation with our very own Professor Windwaltz, following a conversation he had with some other members of the site, I gained a small spark of inspiration for a brand spanking new fan fiction! I’m not going to bother promising that it will be finished, because a lot of people know what I’m like, but hey. Here goes nothing!
Oh, and before I begin, I don’t hold rights to the characters of Laura, Talon, Adhara and Amy…. If either of you guys don’t want me to use you in the ficcy, just yell, and yes.
Anyways, enjoy!

Chapter One
Morning had broken in London. The sun was rising between the seemingly endless field of office buildings, and streaming through the light green curtains of Hayzie’s bedroom window. It had taken years for the healers at St. Mungo’s to be able to fuse the muscles back into her legs, and even longer to reattach the nerves to one another. The blonde headed girl, sic years after her disagreement with Sealla, had spent three weeks in St. Mungo’s, regaining the use of her legs and making sure everything was alright, before being discharged the night before our story opens, much to the joy of someone who had managed to burrow his way into the centre of her heart.
Hayzie, you see, no longer completed her name with Roberts, but rather took the surname of Cox. Jason, the owner of the surname the woman had taken, was already awake, and brushing the hair stray, sleep-messed away from Hayzie’s closed eyes, smiling quietly to himself. He would let her sleep, it was the least she deserved.
“That tickles,” Hayzie mumbled sleepily after a few seconds, causing Jason’s smile to widen. The woman’s emerald green eyes blinked open and looked into Jason’s own dark ones which were sparkling gleefully. It had been too long since he had heard the sleepy words which would break through the silence every morning. Though it was routine now, it was something the brown-haired man would never tire of.
“Is that so?” Jason replied, teasingly, wrapping an arm around her thin waist and pulling Hayz gently closer to him, an action which the blonde didn’t object to in any way, Snuggling closer to his chest and clasping his hand gently in her own, Hayzie began running her fingers gently along his. As she closed her eyes again, though, the tickling sensation that came from lips gently brushing against the back of her neck repeatedly had brought a surprised giggle into the room.
“And that tickles even more!” Hayz laughed, trying to put on a straight and serious face, but failing miserably and ending up throwing a pillow behind her, missing Jason by miles. Realising this, she turned around and sat up a little to look at the clock on Jason’s bedside table. Half past seven. Flopping back down onto her remaining pillow, Hayzie glanced sideways to her husband. “You’re going to be late,” she murmured, her small hand finding his larger one again, as though it would stop time for eternity. If Jason was to look close enough, he would have noted the disappointed glint behind her suddenly dull eyes, but it was one that he, or anyone, couldn’t put right.
For a moment, Jason’s eyes left her face to glance at the clock. Was it really that time already? It had seemed only seconds since Hayzie had come home, and already he had to leave her, even if it was only for a few hours.
“You’re right,” he sighed, sitting up and meeting his lips with hers. As he pulled away gently, Jason smiled down at her.
“You stay there, and I’ll bring you some breakfast and then go, deal?” The only answer to his proposition was the expected eye roll, followed by the word ‘okay.’
It wasn’t many more minutes before Jason returned, showered and clothed, with a tray containing orange juice and a chocolate croissant. A smile crept upon his face as he saw Hayzie sat up and leaning back against her pillows, a sight he had thought he would never see.
“Room service,” he grinned, placing the tray carefully on her legs, while leaning down to steal another kiss. “I don’t want to go,” Jason whispered eventually, his eyes meeting the soft green ones of Hayz.
“I know,” she replied, running her fingers through his still damp hair. “But you’ve got to…” A nod was the silent reply, and with a mouthed ‘love you’, Jason left the room and aparated to the Ministry.
Author’s Note: Okay, a sucky ending, but it’ll get better, I hope!
Til next time!
