I got sad. I wrote a poem. Now you say stuff about my poem. Adieu.
I'd like to write a letter to you With a quill and ink And lay on paper in neat lines Exactly what I think. But ink has hardly dried when I Revoke those thoughts of old.
I wish I wouldn't change my mind! I wish I had been told That what I saw within your eyes Was transient, would fade Just like the browning ink upon This crumpled, pointless page. That all your words of faith and love, Though true as true could be, Rolled off your tongue like sprays of foam Roll off the lurching sea.
Now like those waves and swells and tides Our shape and form is lost. A moment's permanence I found: I never knew the cost. And now I waver back and forth Between good thoughts and bad
The keyboard clicks as I erase A letter I wish you had
You stay with me like currents cold, I'm pulled in with the tide: Yet tears I cry that flood my soul Are barely ripples in your mind.

Might I ask, was this a poem of a lost love? Because the meaning of this poem to me is something like having a loved one of whome you loved dearly and true, but in their words were lies.
Please forgive me if I totally missed the plot here, I'm not the sharpest knife of the bunch ^^;;

Excellent work, Zo. As always, I might add.
Hope you're not sad any longer. *nods*

Well! You are a FABULOUSLY talented poem-writer type! ^^ As said before... I wish I could write like that! Only, I'm happy with my writing "talents"... I just wish I had a knack for poetry. ^^; Have you ever considered entering a poetry contest or something? I'm sure you'd have NO trouble beating the pants off countless opponents in that field. XD Keep it up!

P.S. If this is a poem from personal experience, then I hope your wound is healing... best of luck with that.
