A shadowy figure stepped cautiously into the strangely hot cavern, it's blacked hood looking about the place.
Lowering its hood, the face of a stranger peered out. Probably once handsome, his face was severely scarred, one of his coal-black eyes too wounded to even open. His shiny black hair fell straight to his shoulders, and his mouth was like another of his scars slicing jaggedly across his face.
His single eye surveyed the cavern closer. It looked deserted.
Impossible he thought savagely. I felt the surge of power coming from the centre of this place... I can feel it surging from every crevice here, pulsating within the walls. What kind of magical beast lives in these dwellings?

"You."
A voice from the corner spoke up, it's word hissed in a serpent-like fashion.
Beating her black wings furiously, Whisper took off from the high ledge upon which she had been lying, and flew speedily down to the hooded intruder, her eyes burning with angry fire. Unwilling to screech and awaken her sisters from their own slumber, Whisper contented herself with ruffling her leathery wings angrily, her silken blonde hair cascading over her bare shoulders.
"I'm actually rather glad you dropped in," said Whisper silkily, her expressionless face betraying only the slightest sense of irritation. "We need to have a little talk, you and I."

Danawi couldn't believe his bad luck. Of all the lairs he had strode into, it had to be the one of the creature who stopped him from finishing his plan in the Head's Tower. His one eye flashing angrily, he turned and looked at the exit. It wasn't too far off. He could ward this beast off for a few moments by indulging her in her 'little talk', and then use his Invisibility shield to escape from under her nose.
"A... talk?" he growled, his voice raspier than usual. He had to admit it... the human part of him was afraid of this creature. He had never seen anything like it before, and he had seen a lot of things in his time.
"You'll never get any information out of me, beast," Danawi spat at the creature, his contempt wrinkling into his many scars, his courage flaring again. "And you cannot stop me either - I am the fulfiller of the prophecy... I am the End!" His eye flashed with crazy triumph, glory fading into his memory like a familiar friend almost forgotten.

Whisper, trying to retain her calm and elegant exterior, watched with quiet discontent. She saw the darting of his eyes toward the way out, and the fear that shook beneath his exterior.
When he called her a beast, a roar of fire made them both turn round - in the corner, purple flames shot up from the ground, cracking and spitting angrily as they filled the room with sweltering heat. Whisper turned her beautiful head back to him, her eyes as triumphant as his in her own way.
"Do not call me a beast again, unless you wish to be one with the fire," said Whisper, her wings stretching proudly. "I am a Valkerie."

Both of Danawi's eyes widened - the wounded eye looked almost normal until the wound upon it re-opened, and a trickle of blood ran slowly down the right side of his face.
"A Valkerie? No, it cannot be... they are only legend, no more." He said it with great confidence, but as he began to recall what he had been told of the legendary creatures, his mouth began to open in shock. So it was true - all true! The Valkeries truly did exist, and they existed on the grounds of the Purest Source... which meant they were more susceptible to good instead of giving in to evil. But it could be changed, it could all be changed...
"You... you are..." he shook his head, bewildered and unspeakably awed. There were so many rumours about what the Valkeries were - warrior guides; gods; robots even! But no... this was a true Valkerie.
In spite of himself, Danawi inclined his head in a small bow toward the beautiful being.
"I have never seen any of your kind before, forgive my ignorance," he spoke in his deep, foreign voice. "You are a creature of legend... I would be most grateful for your help in my greater plan, Valkerie. If I am correct... if I remember correctly this particular tale... then you have the gift of Foresight. You will have Seen something of what is to come; you might have seen either outcome, I do not wish to know. With your assistance in this battle we can bring this realm into chaos - the entire earth will descend into a state of madness appreciated by evil-inclined creatures everywhere! Just think about it. Do you want to live your life underneath these humans forever? Or would you rather build a future for yourself outside of the clutches of humanity. You would be revered as a goddess by all..."
He bowed low, still half in disbelief that this was a genuine Valkerie standing before him. "Please... together we can change - everything."

Whisper ruffled her wings angrily, her eyes burning brightly.
"Silence when you are in our home!" she hissed. Her elegant beauty radiated even more powerfully when she was heated - her long blonde tresses spilled over her trembling shoulders, and her milk-white cheeks were tinged with the faintest trace of rouge.
"We do not wish to consort with such a being as yourself. Rosemary and Claire have been good to us; the housed us and let us do as we please, giving us sanctuary in a world where many fear us, and even more detest us. There are many countries across the globe that search for the Valkerie that brought devastation upon them - we were divided for years before Magic Horizons, each finding happiness in the chaos we wrought upon unsuspecting mortals... and this place, this school, gave us the opportunity to find strength and happiness in a family. You know nothing of our power... nobody living does... so leave, before I do something to change the future's course."

Danawi's eyes were glittering with inner delight as the Valkerie spoke. Though Valkeries were as good as a complete mystery to him, she had just let something slip which she probably hadn't meant to - and which filled Danawi's hopes back up to the brim.
"So there are more than one of you, are there?" His mouth cut across his face once again in a crooked, tentative smile. "I see. Very well then, Valkerie, I shall depart. For now."
He disappeared from sight, cloaking himself with his Invisibility shield to ensure the Valkerie could not take aim at him while his back was turned - those fireballs hurt a lot.
He had discovered that there were more Valkeries than just one stubborn creature. Perhaps the others could be more easily influenced... perhaps there was hope in securing such a wild beast for the final battle after all.
