Whisper smiled as she entered the Hideaway. She wore a simple cotton dress, and her black leathery wings were half-unfurled, resting comfortably behind her shoulder blades. Her feet were bare, and her steps were light as she breezed across the cavernous space, humming a light tune as she slipped behind the violet silk curtain that entered a small room Whisper could call her own.
She placed down a small stone on her wooden apothecary table that lay at the foot of her bed, and walked over to the large armoire in the left corner of the rocky room and took out a long, black silk dress. Taking off her cotton dress, she slipped the silken gown over her shoulders.
She walked back out into the Hideaway, and peered around Kasatzia's curtain.
"Sister?" she asked, her eyes wide. "Are you here?"

Ace glittering eyes followed the eldest Valkerie as she crossed the room silently, her bare feet making no noise upon the smooth rock floor. He watched as she poked her blonde head around an orange curtain, and smiled to himself as he heard her call out for her sister. In his opinion, they were an odd pair; too close for a pair of 'sisters'.
Trying to be as silent as the graceful Valkerie, Ace stepped out from the shadows, his face set with a grin and a playful glint in his green eyes, that soon met Whisper's violet ones; the first time he had seen Whisper since right after the incident with Branwen in the Graveyard.
"Nobody here but you and me, love," he said, his intense gaze focused on the lone creature.

Whisper turned, her face betraying an expression of disappointment at the abscence of her sister and shock at finding Acerbus within close proximity to her without her even noticing. Glancing over to where her jet of purple flames shot upwards, she saw a glimmer of green within its centre; warning her he was here.
She stepped towards him, her silken dress trailing along the ground, and stared into his infinite gaze with her own endless purple sea; not in the least intimidated by the Vampire King.
"Acerbus," she murmured softly. "How nice of you to pay us a visit."

Only a pair of sharp ears could hear Desdemona's stifled gasp as she ducked back into her room, seeking a hiding place amung the black flames of the entrance. Unfortunately for her, both Whisper and Acerbus had very sharp ears. They also caught a flash of long white hair before the girl threw herself into the safety of her dark fire.
Her curiousity got the better of her, of course. Drawn to the soft voices of the immortals, the youngest Valkerie ventured out into the open once more. She gave a quivering smile to her eldest sister, wondering why the King of the Vampires was paying a personal visit to the Valkerie Hideaway.

Ace smiled self-assuredly at Whisper, and then allowed his eyes to wander where, behind the eldest Valkerie, stood the youngest, her wide eyes peering at the Vampire King with a childlike curiosity Ace found rather charming in the Valkerie sisters.
"Merely a social call, Whisper, nothing to get too excited about." He kept his gaze on the younger Valkerie, however. "And who might this be? Another sister?"
He raised a brow, and sent a playful look at Whisper. He knew that by now Whisper would have realised Ace had come merely from his own boredom and failure to occupy himself, and he intended to stay for as long as possible. And the presence of another Valkerie sister was a twist... he had heard there were five but presumed the others dead.
I wonder how Kasatzia feels about sharing Whisper with another sister? he wondered briefly.

Whisper eyes blazed violently at the look Ace gave her youngest sister. It was true that she and Desdemona had not had much time to become as close as she and Kas; but Whisper had a strong sense of the idea of family, and she suddenly felt an unwanted surge of protectiveness over Des.
"Acerbus, this is my youngest sibling, Desdemona. She has been away for a long time, but she has returned to us... we are a family again." With another reserved glare at the grinning Vampire, Whisper turned to her younger sister. Taking her hand, she pulled her gently to stand beside Whisper, facing Ace directly. "Des, this is Acerbus... the Vampire King."
She watched the two examine each other curiously, hoping secretly that Ace wasn't going to cause any trouble between the Valkeries anymore. He had already tried to seperate Kaiser from them, and almost destroyed their distant cousin and Whisper's friend, Branwen. No, when it came down to it, Whisper was definitely not a big fan of the Vampire King.

"I hope you're not trying to seperate our newly happy family, Acerbus," a soft voice came from behind Ace, the newly arrived Valkerie's eyes flashing slightly in the dim Hideaway.
Kasatizia floated past Ace without another glance, before stopping at Whisper's side. She looked to the side, reaching and patting her younger sister's head gently before sliding her arms around Whisper's waist and whispering,
"Oh, how I missed you, sister."

Ace rolled his eyes at Kasatzia's appearance; how had he guessed that she would appear when Whisper seemed to be forming an attachment to any other but herself? He watched Whisper smile as Kasatzia slipped her arms around Whisper's delicately frail figure, and then slid his eyes to Desdemona, to see how she would react to Kas's sudden appearance.
"You really think so lowly of me?" he enquired to Kasatzia, before advancing to Desdemona, and inclining his head in an almost-bow. "It's a pleasure," he said softly, green eyes glinting.

Kasatzia felt the eye-roll, but thought nothing of it. She was very posessive of Whisper, and she wasn't ashamed to show it.
"Is there any nature to your visit, or would you like me to fix you a drink?" Kasatzia asked Ace politely, her eyes calm and collected.

Desdemona swallowed nervously before dropping into a curtsie, forcing herself to focus her dark eyes on the King's intense green ones.
Seperate our family? Why would Kasatzia say that? Unless... is this Kaiser's friend?
The youngest Valkerie gave the Vampire a genuine smile this time, flashing pure white teeth. Any friend of her older brother's was fine with her. Though she hadn't seen Kaiser lately, the last Desdemona remembered hearing was that the two were on good terms.
"The pleasure is mine, sir," the young girl stated, trying to mimic her eldest sister's charm. She gave a nervous smile to Kasatzia as she entered. The youngest Valkerie, being closest to her older brother, had noticed obvious tension between Kaiser and Kasatzia from the very beginning. At the moment, however, all seemed to be fine between them... which, of course, probably meant that another fight would erupt soon.

Ace smiled at the youngest Valkerie, ignoring Kasatzia for the moment, finding himself enthralled and endeared to Desdemona as she tried her best to imitate her older sister's mannerisms. She was the only one out of the three of them who seemed to not mind his presence, which added to his newfound appreciation of the newcomer to the Hideaway.
With a nod and smile, he turned from Desdemona, and faced Kasatzia, finally registering her cold offer that bordered on friendliness. "If you have any blood lying around, I'd be more than glad to accept your offer, Kasatzia," he said politely, wondering for a second why on earth the Valkeries were storing blood, then decided that he really would rather not know.
"So," he said conversationally, "how have you all been?"

"Very well, thank-you," Kasatzia said, walking into the 'kitchen' and searching through the fridge that was stocked full of melted ice-cream. "I'll heat up this blood for you, Acerbus," she added, holding the bag in her palms before closing her eyes and letting her magic slowly warm it up to body temperature.
Drifting back out dreamily, she handed it to the Vampire, before asking,
"And how are you? Has life been treating you respectfully? You look well."

"Very well, thankyou, Kasatzia," replied Ace, mimicking the infamous formal tone of the Valkerie sisters while they stared at him with their eerie gaze. They didn't bother him half as much as they should do - he knew that lying beneath the mockery and rivalry between them lay a bond founded on the understanding of what it meant to be a creature of the night. Though the Valkeries were allowed out by day, they, too, were bound by the chains of immortality to forever walk this damned earth, trying to find a place in it for them. He wondered if they felt as misunderstood as he often did.
He took a sip of the drink, and, pleased with the taste, smiled. "Very good indeed," he said softly.

Whisper studied the Vampire King carefully with her brightly shining eyes. Why was he here? He did not like any of the Valkeries other than the only male, Kaiser. Ace's eyes met hers, and gleefully her eyes turned white as she explored the mind he was unknowingly offering her.
After a few moments her eyes returned to their normal swirling violet, and she smiled at Ace knowingly. She had Seen more than she had expected to find - a liason with the Head Girl, a painful goodbye, and a firm feeling that Ace was not going to be at Magic Horizons for very much longer.
"Goodbye, Acerbus," said Whisper firmly.

Kasatiza looked at her sister, slowly delving into her emotions to see what her beloved one was thinking. Seeing that she was simply just feeling herself, she linked her arm with Whisper, resting her head on her shoulder.
"Goodbye, Acerbus," she echoed her sister, her eyes shining.
