It had been so long... so many nights had been spent out in the open... so many days had been spent alone... so many times she had dodged prospective attackers... so many times she had pondered returning home...
Home Alissa thought to herself. The Lycan pup who was growing steadily, had repeated the word to herself so many times, and yet tonight, the urge to return was stronger. Over time, the leg that had broken during the shattering of the peace at the Lycan tunnels had healed itself, a few scars remained on her pelt, but nothing more could inform the general watcher of the fact that Alissa had been involved. Only the informed individual would know the images that haunted her nights and the fears that plagued her waking hours.
But home... could the little brown wolf view it as safe again?
That night, she had decided she could.
Stepping quickly through the grass that led away from the lake and towards the tunnels, Alissa's eyes and ears were sharper than usual, her senses more alert than they would have been two months previous. Being alone for so long had meant that 'Lissa had learnt to take care of herself. Putting that independant Lycan back into a pack emvironment could mean one of two things. Security, or disaster.
Reaching the tunnel, 'Lissa stepped in, hiding in the shadows as she made her way through to the main chamber, not seeing anyone around. Maybe they're all out... she told herself, her brown eyes watching the flames from the fire dance and heat up the chamber. There was one thing she was grateful for already. Padding further towards the fire, which now had her entranced, Alissa lay down on the rug in front of it, resting her head against her paws and closing her eyes gently.
Home sweet home.
