When the day is long and the night, the night is yours alone, When you're sure you've had enough of this life, well hang on. It was the middle of the night, and the Tunnels were deathly silent and empty. She knew that Xavier was around somewhere, but her father was probably still up at the school recovering. And she hadn't seen Alissa since the attack, though she was feared to be dead by so many. Perhaps the vampires had taken her back to the Caves, just to have a bit of fun before they killed her; her little brown body lying in a pool of blood... She shook her head violently- no, no... she wouldn't think of it anymore. She couldn't bear to think of it. Don't let yourself go, everybody cries and everybody hurts sometimes. Sometimes everything is wrong. Almost all her family was dead. She still couldn't fathom why things had been bad enough for her mother to take her own life- she hadn't seen what happened, but inside her heart.... she knew. Was it because her mother didn't like her anymore? The reason seemed illogical even to her, though she couldn't help but feel guilty and perhaps a bit responsible for everything that had happened. But she couldn't do a damn thing about it, could she? Nothing would bring her mother back from the dead, though she'd heard rumors that Faith was back. She could never do something like that to her mother, tear her from the gates of heaven just because she selfishly wanted her back. Well, everybody hurts sometimes; Everybody cries. And everybody hurts sometimes. Something between a sigh and a yawn emitted from the pup's muzzle, her entire wolfy body plopping down on the floor. Her blue eyes were locked on the Tunnel entrance, a bit of a defensive stare in them. She even felt guilty about not being able to fight the vampires, recieving a simple kick to the stomach that knocked her out with pain. A bruise still remained, tender to the touch and swollen as well. But no, she wouldn't let any other invaders in. Not this night. Nobody would ever, ever hurt her family again- or at least what was left of it. She would make sure of that. Yes, she might still be small- but who said that the small and meek could not be brave? Everybody hurts. You are not alone.

The past few nights had been nightmareish for Alissa. After the attack, she had been taken away by one of the Vampires. The next thing the Lycan pup knew, she was in the forest, and black had taken over her vision. How she was going to find her way back home was beyond her.
The days had been spent trying to navigate her way out of the forest, her thoughts jumbled by the knocks to the head she had received. The pup's journey was also slowed by having to limp on one leg after she had broken it. True, Alissahad found it agonising, but she had to find her father and Cealla, she just had to.
It was that night that 'Lissa had decided to go on through the night, make the last hurdle, and it wasn't long after her tired twin had begun to settle down again that the tiny pup made her way through the tunnel entrance, her leg sore and her head throbbing, only just managing to make out a tired, pained "Hello?" before collapsing next to the entrance, hoping someone had heard her.

Her eyes were still alert; her nose up in the air and sniffing around for any intruders. It had been a few hours since she had begun to stand guard and it was perhaps only another hour or so to the dawn, when all her fears could be put to rest and she might be able to sleep peacefully. Xavier would watch over her. She knew that much. He would never, ever let anything happen like what the vampires had done. And he had tried his hardest to fight back that time.... it was simply a tragic accident.
But that didn't mean that Cealla wasn't out for revenge. Oh yes, that would come in time. They would pay for killing all the pups, for killing her sister. Alissa was more than just that- she was her best friend. Oh, how the vampires would pay. As soon as she was old enough, she would make sure that every last one of them would die.
Suddenly, she heard twigs cracking and rocks tumbling right outside the Tunnels. Someone- or something- was coming. Jumping to her feet, a growl built in her throat as she advanced closer to the entrance. She could just barely make out a shape, but was unable to tell exactly what it was due to the overwhelming darkness. Snarling, the smell of blood flooded her nostrils as she grew closer to the mysterious person.
And it all became clear as the pup fell down and then called out. The voice was so easy to recognize... but, no.... it couldn't be! It had to be a ghost, a phantom... but the voice and shape were absolutely unmistakeable...
"Lissa!" She shrieked, the growl dying in her throat as the young lycan bounded up to her. "I can't believe you're here... well, I can't believe you're alive! Oh, but I thought.... well, nevermind! You're here!" Covering her face in happy puppy kisses, she then noticed that the smell of blood was still present. Of course... the vampires couldn't just let her walk home without some injury...

The excitable voice of Cealla filled Alissa's head. That, twinned with the enthusiastic licks on her face caused the younger pup to smile, small though it was. As her sister accidentally trod on one of her legs, a tiny whimper escaped Alissa. It hurts.. she explained, the pained tone still there.
ooc: Sorry. My muse ran away o.o

Sniffing gently at Alissa's wound, she then glanced around the Tunnels for any sign of Xavier. He would certainly know what to do to take care of her sister. But then she suddenly remembered- he was probably still up at the school after her father's accident. Did 'Lissa even know about that? Well, it certainly wasn't the right time to tell her. Right now she had to concentrate on getting her younger sister some help, as fast as she could. But what could she do?
'I don't know what we should do, 'Lissa...' She sent, furrowing her nose in confusion. 'Father's not home right now. And I don't know where Xavier went; 'cause I know he'd be able to help us. But I guess he's gone for now.'
After a few moments of thought, she ran back to their room and fetched one of her father's pairs of socks. Knotting them together as best she could, she was able to make a fairly good temporary bandage to stop a bit of the bleeding. But the leg still looked broken and she didn't want to attempt to fix it out of fear that she would hurt Alissa even more.
