It had been a week or so sense Chance had last really been seen about the tunnels. He had stopped nursing two weeks ago and was already catching small prey like mice and young rabbits. His small form moved very quickly threw the dark chambers of the tunnel. He was by far the youngest pup in the tunnels.
Chance had yet to change into his human form. Something he outright dreaded about his life. He knew Rogue was not his birth mother, but he loved her as such. She was his mother no matter what their scents said to them. He loved his family but as of late he remained distinct with them.
He had only learned to walk a month ago so his ability to wander the tunnels had grown a lot. He had remained in the tunnels not venturing far from the mouth of the entrance. His preference was the small mice and rats that seemed to wander willing into the tunnels. He would case them down the tunnels corner them and then make them a meal. Whenever these mice were not around he hunted rabbit holes and most of the time managed a nice young one.
As he lay in front of the fire with a freshly killed rabbit he seemed happy, or at least content. The rabbit was a little more then half his size and could not have been older then 3 weeks. His eyes darted about the tunnels to see if he could see any others, but he knew none were there, his nose had told him that when he had entered.

Despite the quick blue eyes of the young pup, Rogue's life-long skill of remaining hidden kept her cloaked in hard-to-find shadows until that final moment when she stepped up behind Chance and ran her tongue up the back of his scruff, ending between his ears and styling his head-fur rather like a mohawk.
Smiling as best she could in her she-wolf form, the snow-white wolf gave Chance an affectionate rub in the side before wandering over, closer to the fire, and plopping down lazily. Wrapping her bushy tail around her front, as she so often did, the she-wolf yawned widely, showing off her razor canines to the flames, before blinking her lavender eyes and sighing.
Glancing over at Chance's kill she pointed her ears forward. Well that looks tasty. She encouraged the pup, winking simply before turning back to the flames to watch them flicker. The warmth spread over the she-wolf lovingly, nurturing her like her own mother she'd never had.

’Momma!’ came the young voice into Rogue’s mind. The tone was that of surprise and excitement. Chance had been hoping to show his mother his kill. He was proud of his abilities and wanted to show off. He rubbed his paws over his head to push down what he could of his fur. He gave her a playful growl and headed over to his mother with the rabbit dangling from his small jaws.
As he lay next to her and began to eat. But kept glancing over as if expecting her to say something about his kill, or the manner in which he fed. Rogue no matter how much love she showed the pups she always seemed alone. Chance didn’t like to think he momma was unhappy so he always tried to be playful around her.
’Want me to get you some momma?’ the young pup asked, fully aware his mother could feed herself. He was hoping that the gesture would cause Rogue to talk to him, or even suggest how to hunt better

Rogue turned back to Chance, laying her delicate lilac eyes on him, and chuckling inwardly. As he headed over to her, she pushed herself lazily onto her side, letting her four paws direct themselves towards him, and her tail curl around her front.
He plopped himself down with the rabbit - which was bigger than him - and began eating it, much to her delight. It was always a great time to see the pups learning to feed themselves, one thing less difficult. It was so tiring, having to build up her own stomach with food, just to create enough milk to feed three pups. She looked back to the fire until:
’Want me to get you some momma?’
Rang sweetly in her ears. She looked back to him and flickered her ears forward to face him. She could see the hope in his eyes, so she closed her eyes and nodded lazily. Alright then. She approved, opening her eyes and giving him a wink of encouragement.
